Quote:Just bear in mind that doing it too fast just wastes daggers, since they do not stack from the same player. And if you've got it, try crafting the temp power Envenomed Dagger, and use it about once every 10 seconds (a bit faster than that is usually best, actually). Since it tanks her regen, even the small amount of damage you are doing actually sticks, since she stops regenerating 5% of her hp every 15 seconds.
Confuse is also a good way to deal with her. I don't think she will activate her Power Surge while she is confused. -
I think she would be perfect if the face was softened up a bit to look more feminine. The proposed version has her face looking far too manly. At least the body does not look sickly and anorexic like the original. (perhaps narrow the shoulders significantly if they are not already in all the way?)
-
Instead of silly little Rularuu the Ravager, how about something more fearsome?
Perhaps send in an AV class Willy Wheeler or Hero class Fusionette? Or an AV class Rikti Monkey who will then collapse in front of the spammer and fwoof him to death. -
If you have a lot of alts, it is pretty trivial for each of them to grind out 20 tips over the course of 4 days so that each one can purchase a LotG. You can probably manage to cycle through 5 tips on 5 characters in under 2 hours if you make good use of the Stealth buff from the empowerment station and only kill enough to get the next tip to drop.
-
Why did the other sound for the taunt emotes get removed? Now both taunt and taunt2 sound identical. Can we get the other one back please?
-
May not be too boring with FF/Sonic or FF/Energy, but I am sorry to say, FF/Rad is pretty dullsville. Don't get me wrong, I do like my FF/Rad girl (Bugalicious), but her damage output is so pathetic (or at least it was until she got Assault and Defenders were given a damage boost), I actually set her title to Non-Combat Pet (Just have to take care to never accidentally click on any of her badges now since she claimed her pet, otherwise the title is gone forever.)

Quote:If you hadn't already settled on a name, I would have suggested either Crow's Bane or Raven's Bane. Those were the first two suggestions that immediately came to mind.I recently ran into a situation similar to this. I was rolling a Dominator, which I dressed up as a scarecrow or hobgoblin. Looked certifiably badass as far as scarecrows go.
When I got to naming him, I hit a snag. I was rolling a villain with a scarecrow or hobgoblin theme. Both "Scarecrow" and "Hobgoblin" are names of popular scarecrow- and hobgoblin-themed villains in DC and Marvel comics, respectively. Took me the better part of an hour to think of a name that didn't seem to say "possible ripoff of a Batman villain." -
I'm guessing that is due to tang, which is the second syllable of one of those "bad words." And if that is the case, then that just shows beyond a shadow of a doubt how hopelessly retarded the profanity filter is.
Quote:Can't use the word 'Avengers'.
Now, I know that the Marvel team is called this, but in context to supergroup names we use in THIS game (i.e, Paragon Avengers, Rhode Island Avengers, etc.), we can't use that name in context in AE, or use the term in a sentence like, "...that team acted like civic avengers against those street-spawned Hellions" (ok, it sounds corny,...give me a break; I'm still on first cup of coffee...), but you get the hint.
The word/term 'Avengers'/avenger has context and use beyond the Marvel single-word copyright, ergo, this really shoudn't be blocked. -
No. They are the same. But I do have a few HP set bonuses, plus the Invader accolade, which also boosts my base HP.
My biggest reason for recommending Plants/Energy is because it is real easy and fairly cheap to get permadom (for instance, plenty of powers that take KB sets, so you can get in 5 6 piece Kinetic Crash sets for a total of 37.5% global recharge, and 30% regen bonus and 15 points of KB protection on top of all that). -
Plants/Energy/Soul Mastery is Awesome Incarnate(tm) for a Dominator. With that combo, you are like a super duper Mastermind/Blaster/Tank (due to Carrion Vines tanking for you)/Controller
-
When I have domination stacked (thanks to permadom) does that greatly boost mez durations moreso than with just a single instance of Domination active?
-
What file name do I need to silence the Dark Servant's sound loops? That would be both that deep background bass thrum and the higher pitched sound that is shared with the Sky Raider Porters. That deep bass is rather headache inducing especially, and must go fast, and the other sound is just plain annoying over and over and over and over.

Quote:I have to remember next time my Warshade does the ITF to have her use Dark Extraction on Rommie the final time he goes down. You know at least half the team is going to freak out thinking he's getting back up again with that super AOE stun of his.Dark Extraction. Always satisfying to watch.
My favourite target is Adamastor as he's (afaik) the largest mob in the game with a corpse that has a "rez" animation.
Muahahahahaha... -
Quote:There have been plenty of times where damage has come in so fast that I've dropped before I can even click on any inspiration. Also, it seems like purples have a significant delay after using them before they take effect. Pop 3 or 4, and faceplant before the 4th even finishes animating."What do you need to make a wakie?"
"A purple or a green."
Facepalm.
It's not always the player's fault (it usually is, but not always.) -
Quote:Actually for sets, 30 to 35 is the sweet spot. From what I have been able to tell, you don't see a significant enough difference between a 35 set and a 50 set to make it worth losing the bonuses if you exemp down below 47 (and the way teaming works nowadays other than trials, you will most likely find yourself down in the 30s frequently.)or should I wait till 50 to start slotting that into gravity well? would the set bonus be much use before I'm rocking lvl 50 IOs? (I only have about 40 mill, so it would be tight to afford the 4 enhancements needed to get the recharge out of the set)
Here is my obligatory example:
Here is Gravity Well with three different possible 5 piece hold sets: Basilisk's Gaze at 30, and Lockdown at 50 and 35. Mostly showing Basi's Gaze since that was what this thread started with, and to at least show the differences between 30 and 35 as well as the bonuses.
Note the enhancement differences between the level 35 and 50 Lockdown set?
Endurance Reduction: .22
Accuracy: 7.1% (The Kismet unique can make up for most of that)
Recharge: .63 seconds
Hold Duration: 1.43 seconds
The differences are not enough to make up the loss of the bonuses when exemping down. And to top it off, I see that the difference in enhancement values between the level 30 Basi set and the level 50 Lockdown set is still not that significant. Plus, you would be getting another 7.5% global recharge if that matters vs the bonuses from Lockdown.
Personally, that would be a tough choice, unless I was going to 6 slot the power. In that case, the Lockdowns would be the winner as the 3.75% ranged defense trumps the 10% regen that the 6th Basi would provide.
Finally, I feel it is best to use holds as holds, and screw the extra damage they provide. If you got a pesky boss or Lieutenant that you need to take out of action for a bit while working on the minions, you need those holds to hold and stack as much as possible (the Lockdown +Mag 2 hold proc helps there, as would the Devastation hold procs in your single target ranged attacks. Both are actually quite reliable and go off frequently enough to count on them). -
They're waiting for a hero to arrive that has to do a defeat x number of Council in Indy. When that happens, all the Council will disappear and be replaced by 5th Column.
-
I believe it was the wise Ed Gruberman who once said, "Well the best defense is a good offense. You know who said that? Mel, the cook on Alice."
-
Don't you have alts lined up outside your door with a list of demands?
There's never enough. -
Quote:And it's even more retarded considering how none of the old content (ITF and LGTF for example) require anything incarnate related.Yeah, its stupid really, considering how little of the new stuff requires "ideal" incarnate builds yet.
Thankfully, I haven't run into any of this nonsense on Virtue yet. So far, I've had my level 50 Warshade do a Lambda and a BAF, and she had not even had her Alpha unlocked at the time, and then this past weekend, my partner and I managed to easily get our AR/Traps Corruptors on 2 ITFs in one day. Not only dis they not have any incarnate stuff unlocked, they weren't even close to 50 in the first place. (I think they were 37 or 38 at the time.) -
Quote:In other words, treat them as non-combat hostages while they are hostages, and then change them to combat pets after rescued?I'd suggest the Devs add 100% immunity to an NPC and block any of said NPC's PBAoE Damage auras with 100% Damage suppression whilst they are in the captured state.
(Maybe use 1000% or 5000% instead of the 100% to guarantee this would work.)
So a captured NPC will do no damage and recieve no damage until rescued.
Fellow forumites and Devs, do you think this would this fix these issues?
EU @Coolio
That sounds like a good solution to me. -
Quote:Support is obviously totally wrong about this. Having a condition that can easily come up that makes a mission unfinishable should never ever ever be considered working as intended. The same issue is happing with a tip mission where you must rescue Stormwind. Is this her name? She can get damage too - like Frostfire.
I wrote the support some petitions of this problem but the response was: The mission is working like the Devs wanted to. I don't think so.
Those support people who claimed this need to be transferred to another tech support department (specifically, in house tech support for Management. Muahahahahaha.) -
For those situations, it's best to pull the enemy away from the hostage. I discovered this bit of wisdom when doing the safeguard jailbreak where the cops were being held hostage by Warhulks. If you don't pull them far away from the hostages, they die when the hulks go blam and you don't get credit for them.

I'm getting ready to give my Peacebringer her respec for inherent fitness, and am wondering if this is a useful plan I have come up with for her. My objectives on the sets were for endurance, recharge, and damage. She is technically dual form, but since inherent fitness freed up 3 power picks, I went ahead and added Dwarf as an IO mule power (and a quick mez counter).
How is this? Is this a decent plan, or did I inadvertently gimp any majorly important powers here?
