One thing to keep in mind is that it can be useful to give your pets various procs. (Achilles Heel -res for mercs is a particularly "easy" choice)
Don't overdo it though: AH doesen't stack, but with just the three basic mercs keeping their shooting up they can keep a constant resistance debuff up relatively easily.
Other than that... I don't really know either. Honestly, I'm in the same bucket as you are with MM's. "What the hell should I build for?" -
Beast Mastery. Duh.
"Granny, how many cousins you have!" -

Okay, let me just say this: I love Arachnos.
First, they have a great look. From Wolf Spiders to crabs and banes, they just look cool. (especially the Huntsmen) and the Fortunatas have an interesting look too (although their helmets raise so many questions RE: logistics) sure, the Mu look kind of weird and not in a good way (I mean, floating straitjacket-people that shoot lightning? Not really "arcane might" to me) but otherwise they've all got a great look.
I love the patrons and their sidekicks. By and large these guys just have so much more personality than their heroside counterparts (and almost as much as the praetorians) they're just a great group of villains, and they all have their own little theme going, and they again, look great.
So yeah, props to Arachnos for being a really cool-looking bunch of guys. -

Quote:I used to think so as well.Hurricane really annoys me, as well. There are two things in this game that I will never get, and they're PBAoE knockback and PBAoE repel. Hurricane has a very nice debuff, which I would really like to apply to my enemies, only I can't because the power keeps pushing them out of range. Yes, I guess I could corner enemies with it, but this is rarely reliable even with the much broader front of Force Bubble, let alone the much more curved front of the considerably smaller Hurricane.
Like Hand Clap, these powers just seem to cause more problems than they solve in almost every case I've tried to use them. And I'm the kind of guy who LIKES Dimension Shift and Detention Field.
Then I saw some guy bring Repel to the BAF. Hilarious. -
I always envisioned Perez Park as the "first mystical zone", giving us our first real fight with the COT, and possibly Hellions. The arc could focus on the hellions being up to something and the COT being revealed as the masterminds behind it. We've had a lotof mystic stuff though, so might not fit.
I agree about Port Oakes and St. Martial, both of these needs revamps: Port Oakes mainly in content (the zone LOOKS fine) more mafia-style infighting, wedding-crashing, and well... that kind of stuff.
St. Martial needs to be prettied up. Move the docks away from the Arachnos Fort (and have ti be more away in the distance) and have you come up directly up main street with all the casions and glitter, with the Golden Giza dominating the frame, then have it move into the Carnival area on one side, and slowly into shanty town/swamp. Basically it needs to be a glitzy front with a seedy backside, and we need to see it that way. -
Quote:My thoughts was actually the opposite, while KM involves arm-waving it feels less like you're actually *hitting* people, and more like you're projecting energy.Kinetic Melee has far too much arm-waving, I'm afraid. You're right, the concept is not bad, but the visuals just don't match up to what I want. Granted, Electric Melee also has a more "physical" appearance to it, including Thunder Strike which is a jump up. However, it's still a slower, more conservative kind of motion, and it looks like there's less physical exertion to it.

What are your feelings about KM?
It feels a bit like EM or Elec, in that (especially if colored correctly) it can be interpreted as channeling energy, it also has a bunch of "melee ranged" attacks. (Burst, Focused Burst) seems like it would look pretty cool if you want a good to fight. It's also barehanded. -

Time to say what we want for staffs:
-Spear (w/ tassel as a option, heck you could probably have an "option" with a bunch of variants like prongs, tassels, different spearheads, etc.)
-Halberd (although that could be used with the Titan's Weapon as well...)
-Glaive
(Okay, I'll stop there or it'll start sounding like 2nd. ed. D&D's weapons inventory)
-Runestaff (with glowing runes!)
-Ornate staff (gold, with gems and such)
-Both of the above should have the option of a knob in the end.
-Natural staff (rougher than the "polished wood" look we have)
-Energy Staff.
-Icicle (stalactite as alternate skin) -
Basically, I have concept for a kin melee. Scrapper or Stalker would work. I don't know what to pick.
Stalkers are nice now, and their losses seems to be Repulsing Torrent (KB cone? Eh... I can live without that) and Siphon Power, which I'm a bit more worried about.
So, how does a kin stalker look nowadays? -
Quote:If we believe Maelstrom's backstory, Primal Earth was infiltrating Praetoria before they knew of Primal Earth's existence.
I'll say it again: Cole wanted to invade Primal Earth, slaughter any resistance there, and enslave the remaining population before any of this Incarnate business even began. You can't handwave that no matter how much of a pretzel you twist your arm into. -
Quote:You do know Disney has had superhero genre stuff for years, right? There's been an italian Paperinik comic for quite a while......'Cause that's JUST what this game needs, references to "Disney verses."
I'm not really coming up with any other Marvel/DC halfbreeds other than Tigra and the truly craptacular Beta Ray Bill when casting my mind over those specific universe, but if you say there's a metric ton of them, whatevs.
Demanding player access to the CoX version of Beta Ray Bill strikes me as making about as much sense as going over to Lord of the Rings Online and saying, "WHAT THIS GAME NEEDS IS SOME GIANT MORPHING ROBOTS, YEAH!"
Lord of the Rings is fantasy, they have no robots that I know of and this would be inappropriate to expect giant robots in that MMO. [Analogies never work, yet I try anyways] We already have enough furries behaving disgracefully in Pocket D, can't see a need to make the problem worse. Be grateful we have as much furry stuff as we do. -
More weapons would be awesome.
I've been missing a cavalry sabre for a long time. (IE: Basket-hilted curved sword for BS/DB)
Also a slightly more realistic-looking two-hander for Titan Weapons, more polearms for Staff Fighting, etc. -
Quote:There's a ton of half-human half-animal-type superheroes, not just Tigra. And that's just talking DC/Marvel, and not say... The various Disney verses. It is a bad thing.
The hilarious-yet-feelings-of-squeamishness-inducing Furry universe is one thing; however this game is straying so far from its original theme. I don't really feel that superheroes have much to do with Furries, Tigra to the side. Why are we looking at them in this game?
Can't really say that I yearn to see katana-wielding dogs, computer-using foxes or Shield-wearing wolves, but evidently everyone else is honing to jump right on the concept so c'est la vie. -
Quote:Er, Arachnos is roughly 1/4th magic. (Between the Widows, Various robots, Spiders and Mu)With very magical Portal Corp possessed scientists running around.
Also nothing concrete yet, but given what Prometheus said on the subject, it could very well turn out all these parallel worlds are all the result of magical Ascended beings.
Even the Rikti have been 'infected' with magic. Vanguard too is purposefully magic heavy because the Rikti were once very susceptible to it.
Also at 50:
Rularuu, Banished Pantheon, Knives/Talons of Vengeance (becoming progressively more magical), Arachnos (which is roughly 50% magic with their Mu mystics), Tsoo (more magical now than ever) not to mention the Midnight Club factoring into just about everything now.

Quote:Is Galactus magical? Is the Phoenix Force? The High Evolutionary? Darkseid?"He" very clearly is magically based, except in the silly this-is-not-the-magic-you-are-looking-for sense the lore is trying to pull off. Really, for all intents and purposes, we're getting out Incarnate powers by making a deal with the devil...and we don't even get to read the contract.

Quote:Or if you put it another way, SUPER natural. You know, one thing i find an interesting bit of interpretation. the idea of dark astoria and the various gods involved to be magical. by strict definition, they would be natural, they may have crazy powers, but nothing inconsistent with what their usually defined powers are. so i'd even take da off the list of strictly magical, its just BIG natural.

Quote:To be fair, that's kind of always been the Avenger's schtick (as opposed to the Justice League)
I have to agree with you on this one Sam....but I think it's more indemic of what's happening in superhero and entertainment culture generally more than anything else. Look at the Avengers trailer, for example. It can't be this group of cool heroes coming together to fight evil, it has to be the impending end of humankind and the team straining under the weight of their collective egos. -
It's really not the right shade of blue to be UN blue. (but then again, the contact in SC wears a red beret, so what the heck do I know?)

Hmmm, I'm pretty damn sure Marauder isn't resistant to Psi. (at least not if the orange numbers aren't lying, which is possible)

He only summons his army when he's at relatively low health, since the STF tends to disable his disco-rays first and then wail on him, he often doesen't have time too.
