STAFF you all!
Looks like there might be a staff infection going around

I haven't purchased Staff yet simply because I have no plans to make a staff-wielding character. However, if I do make one, it's likely to be a magical character.
The selection of staves available leaves rather a lot to be desired in this direction. The closest things we get to spears or pole-axes are the 'Trident' and 'Tech' models. I guess a witch might fight with the broom model.
Also missing are any kind of runed staves, fantasy-themed staves, or magic-show-themed staves.
Consider the following scepter and pole-axe wielding magical girls from everyone's favorite sailor-suited anime:
These themes would be pretty easy to duplicate without making exact copies. 'Royal Scepter', 'Magical Poleaxe', and 'Huge Key' seem like they'd be no-brainers to add to this set... and fairly straightforward to model.
So any ETA on new Stave concepts?
Is there going to be a Staff Weapon Pack like what there was with Titan Weapons? Because the weapon selection that's already there is really not enough. Not in the slightest, in fact.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.
Time to say what we want for staffs:
-Spear (w/ tassel as a option, heck you could probably have an "option" with a bunch of variants like prongs, tassels, different spearheads, etc.)
-Halberd (although that could be used with the Titan's Weapon as well...)
-Glaive
(Okay, I'll stop there or it'll start sounding like 2nd. ed. D&D's weapons inventory)
-Runestaff (with glowing runes!)
-Ornate staff (gold, with gems and such)
-Both of the above should have the option of a knob in the end.
-Natural staff (rougher than the "polished wood" look we have)
-Energy Staff.
-Icicle (stalactite as alternate skin)
"Men strunt r strunt och snus r snus
om ock i gyllne dosor.
Och rosor i ett sprucket krus
r stndigt alltid rosor."
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.

There actually is an algorithm for pleasing everyone. It's written in a forgotten language around the inside of the holy grail, one of the items in the ark of the covenant, which is either on Terra Australis or got lost in the mail.

Also, I'm disappointed that the bladed staff still salps with the side of the blade. Guess I won't be using that after all.
I still bought the set and I'll still use it, just not sure what for yet.

I like to see a nemesis staff look would be nice to unlock.
Onibi---Fire/Fire/fire Blaster
I'm ready to burn it all.

ParadigmX City help the city.
Make a man a fire and keep him warm for the day, SET a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.
Incarnates: K'lir(Fire/Dark Corr):Hot-House Flower(Plant/Fire Dom):Kinrad X(Kin/Rad Def):Itsy-Bitsy Spider(Crab):Two Ton Tony(Mace/WP Broot):Teeny Weeny Widow(Fortunata/Widow) : Zeroth Law (Ice/Fire Tank)
Similarly, I think Titan Weapons could use a proper tree trunk with roots and a version of the old "crumble" aura fixed to the root end.
Titan Weapons had nothing like enough weapons when it launched, but they released a weapon pack for it and that brought it up to a respectable number. Are there enough now? Of course not, there will never be enough in general. But there's enough variety in the weapons that it DOES have to make two, three and even more characters out of it.

I was fully prepared to dismiss Staff Fighting...then I went to Paragon Wiki and read the power list.
It has a ranged attack.
I went back and read it again...yep, wasn't hallucinating.
There's another melee set for Tanks that doesn't have a ground only ranged attack (KM was the first I believe).
I'm in. The only question is Tank, Broot, or Scrapper.
No thank you. Redraw is trash.
While the weapon selection does seem a bit small there are some nice staves in the lot. The high tech blade still hits sideways, but many heroes do tend to smack with the flat of a blade to reduce lethality against softer targets, so i guess there's that explanation. For villains i guess it's because it hurts more? i guess.
Anyway, interesting set, but i haven't played it much yet. Later i hope.
The problem, as I see it, with the TW weapon selection is that aside from one axe, none of them look like regular weapons just made huge. They are all bizarre instruments out of some toymaker's nightmare (or refugees from other MMOs/video games). That might appeal to a select group of players who like their characters to look as twisted and demented as possible, but it feels uncharacteristically narrow (for CoX) in its thematic scope.

The crossbuck is a definite refugee from a train simulator game, and i swear the I-beam and lump of concrete weapon was stolen from Sim City: Toy Story Edition, so i see your point about all the weapons except the axe being refugees from other video games and/or toymakers' nightmares. On the plus side there are more weapons coming for Titan Weapons, but they probably won't be to your taste since at least one has a scifi feel.
*snerk*
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
The model there confirms to the proportions that show up in the original artist's work. Naoko Takeuchi tends to draw her characters very elongated... but only when they've transformed into their 'Sailor Guardian' identities.

Hrm...so according to the description in game, Serpent's Strike is a targeted aoe for tanks. Is that a typo?
