All Hail Arachnos!

Okay, let me just say this: I love Arachnos.

First, they have a great look. From Wolf Spiders to crabs and banes, they just look cool. (especially the Huntsmen) and the Fortunatas have an interesting look too (although their helmets raise so many questions RE: logistics) sure, the Mu look kind of weird and not in a good way (I mean, floating straitjacket-people that shoot lightning? Not really "arcane might" to me) but otherwise they've all got a great look.

I love the patrons and their sidekicks. By and large these guys just have so much more personality than their heroside counterparts (and almost as much as the praetorians) they're just a great group of villains, and they all have their own little theme going, and they again, look great.

So yeah, props to Arachnos for being a really cool-looking bunch of guys.

The Midnighters will keep watch on Arachnos, striking them down when the time is right!

Who couldn't like Arachnos? They have Cap'n Mako, lord of the seven seas, the four oceans, and a number of inlets and fjords. He's Cap'n...of my heart.

The condition fo the Rogue Isles suggests that being clean isn't big on their list of priorities.

i like how they go by "survival of the fittest", and ive already proven myself the top of the food chain so recluse bows to me now lol

and with the heroes being as weak as they are none shall oppose me!

They wear black to hide the dirt.

They looked better back in the '60s. All the fashion trends for today's modern henchmen have been a big step back in taste, if you ask me.
This is the kind of guy you want running your volcano lair:

Wearing that armor while building and elaborate deathtrap would be dangerous.

As soon as we saw those, I begged, BEGGED, for the Historical Arachnos costumes to be an alternate costume model for slot 0 on Arachnos Soldier and Arachnos Widow characters. I still wish it would happen.

Same here. I love that 1960s look.

I wonder if they might revisit 60s Arachnos in a future version of the Blockbuster Summer event as part of a retro spy movie?

That would be kind of cool.

Also, I'd like more spotlight on the Patron's sidekicks. They all have their own TF, but apart from Wretch and to a lesser degree Silver Mantis they don't have much personality. More of them!

(more of the patrons too)

Now wait one moment, Golden Girl. There's lots of light colored dirts, believe it or not. I mean how many times have you had to clean a dark coated horse of light, sandy colored dust?

Also, I kind of feel Arachnos has terrible designs. They put pointless spikes on everything that only succeed in letting grappling hooks snare around them, their "all shiny black and huge, unnecessary pipes" are an eyesore (and I already hate French Gothic architecture. I'm more an Art Nouveau or Art Deco man myself), their interior design sense is worse, they put in wire mesh floors with holes in them the size of golf balls and then force women to wear stiletto heels and end the legs of all their spider bots in tiny, sharp points.

And most of all: the fliers are ugly and impractical in design! Absolutely disgusting and offend my aesthetic senses!

I suppose being hideous and lacking any real fashion or artistic senses is the point of Arachnos though.

I should note that this might be because my aesthetic sense is painfully realistic at times. In a prose piece I was writing for RP, one of my characters was supposed to have trouble against fliers while piloting a highly customized Longbow Chaser. Problem was that in my mind, it was impossible for a much sleeker and jet-like VTOL to be easily beaten by things with no sense of aerodynamics and have been seen in game to have the speed and maneuverability of a rabid, pregnant, yak.

I would like the Heroes to have sidekicks like the villains do, and have much better cossies. GW, Sci, BS and Mako have much better cossies than the heroes.

Rockshock (Druid Tanker), Medicat (Combat Medic), Dwarf From the North (Ice Mage), Rocket Gal (Energy Blaster), Graveborn (Undead Mastermind), Streeker (Punching Speedster), Op. Sidewinder (Recluse's pet Spider)

While reading the first quote, I couldn't help thinking about SSA#1 and what it's done to the phalanx. The second quote made me think, 'Hey! Penelope Yin needs a sidekick!'
