    Purchase Error

Alternatively, you might consider buying the box at one of your local stores (if you have a place nearby like Best Buy or others that carry video games). Same price plus you get an updated install disk.

You are almost there... on PI you need 5 radios to unlock one bank+contact..

    [/ QUOTE ]

To clarify - and you're actually told this by the detectives as you go up, btw - At level 5-10 and 10-15, you only need three. At either 15-20 or 20-25, I believe, the detective tells you you need to do more, and from that point on, it's five contacts for an unlock.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's actually by detective/zone instead of level. I tested this a while back and showed that at level 20 (and even 21) you can get a Steel Canyon Safeguard in Faultline after doing only 3 missions. But if you are in Indy or Talos, it's 5. However, I believe that 21 is the cutoff point for Faultline.

Lethal Weapon-3, if I remember correctly.
  4. And to quote some Family thug in Indy...

"I always say, if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, riddle them with bullets."
  5. You might not miss out on badges, but there are quite a few neat temp powers that you will miss which can't be had via flashback.

Talk to Unai Kemen. Do his missions until you get to one with Demons in it. Do the mission but do not complete it. Select another mission to force reset on your demon mission. Do the mission again. Repeat.

If you are doing it solo, then /leaveteam will put you back outside the mission and reset it automatically.

That's a fun one too. And I remember a while back someone posting screenshots of the cutscene in which they inserted their zombies who were all making mildly lewd comments to LG. That was a work of art there.

Had to change the name of a character whose last name was 'Whitman' (common spelling, as in Walt Whitman) because the word 'hitman' in "profane."
Apparently there's a DC character that uses that as a name.

I could just see another of the big publishers deciding to get into the super hero MMO market and concoct an evil plan to preemptively kill the competition without resorting to litlgation... Hmmm... This is starting to sound like an AE arc. Anyway:

Encourage employees to get trial accounts.

Monitor the heavily populated zones and take notes on really good sounding names and creative costumes.

Report back to the corporation's big archvillain their findings.

Publish a one shot or miniseries a few months later that make use of all these names and looks.

Wait for comics fans who play CoX but are not employees of said evil corporation to loyally report all these sudden trademark violations.

    Mass genericings ensue

Mass exodus from the game ensues

    Fade to black.

Evil corporation unveils their new shiny super hero MMO.

Corporation's top archvillain instructs his cronies and shareholders to laugh with him. AH-Hah-hah-hah-hah...

Okay. The above scenario is unlikely. The PHBs that tend to run these organizations are not that ingenious (I don't think at least). But it could still happen. However, I suspect a more likely tactic would involve getting the competition involved in litigation over something even more idiotic in imaginary property laws... software patents.

There's also the day job accolade jet pack. However, it is also limited to 40+ for heroes, since it requires spending time in the Shadow Shard (making it pretty useless since you can buy jetpacks any time by the time you would get the accolade).

There is also the Jingle Jet which you have a random chance of getting when someone gives you a Holiday Cheer from the WInter Event. That one lasts 30 days real time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can always purchase the $5 Jet Pack from the NCStore too. It lasts 30 real days and is available for all characters on your account.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hah. Bill a few posts up beat you to the punch on that one. So on behalf of him whether he wants it or not...

    Neener!

  13. Best you can hope for is to find someone who can do the Valentine's Day missions for DJ Zero and tag along to get the Toga and sandals/laurel.

When is it okay to kick?

    [/ QUOTE ]

When the player in question suddenly gets that logout timer over their head in the middle of a TF with no advance warning. Kick before the timer reaches 0 to make sure they really really are off the team and not leeching in any way.

[/ QUOTE ] And when they log back in after having been mapserved, and they are out of the TF?...

    [/ QUOTE ]

To elaborate on this, it depends on how they have been playing through the TF thus far. In in the incident that brought up this situation, the player was not playing along with our tactics. This was a mission that required careful pulling and concentration of firepower instead of jumping into the middle of everything and letting loose with the carnage.

Instead, we had on our hands a scrapper who thought he could tank, and kept getting the living daylights pounded out of him despite clear signals from the tactical leader of where we all needed to gather for the pull.

Instead, he kept jumping in and aggroing 2 or more groups at once (one of which in one incident included a pretty tough EB.)

In the final mission of the arc, after the AV beat us for the second time, he entered the mission and started logging out. Judging by his previous behavior and his near silence throughout the arc, I guessed he would not be coming back, so went ahead and kicked him at the last possible second.

At least this was just a MA arc and not a full-blown TF.

So to expand on my previous statement...

Aett is never wrong, but does occasionally leave scraps for the rest of us.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, but he clearly said "There are two IOs that give -KB" when there are clearly three.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Two IOs...more than two SETS. Big difference. Never gave a definitive number of sets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blessing of the Zephyr: Knockback Protection (4 Points) Global: this enhancement functions like a set bonus..

    Aett is still wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's also the Kinetic Crash set as well. Four of those give an additional 3 points of KB protection.

Also, for the OP, since your character is a tank, you will probably want at least 12 points, perhaps 15 or 16 points of protection. When you hit the higher levels, you will be fighting a lot of Nemesis. And if you are getting knocked all over the place by those Fake Nemi robots, you are not going to be very effective as a tank.

I play my Necro/Dark in melee. She has the pets, she's not nuts, but also has Boxing, Kick, and AS, but none of the ranged attacks. Doing fine as of the mid-teens, we'll see how long she can stick it out. When the MM is in melee, the pets seem to need less "go to melee" ordering, and she's in the perfect spot to heal all of them too. Dark is a very good set for this style.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a shame the radius on the MM version of Twilight Grasp is so pathetically small. It really needs increased by at least 5 feet.
  19. My MMs each only have their tier 2 attack so far, plus Sands of Mu and the Temp Power Trio (Hammer, Slammer, and Blammer). They will eventually get a second attack once their troops have what they need.

Still, they get in there and fight alongside their followers when not healing and buffing. Their philosophy was taken from Johnny Blasts the Bugmen (the movie based on the Starship Troopers book).

    "Everyone fights. Nobody quits."

If they want to generic an alt for having a green clover because it reminds them that Lucky Charms cereal also has green clovers, they can and the only thing that you can do about it is:

    a. Escalate the case with customer services
    b. leave the game if they don't see it your way and if you have no other choice than to worry about a costume
    c. complain on the forums and wait for the thread to be deleted and yourself get reprimanded by a Moderator, which serves no purpose other than to draw attention to your ignorance that the game doesn't revolve around you or what you "feel" should be done if things don't go your way.

    Did I leave anything out?

    [/ QUOTE ]

D: Post a warning on the forums about the dangers of using a green clover so others won't make that same mistake.

Doing a Google search for Nexus Argos came up with full bio page with photo.
    https://www.virtueverse.com/index.ph...;printable=yes
The character is almost an exact clone of Captain Mar'vell, even the bio. The kicker? at the bottom of the page it reads "Character influenced by Captain Mar-vell from Marvel Comics "

    [/ QUOTE ]

    There's no resemblance there!

    [/ QUOTE ]

The original costume looks pretty generic as is. I don't see where it stands out any from countless other Silver-Age style 3 color tights/cowl/cape/boots costumes.

Had I seen that guy running around Paragon, I would not have given it a second thought and definitely would not have immediately thought Captain Marvel.
  22. It is definitely worth it to get the Architect edition. If I calculated correctly. The total cost (taking into account the $10 booster pack included and the $15 worth of game time) makes the total cost roughly negative 5 dollars.

And while you are at it, you should go ahead and buy the Mac edition as well. That gives another month of game time and adds more costume options, for a net cost of $5 due to the game time.

In my experience, I clear all the mobs around her, trying to avoid her aggro if possible, and then load up on lots of purples. Then she's manageable.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Biggest problem there is that at the level you are when you face her, you will run out of inspirations way too fast. In addition to purples, you will need breakfrees for that KB from her hurricane, and yellows for the - to hit...etc.
  24. More slots for costumes yes.

Unlockable or purchasable with merits or tickets: yes

    Purchase with real money: no.

Exception: Include a costume slot with each booster pack (better retroactively apply it to the Valkyrie, Magic, and Cyborg packs of course)
  25. Yes yes yes yes.

I've had a few too many instances (just one time is too many) where I have been on a kill all, there are only a couple enemies left, and then a mapserver occurs.

Then when I log back in, the mission has reset. Most of the time when this happens, I have already used my drop, so I end up having to go through it all again.

    So in short...
