Accomplishment Badges

If I miss some of the Accomplishment Badges as I am leveling (Negotiator, Spelunker, etc), is it possible to use Ouroboros to get these badges?

I know it is possible to team with someone doing those quest as they are leveling and get the badge, but that would be hard to find groups for the 20+ ones.

yes, most of them are in ouro

Where can I find which ones are not available?

Also, thanks for the fast reply.

Actually ALL of them are available in Ouroboros. (Well at least the badge missions.)

The only mission-realted badge you can't get from Ouroboros is Efficiency Expert (given by Efficiency Expert Pither in Grandville). Partially because you're only supposed to get one shot at the badge, partially because the badge isn't given for any single mission, but rather for completing all of Pither's timed missions (which are not connected in any way except to count for the badge).

Thanks for replies.

So really, I miss out on almost nothing by skipping contacts and playing as a police band vigilante. Since I can experience it later in a flashback.

You might not miss out on badges, but there are quite a few neat temp powers that you will miss which can't be had via flashback.

You will get the temp powers if you complete the arc, as you would have normally when leveling. I got wedding ring a second time, full charge, but third times and after will only be 5 minutes charge, I also got bow and arrow again (full charge) and I have gotten Amy (full charge) several times.

That's true for temp powers from Story Arcs and Badge Missions, but a lot of good temp powers come from stand alone missions that cannot be accessed via flashback.

Lots of awesome temp powers like those in Striga can be (re)acquired from Ouroboros, but there are a ton of temps that can ONLY be gained through the real contacts, because they are not part of an arc and provide no badge.

I've seriously considered the idea of rolling a rad/rad defender (or equivalently impressive debuffer) and using an attack chain composed almost entirely of temp powers... my ice/storm controller already does, given how pathetic his actual 'attacks' are.

Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

This page has whether you can re-earn the temp power or not.

EDIT: Huh...apparently it doesn't...I thought it had. It lists if you can re-earn them with normal use, re-earn them with "echo" use, or lose them upon mish-complete/mish-turnin. But it doesn't say if you can't get them at all.

Looks like something we need to cook up.

From browsing the list it looks like if it has either Ouroboros icon, it means you can get it through flashback, but if it doesn't you cannot. At least I haven't noticed one yet without the icon that can be obtained through flashback.

Edit: found a couple that are part of story arcs, which means you can get them through Flashback:
Psychic Cleaver (Contact 40-44) (also disappears after the arc I believe.)
Vahzilok Wasting Disease (Contact 15-19) (but who would 'want it' anyway?)

I did note though that the Pieces of the Wheel of Destruction temporary powers have changed since Issue 13. The mission was changed to have a cutscene when Archos appears, and the powers now disappear at mission complete when Archos is defeated, rather than expiring after their timer wears out, or when you talk to the contact.

Also, the Safeguard/Mayhem missions are not available via flashback. You'll have to find someone at the appropriate level and accompany them.

The flashback versions of some powerful temps are "echo" versions, and not as good.

EDIT: As pointed out by Mateo, the original poster will be doing radio missions exclusively, so getting the temp powers and badges from the Safeguard missions shouldn't be a problem.

[/ QUOTE ] True. I think we skipped that because we assume the OP was doing them anyway: "I miss out on almost nothing by skipping contacts and playing as a [u]police band vigilante[u]."

O.o

Yes, that would make sense. Thank you Mateo.

[/ QUOTE ]I believe they always expired at the end of the arc; people would just quit the Flashback or not finish the arc to make use of them.

I remember I always finished the mission (non-flashback) but didn't talk to the contact until the individual timers would run out. If teammates took the temp powers, then they would not disappear if the contact was called, but still had timers on them.
But now, the powers disappear as soon as mission complete comes up (and arc completion merits are rewarded).
