Right because no trial has reported failures within the first week of going live. We all ran MoM and Underground perfectly from the get go.

It's no different than any other trial with a hard end boss.
  2. Are you talking about Catalysts or Converters Ironblade?

Catalysts are the rare drops in Incarnate Content that transform an ATO into it's Purple form. You can't use them on anything else.

And to the OP, if you're waiting for non-ATO sets you're probably going to be waiting a while. They've already confirmed a new round of super packs with a 2nd set of ATOs coming.
  3. Trials always get first dibs on new goodies. Solo stuff gets added later. That's just the name of the game now. People can still unlock and slot the first 5 slots on their own

Well, sorta. If players were -only- farming the 250 and never running it to completion? That's a Dev problem. But they're not, so it isn't.
  6. here's a simple question:

Which would people have been more angry about?

Gating the slot behind a new kind of XP only available through the trial or letting it unlock via normal XP but gating the abilities behind new salvage available in the trial?

Pretty sure people would be way more up in arms about the latter.
  7. Anyone consider maybe that's -why- the trial is front loaded to begin with?

The only reason it's a grind is that it's the initial way to unlock. There'll be more later. Just like with BAF/Lambda.
  8. I wasn't really thrilled by the arcs but I generally liked the characters. And I'm curious if we'll ever see Flambeaux's break from the team and her descent into villainy.

Grym also showed up in DA in the Dream Doctor's finale.

How long did it take for the lag in the ITF to get fixed without reducing the number of mobs? Because that's sort of the same thing we're looking at with this mission.
A traditional method like just using several waves of ambushes instead of spawning everything at once? A method they never tried in the beta?

That's sort of the problem. We saw 1 patch that attempted to fix it (it did not) but they never tried to tweak the actual mission numbers for folks to test.

My ageless, agility, and reactive all show along with my other buffs but Assault does not under any circumstance.

As a fire primary I am still glad I went with it though b/c the damage boost on my fire attacks is very healthy. On an ill/rad I would probably not go the assault route. YMMV. I would need to think about which one to go with..I know support does affect pets but not sure about others.
Reading under the threads about the slot, I think that stuff is -supposed- to affect pets but is currently not.
  11. You're not going to get in trouble

At worst you'll just not be able to get missions from the contacts if it's some bug they 'fix'. But again, they don't offer anything really that's all that important. The repeatables are just random missions. Fireball and Trilogy are very poor 'arcs'. It isn't like they give you something you shouldn't have except play experience.
  12. Frankly, any Mastermind is going to be pretty good for solo play. You're a one man army, the only time you may have problems on your own is hitting an elite boss or the like. There are 'bad' Primaries, but that's pretty subjective and even the worst primary still makes a more solo'able character than say, most blasters.

Two strong combos off the top of my head are bots/traps and zombies/dark.

Bots/traps synergizes well because one of the bots has a defense shield and traps has the forcefield generator, resulting in some very nice stacked defenses, which can be boosted even higher with certain unique invention enhancements. You've also got good debuffs with the Acid Mortar (reduces resistance and defense) Poison Trap (can hold foes and -floors- their health regeneration) and seeker drones (Good to summon in a spawn to draw their alpha, then explodes and can stun and drops their to-hit)

Alternately, Bots/Force Field. Same idea, stacking the big Defense shields on top of each other.

Zombies/dark miasma is a lil squishier but Dark has a -lot- of tools for survivor, almost everything that targets enemies causes a -to Hit, which is as good as adding defense. it's got very strong enemy targeted heal, a debuff slow patch, an aura that gives stealth, defense and certain types of resistance, a rez, an extremely good fear power, a hold, an ally rez that doubles as a stun and floors regen. It's an amazing little tool box.

I'm sure others can talk more about good comboes. Heck, 'Beast' is considered one of the lower tier primaries but I've been having a blast with my beast/time (between fortify pack and far sight, I can nearly soft cap defense for a boss battle).
  13. Pfff. Don't be crazy. Statesman has always been a mekman.

that is pretty silly though. MA is basically fan fiction and in game justified as virtual reality. There's no reason to remove them from there. Nothing says an arc couldn't be written before their deaths, or in an alternate timeline where they didn't die, etc.

you were lucky. When I mapserved it'd kick me back to log in after 25 seconds.

Sorta. In his own mind he's a hero. He had a noble goal but developed an 'any means to an end' ideology and was blinded by his own pride that -He- had to make the hard choices and what he chose was right for everyone, using madmen and maniacs to build his 'perfect' utopia. But in his mind he's still on the side of law and justice.
  16. I don't know if it's a bug or not. Honestly my instinct is to say 'no'.

The main draw of First Ward and Night Ward are the ongoing storylines they add to the game. That's basically what they're selling, like the individual SSA arcs, only it's a whole zone worth.

The 5 contacts in First Ward just offer a small handful of repeatable missions. It's like newspaper missions for those zones. There are no end of arc rewards, no massive chunk of experience, no reward merits, just the standard single mission completion rewards.

This is the same for Sir Lionel and Atherton (sp?) Cromwell in Nightward. I finally found them after I hit 30, I assume their level range is 30-39 like the First Ward contacts are 20-29. Interestingly, both are available to Heroes and Villains, though the Drudge is -definitely- more villain flavored.

I'm not sure if Fireball and Trilogy have end arc rewards though. So, they might just be exceptions.

But I'd guess that it's okay they're available to everyone. At least I don't really see why the Devs would feel it's an integral part of the zone's experience to tie it up in the purchase. Just think of it as a taste of what the zone stories offer.

True, I meant it seemslike them in the "Hey, go do this" "Oh, beat up that guy". That is, no story, just random missions.

Honestly, for two contacts whose 'arcs' can range 30 to 50, Fireball and Trilogy are pretty weak as arcs go, compared to the really well done lowbie arcs added last issue to Steel Canyon and Cap.

Is Fireball even an arc? it seems more like newspaper missions.

I haven't gotten to play much in Night Ward proper yet, but I have been taunted. Interestingly enough, it was on my 50, by a level 30 black knight. So, taunts will probably be a mechanic that'll have to be tweaked in the future.

Nope. Giant Monsters are unique enemies. Monsters are as you see listed.

When there is a word in existence in the game for a specific entity or type of entitiy, you don't use that word elsewhere to refer to other entities or types of entities. It only creates confusion, as evidenced here.

I was envisioning Jurassik, Hatched Kraken, Devouring Earth Monsters in PI, and other entities already classed as Monster in the game. I was even willing to include Giant Monsters in that description.

For some odd reason I was thinking Minotaur's and Cyclops were in the Monster class but they are just Elite Bosses (are they just Bosses in the Sister Solaris arc that is part of the DA arcs?).
Yeah fairly certain they mean 'monster' as in 'enemy', because the Black Knights have staff wielders that -definitely- taunt you.

And I think Minos and Clops are generally EBs, except in the Solaris arc. Even so it's whole mobs of them at boss level.
  22. I don't believe the patch notes actually meant Monsters as in the class of Devouring Earth seen on Monster Isle and in the Hive/Abyss.

Night Ward has no Monster class enemies, but plenty of enemies that Taunt you.
  23. pretty sure the lightning damage is untyped instead of energy.

Having the level shifts from popping the wells helped, if I had one up I could heal back fast enough with Twilight grasp to not die.

Stil generally easier to just jump back though.
