Quote:I never seem to have a problem with this, and I don't have the feature enabled.Since I came back to game at the beginning of the month I've found something new to me. I'm used to blind invites to teams, but constant blind invites to SGs? I can't walk through Atlas Park on an 'unaffiliated' toon without this.
Does anyone else have this problem, or know of it? I figure the next time it happens I'll start stocking my global ignore list. Only after consideration is offered to publishing said globals here and embarassing the players.
Come on guys. If you want SG mates team with them, show em what you got and maybe they'll join.
But this is annoying. Enough, please! -
I spend about that on my smokes every month, maybe Bud quit smoking to fund his CoH addiction.
But anyway, here's a simple solution that I've used over the years to solve the lack of character slots.
Step 1. Play a character to 50.
Step 2. If already have 1 of said Powerset or Archetype and have overlapping effects (debuffs/buffs/dmg) on multiple characters then choose a favorite and delete either the new 50, or the old 50.
Step 3. Make new 50
So you wind up with less characters, or a character for everything.
Here is a general run-down of the 10 active 50s that I have on my main account. Whenever I find something more fun/more effective than previous toon in a certain category the old gets wiped/deleted and replace by the new one. I've only gone through about 37 deleted 50s so far, the systems works well.

Finely came back to fix this post.
Here is what I've been tweaking currently in Mids and may possibly switch into from my current setup.

Drowning Pool: Bodies

Quote:Correct. An easy way to make influence is to run AE arcs and then do bronze rolls in the 10-14 (correct me on this one if I'm wrong, never used this method myself). There aren't very many recipes in that category, so you have quite a nice chance of scoring a -KB IO or the Steadfast 3% Def. I'm not sure what other more expensive stuff fall into the 10-14 range.
-
If you want something unique, fun and challenging try Dark Armor.

I am currently looking into switching towards Power Mastery, but here's the current setup.

Steadfast Proc. Relatively Cheap. GET ONE :P
You're under slotting on Endurance Redux so instead of fixing that I see you're going the Physical Perfection route. I'd suggest otherwise.
One with the Shield. Shnazzy sometimes, but you can do without. Defense is your money maker for this combo.
Now i didn't go over and make an bunch of changes here, i made 3 simple ones and raised your defense to everything by about 8% and softcaped your melee defense. All I did was drop Focused Accuracy, One with the Shield and picked up Combat Jumping and Maneuvers. As well as added a Steadfast proc in your True Grit. Now I don't recommend doing it the way I made the changes, but it's just an example of how easily you can up your defense and not hurt yourself. Don't want to go hog wild with IO Sets? Well then don't, just use the tools that are already at your disposal. Pool power choices that increase defense. Amazing I know.
So here ya go, VERY minor changes.

There are a ton of Elec/Shield builds floating around the scrapper forums. Take 10 minutes and look deeper.

Play around with this as a base, you might come up with something you like.

Secondly if i'm below level 47 i loose my set bonuses which makes me useless in ANY TF etc below that level. Without being soft capped i get owned. thus i never play below 50.
There are quite a few ways to fix that, certain powers don't need to have lvl 50 enhancements in them to shine, on one hand you have your defense which I do agree should be lvl 50 stuff. Other than that putting some sets in at lower levels can really help you rock even when exemp'd. Steadfast proc you can pick up at lvl 10, and Gladiator/Shield Wall Procs work no matter your level. Reactive Armor caps at 40 as does Touch of Death, and depending on how you slot your travel powers you can also pick up the Blessing of the Zephyr set in the teen levels. There are plenty of ways to make yourself solid no matter how low you exemp. -
I run no fitness builds on my kin and emp defenders which is easily doable with those two as long as you've got some solid recharge (way past perma hasten with mine) to throw into your RAs/Conserve Power.

This is a build I made for a friend who was extremely frustrated by his Spines/DA's survivability and overall play. To say that he loves it is a huge understatement. Softcaping makes a huge difference when you throw a quick heal and solid resistance into the mix.

In my opinion, any combination if played a certain way can be quite devastating. There are certain combinations that compliment each other very well which is why you see those more often than the ones that meld together quite horribly.
More often than not, personal opinions of combinations are based off what you see not what you play. Therefore, if you see a bad combo played poorly you think less of it. If you see a bad combo played well then that may change your opinion. It's more about how you play it and how you build it than anything else. Although, even with carefully thought out builds certain things do shine through more than others. DA and FA can be quite an @$$ kicking secondary if you form your build around it's weaknesses and strengths. That being said, FA and DA don't quite fall into line as well due to a simple fact that being a scrapper means having the scrapper mindset when you play (which would be to destroy everything you see) Power selections for DA and FA are just not up to par with some of their competitors. End of story. Not that they aren't fun or good, but purely resistance based sets without +def or +regen really tend to be lacking. Yay we'll give you a neat heal because your REALLY going to need it...
I believe the other topic of smashing/lethal in comparison to the exotics has been covered effectively enough to leave that one alone. -
Generally when I'm scrapping I don't need caffine lol if the going is slow then I'll start challenging the tank and taking on separate mobs. If I'm bored on a scrapper then God save you.

Quote:I've run into this problem quite often over the years. Due to the fact that I play my tanks and scrappers similarly I find it very annoying to scrap on a team with a timid tank and and then have people whine about me being the first one it.I was on a team the other day and the Tank was a bit timid, so I said what the hell....I can handle it. So I jumped in and soul drain and shield charge. Waxed the boss up after and lived. The team leader told me to not do that again, that is the tanks job. C'mon he was waiting and then just herding to a corner. It was like 2 minutes in between mobs. Yeah enough time for my shield charge and soul drain to recharge...but c'mon. I quit the team soon after and apologized to the team leader and said the style of play just wasn't for me.
Because of the fact that roughly 60% of the tanks I have ever teamed with are just too slow to move ahead, or to squishy to take the beating that my scrappers can take I tend to build my scrappers more on the survivability side than +global rech. That being said I don't have a scrap with less than 47.5% rech...
I've found that on those teams with a less than capable tank that because I consistently keep jumping in first and actually survive better than the tank (and floor most mobs before they get there SD/SC) that most teams will adapt to the new situation where their tank is outmatched by a scrapper and let me lead. However if a tanker is competent and durable I try to respect that and let him do what he needs to do even if he is a smidgen slow (usually) as long as it doesn't affect the 5 second rule... which there are exceptions to. As we say in the Marine Corps, "situation dictates". -
Quote:Minus the Fireball I do the same thing, and then beat the hell out of the Boss that survived and then laugh at the blaster that got 2 attacks in. Rinse and repeat.I have a 50 DM/SD/Blaze that uses a build close to one of the ones that Santorican posted in another thread. I am not finished with IOing him out, but even now he is a beast. As far as AoE goes, I have all I need: Jump in a big group -> Soul Drain -> Fireball -> Shield Charge -> Look around at all the carnage.
But then again, I'm always running ahead of the tank on teams since I don't actually need him to "handle the agro" My scrapper can survive *amn near more sh*t than the average tank.
Flooring the mob before the rest of the team gets there: Priceless.
Having the team comment on all the ghost bodies on the ground disappear as they approach: Priceless.
Having 2-6 people on every team you run with ask you to send them your build: Priceless.
Having those 2-6 people look at it and go "I can't afford that": Also Priceless. -
I generally keep my own builds to myself, but for the sake of the scrapper forums here ya go.
Here is what I currently run in-game.

I give up. Starting a willpower tank or stone tomorrow. This guy is on the scrap heap when do Fire tanks........get to be tanks?
[/ QUOTE ]
Get a better build, my fire tank had zero trouble with the end AV in that TF, with only a dark as support. -
Generally if a tank is any good then there is no need for more than one on a team besides filling the team up. As a rule when I'm leading with a tank I don't look for another tank to fill a spot unless there is literally noone on, the only reason for this is that if you have two tanks and they both want to be in the Alpha role (which they WILL unconciously fight for) then hey look the team's confuzled and then something bad can happen. Basically one Alpha is better than two. That being said if you often play with another tank and kinda have a good system down as far as pulling herding and general control of agro then having two tanks can be an amazing thing. But that doesn't happen often.
However in your situation they had room and they should have invited you, it's easy enough to say "hey I'm lead, you play scrapper this time" -
Is this going to be an ongoing account wipe, so that every few months those accounts that pass the 90 day barrier will be cleaned of level 6 and below names therefore making it a steady flow of names for us to choose from?
-
I will be starting an Invuln/Ice tank soon and I WILL have fun and make it work.
-
Anyone have anything good or bad about the darkness? I come from a large line of tanks in CoH, so i thought id try a change.
