Not only on your global name. Does it on character names, too. Otherwise a person's character names would always match their global name, and that's definitely not the case.

My account says my ex's name because he's the one that opened the account. (I didn't have a credit card or anything at the time, so I couldn't.)

I've asked support if I can get it changed to my name. Everything else is in my name now. Negatory.

Not to mention I have seen the age of characters/costumes being used as an argument against generic.

You need to 'charge' it by logging out. You don't get the power immediately upon receiving the badge.

I can't tell if you're being facetious or not...in case you aren't, and are being serious, the age of the character and costume in question does not matter.

Except Posi did not.

Because one of the last couple patches unflagged people...obviously.

The game "forgets" the level 50 hero or level 50 villain flag sometimes during patches. Nobody really knows why. It's been happening for a really long time (I had it happen to me before Inventions, so pre-i9). Like S_Q said, log in your 50 and it'll re-flag.

This is why I -never- suggest that people delete their only level 50 of either faction unless they're close to gaining 50 on another character.
