PET for Brute Good or BAD?

I have a SS/Fire Brute, and I went with the Scirocco PPP, and got the MU Mystic, because he has EMP which is-1000 regen and another AOE in Elec Ball; however, I used to have burn and I feel like I killed faster with it. So, is Burn better for farming and the PET better for AV's? Does the PET's extra AOE > Burn? How often does the PET use it's AOE and EMP, does anyone know that? Thanks in advance, and I appreciate the responses.

The Patron pets are usually little more than a speedbump. They don't last long enough to be worthwhile if you can't keep them safe.

So take Burn? What about PPP, would you take Dark for the -tohit over Elec. Or the elec since it's AOE's aren't cone?

Pets are... rarely useful. I think some of the Corruptor ones have a heal they can use, but with the long recharge on the pets, low life - I use them if I need to distract something before I hit it. If I don't like MY chances on eating the alpha, the pet does it for me.

unless there's a pet set bonus you really need, i would skip it. Too many other useful powers you could take.

Have, sometimes.
Use, rarely. Picked up at 49 because there was nothing else I actually *wanted.* If there were a choice between the pet and a power that dumped paint on an enemy, turning them fluorescent green, I'd probably take the paint.

My spouse loves the pet on her brute.

That being said, sounds like you would rather have burn, so I would switch back.
