The Last Supper has been on my mind for some time... but I wanted to make it with my favorite X-Men team, so I think I'll hold off on that one.
hmmm... now I've got to some up with some truly classic idea.
In color? But what if a character is only in black and white? Like Ghost Widow doing the Scream?

I'm intrigued by what characters you'd use
Cool theme! I've definetly got a couple ideas already in mind.
In particular, I'm thinking of using this classic Transformers comic cover. Although, which to character to use, I'm still quite unsure...

It took me a while to decide. Actually about an hour or so of bouncing through google frantically trying to figure out what would strike me as a fun idea from renaissance paintings to first edition comic covers. Eventually asked someone else what they thought because I just wasn't getting it until they said "Well, I'd probably go with a classic favorite" and he shot me a link to a cover a few minutes later and that's when it hit me.
Do one of your favorites! Genius! Why didn't I just think of it right off the bat?!
I don't know if this'll be a early May submission again, but hopefully it'll be unexpected

Yeah this time around you have the option to use forum signature characters, not a prerequisite but you have the option. Trying to switch back and forth month by month to keep it fresh.
Also if it's a classic Black and White piece that you are recreating then black and white will be accepted, though you can meet the requirement by adding a single color in there. I really hadn't put that together when i was posting this up. Same rule applies though, you have to give us a link to the masterpiece you are recreating.

Ah - I'm glad you clarified that! Although I had decided to try and include "Thor's Assassin" - I was laboring under the impression that I COULD use forum signature characters - not that I HAD to!

Just a minor detail note TA, if forum signature characters HAVE to be used, you might wanna change that in your first post if you still can edit it. Right now it says you CAN use it, so it sounds like it's optional.

May Challenge: 'A recreation of a classic'
Overview: Take any classic piece of art and recreate it using Coh characters and themes. This could be anything from Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper to Michelangelo's Last Judgement or classic comic art like Joe Shuster's Action comic cover or even Todd McFarlane's Spawn classic cover. It's up to you but show us whatcha got.
Rules: These submissions have to be in color barring the exception of a timeless classic that is illustrated without color. The addition of a single color will still be sufficient. You may use any forum signature character as well (not necassary though for the entry). Has to be based on a classic piece of art meaning that when you submit your entry you MUST also give us a link to the classic piece. Only the 12 artists from last month are eligible for entry into the contest though we'd love to see what others would or might submit.
There will be 2 eliminations for this month!! The stakes just got higher!! Show us what ya got!
There will be only one entry allowed per person, and it is due no later than May 25th at midnight PST. Voting will be held the following week. If there is no entry submitted or it is late, you automatically forfeit and lose your spot on the rankings board.
Some notes:
<ul type="square">[*]The winner of May's challenge will carry immunity for next month provided they submit a piece for June.[/list]<ul type="square">[*]Lousy_Day carries immunity this month provided he submits a piece. As he was the winner from April[/list]
