My main will stay VIP, but we will drop my husband's account (which is more like my second account TBH) will go Premium. The accumulated slots from 7 years sub will keep the important characters alive, and no one is really near 50 yet, so Incarnates isn't an issue. Also no MMs or Trollers on the account.
We were just keeping it subbed to allow me to use it as a 2nd account once he went to that 500-lb gorilla game and for ease of working with my SGs (invites & such). -
A Heart Attack on a Bun?
No, wait - that was my doctor... -
I'm not sure that I am understanding which Guides youare a talking about?
But besides that, aren't all the guides Player-written? If one particular subject hasn't been updated, that means none of the players has stepped up to update it. -
Some TFs/SFs are also set up using a sign-up list on the server forum - see for eaxmple the Saturday afternoon and Tuesday evening on Infinity. I haven't looked on other servers.

Quote:As a few others have said - PuGs end to form off Global Channels these days. Check your server to see what ones are useful. For example, Infinity PuGs form from discussion on Infinity Hamidon, Infinity Badges, and AE_Anonymous. On Liberty, the hoppin' channel seems to be LB. Each server has one or more Globals for forming teams and TFs - and usually those groups are very Pick-Up, with people taking the first characters to virtually "raise their hands".For me the best part is the teaming and the missions and the party wipes and the never know what sort of party you will have this time. I love pug's.
They are harder and harder to come by (I only manage to get them on Freedom now and then).
So yes I would be interested. If and this is the the big IF, you happen to do them on EU times and at moments I can participate.
If you limit your PuG'ing to what forms off Broadcast or wait for an invite, you aren't going to be very successful these days. Just a change of locale for forming them, but they are still out there. -
"Holy"?
My Angel is a Fire/Fire Blaster - she has a mighty Fire Sword, just like the Archangels.
Honestly, there are so many possible powers combinations that would potentially be "holy" that we don't need new powersets:
Holy Sword - Broad Sword; Fire or Ice Melee; Fire or Ice Manipulation; Katana; Dual Blades
Hammer (as in Thor) - Mace
Blasts - any Blast set, colored as you see fit; Peacebringers
The main objection to haveing a specific powerset called "Holy" (usually a blasting set) is who defines "Holy" - are we only talking about Judeo-Christian definitions? What about others?
anywho, /unsigned. -
Quote:The OP is concerned that new "Free" players will find a lack of backstory, not the VIP players.Current advertising says it's included with the $15/mo. (VIP) subscription. So unless you were planning to stop paying, you don't have to pay for it separately from the rest of the game.
Are there any cases of "this is something new players should learn early on (or learn easily) but currently don't/might not encounter at all"? I think it would help to point out examples of the problem; if a dev sees this, and if they're able to address it, then they need a place to start.
So, in that context - the new signature arcs are going to be "paid for" content, since they come with the subscription.
That being said, I think the info on the official website is sufficient. I also think that the great job players have done developing the ParagonWiki does fill in most of the holes that need to be filled in at this time. I recognize that it is not published by PS/NCSoft, but it's my observation that players interested in knowing backstory can easily find it and those who don't really care about that aspect of a game don't look for backstory on either the official website or on a player-made Wiki.
Players of the other game have the same choice - dig into the backstory or don't and just jump into playing. I know that when I got roped into starting an account there, I didn't go looking for the "rich & varied" backstory, and I just skim the quest-givers text, because I don't really care. -
Lady Veridian (ill/kin troller) will tag along. Or possibly Nerys (rad/rad fender).
@AdAstra -
I *think* family reunions are over until next summer, although my vacation camping with 12,000 people on a single campground is coming up in August - it's kinda like a family reunion.

Quote:But even if you think that Time Manipulation will be stronger offensively, you won't be able to respec into the powerset on an existing character. Your controller will still have the healer (Empathy??) powerset, even after a respec.
This is a personal comment here. The healer types are wonderful but they get little credit in this game. That's why I want to delete this specific character. The game doesn't reward these types for the work they do. Since I don't get rewarded for my work here, my character gets deleted. Time Manipulation may make the character more valuable so I'll wait before I delete. Only MMs and Controllers get this power.
I think that's some of the confusion. Are you saying that you will only have 1 single Controller at any one time and that you can't start a second one with the new powerset while the old one is still on the account? That's the only way that Time Manipulation will have an effect on your existing character - your personal decision to only have a single controller at a time.
If that's not what you mean (your account will only have one controller at a time) then I'm not sure you understand the respec process. -
Bringing Agoniste (fire/rad troller-demon) with her pink & purple monkeys. She just hit the level for this one & I want to get her to 50.

Quote:As a Vet, I have access the the "Reveal" Vet Reward. I rarely, almost never use it. "Why?", you ask? Also, before I got used to all the maps I used to struggle very badly with finding glowies and destructible objects... I think the map should show everything at all times. The only people it's hurting is new players, as experienced players usually know instinctively where everything is anyways.
Because if it isn't revealed on the map, I haven't been there yet. It's how I keep track of places I need to go bacl and check. Generally, I kinda compulsively clear all the areas of the map so that I can make sure I didn't miss anything.
I guess I don't really see why there was such trouble with glowies and destructible objects, since they make an audible sound as you get near them, as well as flashing and glowing. The other MMO I occasionally play only has the visual cues (glowing, flashing faintly, sparkles above ther target, etc.) and I really miss the audible cues. -
Are you trying to break the forums, Forbin?
Nice costumes, BTW. -
Quote:Which is, or course, what I stated in my original post adding up the FB poll results someone else posted.I wasn't awake at five o-clock in the morning. And I'm assuming no one thinks a Facebook poll is statistically strong, its just a non-randomized opinion poll.
edit: removed the word "exactly" since I didn't use the same phrasing Arcana used, so it wasn't "exactly" what I stated. -
I would think that another flaw in this idea is that there is not a 1:1 correlation between the Blue and Red ATs.
What would you match a Corrupter (Scourge) against? Would it be a Blaster (Defiance) or a Defender (Vigilance)? What matches up against a MM?
Really, none of the Blue ATs has an exact 1:1 match in any of the Red ATs. Stalker matches to Scrapper, but so does Brute - all three are about massive melee damage. A Brute may or may not be built to take & hold aggro; she may be built to be a fast-moving destructive force.
So any mechanic that forces a 1:1 correlation inorder to add "flavor" to side switching won't work, sorry.
p.s. - I also have to agree with Aggie - please don't continue to post in the teeny-tiny font. -
Quote:So based on the poll, half the player-base responding haven't tried it yet? I admit that's how I voted. From Facebook: What are your first-week impressions of Incarnates Ascend?
162 like it
49 like some of it
250 haven't checked it out
18 don't like it.
That kinda seems like a significant portion of the new content doesn't matter to half the playerbase - which would alarm me if I were a Dev. I know FB polls aren't in the least bit a good statistical sampling, but still... -
I think you may be confusing the names of the various servers.
Generally, when you download this game for a Trial, you don't download the Training Room - which is a Test Server used for Beta Testing.
You probably have a Trial account on one of the regular servers, that you now need to UPGRADE to a regular paying subscription. Your character should still be there if you UPGRADE the trial account (do not "add an account").
If somehow you did manage to get a character on the Test Server/Training Room, you are out of luck. Due to some of the features of Beta Testing (such as allowing autolevelling and copying over existing characters and their influence/enhancements multiple times) - there is no way to bring a character from Test to Live. -
Quote:Truth!Look at it this way: You're betting Dark Manipulation will not include Dark Regeneration. If you lose, that means you can make a blaster with Dark Regeneration.
Is that still really losing?
So happy to see this one. I've tried to make my Corrs & Fenders fill the gap, but it really isn't the same as a Dark/Dark Blaster! -
Just trying for extra sympathy - guess that didn't work.
-
I want in - add Lady Veridian (lvl 33 Ill/Kin Troller) @Ad Astra
I will show up this time - sorry again for falling asleep before the TF last week. -
Wow, I totally forgot about this last night - I apologize.

OP -
A description of what you found to be particularly "impressive" would be way more help to start a discussion than linking to a completely separate game.
I don't play that other game and have no interest in doing so.
Also, IBTD +1 -
Not attacking or anything - but I guess I don't see what's the big deal in calling people by their character names. I don't RP much, but I do RP at least to the extent of calling the character by its name and using the appropriate gender (i.e., using "she" for a female character, even if I know the player is male). I'm trying to understand why it's that important to keep track of globals instead of character names.
