Displaying globals, instead of character names, would be great

Obviously it would be optional. I'm in a couple of global channels and there's quite a number of people I play with often. But I hardly ever know who's actually on the team with me because most people's character names don't give away their global, and it's too annoying to check their globals and memorize who's who. It would be a lot easier to communicate, at least.

So, I would love an option for the game to display every one's global names instead of their character names.

I dunno that I want this to be any easier than it already is... Plus, I specifically chose a global name that has nothing to do with any of my characters at all. This is because each of my characters is just that: a character. They are not me. And while I don't RP all that much, I would be a little annoyed that folks are seeing my characters as just ME. I try pretty hard to get good, appropriate character names.

But, I suppose, since MY view of people wouldn't change, I suppose this is okay... but I guess I am still a bit against this idea.

Or instead, you can have people in your globals use the $NAME feature in the global channel, so if you see them on your team, you'll know

There are plenty of tools we can use to get global names. Why not use the notes feature to Star people you like. You'll see the star and know it's a buddy. If ya really need his global after that the notes feature also tells you what it is.

I already do this, but when the seven other people on my team are all friends from global channels it's hard to keep track of who is who. I don't want to keep referring to them by their character name or having to check globals all the time.

Not attacking or anything - but I guess I don't see what's the big deal in calling people by their character names. I don't RP much, but I do RP at least to the extent of calling the character by its name and using the appropriate gender (i.e., using "she" for a female character, even if I know the player is male). I'm trying to understand why it's that important to keep track of globals instead of character names.

Forbin and 37 already cover the reasons why I wouldn't want this.

I'm with Ad on this.
