Well, elec is meant to be pretty decent, although, as said before, it's mainly good for the hold, and you already have quite a few. I think Force Mastery is fantabuloso.... Force Bubble is good for PvP, FoN is amazing resistance, and Temp Invul isn't half bad either. However, for an NRG secondary, Repulsion field is pretty st00pid.

Right-e-oh then. I have just downloaded Hero Builder, and tried it out on this Blaster I recently started. Here's what I'm planning.
I'd like you to take into account that some powers are 4 slotted with the same thing (didn't realise I was doing it, then couldn't be bothered to change it), and that hasten is 2 slotted until around lvl 30 lol. This would be different in practice.

Well, Union is the unofficial RP server, so although I do love my PvP, I am still an RPer... Not too many of PvPers around on Union atm though...
-
Well, there's no chance of you attempting a blap anytime soon.
-
Well, I'd suggest maybe getting Blind and Flash for the earlier levels, but try to get rid of them later on. Illusion isn't a proper Controller sense. It's more like a MasterMind -> It uses distractions. I think... get al of the Illusion powers, maybe leaving Superior Invis, Blind, and Flash. My Kinetics Corruptor didn't take Increase Density. Speed Boost top ups are annoying enough, but ID just doesn't last enough for me to be bothered. I HATED Inertial reduction. Do - not - get - it. Of course, Siphon Speed and SB are ever useful. I think the only two people that can have perma hasten are SR Stalkers/Scrappers and Kinetics users. I think ID and IR are the only ones I missed... Oh yeah, repel is terrible in PvE, but it can be a God in PvP.
-
Well, Ninjitsu is a very Diverse set, but I've never really liked it that much. SR has a good bunch of defences, and the Hasten power is very handy. Energy, however, is a lot better imo. You should never be out of endurance in the higher levels, some NRG secondarys say they don't even need Stamina. The Energy effects, though, are in my opinion hideous, and probably laggy for those using them. I'd still go for it though.
-
Well, I've always prefered Regen over everything. IMO, Regen is by far the best set for Scrappers, and probably the best in Stalkers too, my Stalker can hold quite a bit of aggro before having to drop in a heal, and by the time I'm half health again, it's back up. The thing is, for Stalkers, there's nothing that's particularly bad or exceptionally good. And it is probably true about more regen Nerfs... Which proves that fact that they're best
-
Transfusion: Do NOT slot it for End Drain. I did 3 accs and 3 heals.
Irradiate: I doubt that it's very good, but I'm no good on this stuff
Repel: I have it, but only for an anti-stalker device in PvP. It is not unresistable, but it interrupts AStrikes.
PBAoE -> Player based area of effect. Irradiate is also PBAoE. -
I have no idea what to do. Is the heal any good on it?
-
Cool. On my Ninja/Regen Stalker, I took all of the defences first, the only attacks I have are Sting of the Wasp, ASTrike, and Placate. If I make a Claws/Regen Stalker, I can see myself getting Stamina at 24 (Got it at 22 on the Ninja), and missing Fast Recovery and Dull Pain for a while.... Would this be a problem?
-
So which do you guys reckon are the best power sets to take for a Solo PvE Character and a different PvP Character? My Ninja/Regen seems to do ok in both, but I'd like to try claws for the ranged...

Heh, thanks.

Well, I personally hate Ninjitsu for a number of reasons. When CoV was first released, Ninjitsu had a type of 'coolness' factor to it, as it was different to anything else, and above all, was called Ninjitsu . However, after PvPing against some SG Stalkers (Our Hero SG has an alternate Villain one, like most) who were both regen, I was persuaded that regen was simply fantastic, even without the End regen buff. You don't need defence when you're regen. The other reason I hate Ninjitsu, is because, although it may suck in other situations, it is one of the only things I have come across (defo in Stalkers) that can actually kill my Storm/Dark Defender. That is of course if I'm not allowed to run. Hurricane + Steamy mist normally stops anything from getting near me, and anything that does get near me (eg Granite Stone users) will NEVER hit me. Unfortunately for me, if the Stalker manages to stay back enough and remain hidden, they can whack me with the Sleep/Blind Powder thing (not sure of the terminology) which turns off all my toggles. But the effect is pretty useless, and I'm normally able to TP a good 200yds away before they manage to attack me.

Kheldians get Flight/Teleport inherently, Flight with Nova form, and Teleport with Dwarf form... so I'm not bothered with it either.
[/ QUOTE ]
They're moaning about the fact that you get a Hover and a Flight power, but no Air Superiority/ TP Friend and TP Self but no TP Foe. -
That Cobra Strike wouldn't last half a minute if you weren't clearly PLing, or atleast fighting +5 mobs. Case Closed. No questions asked.
-
If you mean you want to make a Defender with the dual qualities of a Controller, go with a Storm/Dark (what I went for). Storm is in itself very much like a controller set, and Dark has amazing debuffs, immobs etc.
If you meant you wanted to make a Defender AND a Controller, I'd go for a Stone/Storm if you wanted pure uberness, an Ill/-Rad/Storm- for Fun, and an Ice/Storm for visual and RP compatibility.
Further Questions? Oh yes, I like Storm -
Ugh don't slot it for damage!!!! I think it does unslotted about... if you keep it on the same enemy with some magical power... 10, give or take half a point
-
Put it to the Eminem vid...would like to see that
-
Taunting's pretty dangerous until DOs, even then it's risky... you're really not a proper Tank till SOs. DOs aren't even nearly enough unless you have all shields possible...
-
Well, you've already gone for Empath, and Storm is great fun, and pretty Uber. It's already a pretty controller style set, so works great for PvP- one of the most annoying in fact.

Don't listen to her :P
With Rain properly used, you don't need the Clap, which will probably miss all of the buggers, including the underlings. However, anything that does hit will be stunned for a massive half second!
Don't get it. Storm is a very fast lvler in my opinion, and I could've done it a lot faster if I had a plan, and didn't take stupid moves and gone kamikaze style. People that I team with regularly (eg SG members) know me for dying more than anything else. On fun characters, like my current villain, I have no problem with debt. It's fun. But if you wanna launch to 50, forget Thunder Clap.
