Quote:My guess is that you still took too long to get it done. You're participating... but not enough to the satisfaction of some unknown metric.Gotcha AG. But, according to Zombie Man, in City of Heroes Forums > removed forum sections > Issue 19 Alpha Strike Open Beta: Announcements, Chatter, & Discussion
GUIDE: Issue 19 Open Beta
Rewards for participation in the zone events will be based on the amount of participation, and not just damage done -- (de)buffing and heals are tracked. By some unknown metric, you will be given either the Top Tier or the Lower Tier Reward Table upon completion.
Removing all the arguements about my build, my question is, why isn't the badge in the Lower Tier Reward Table, instead of the Top Tier?
I'm also on record to the Devs over and over again that their 'fixes' to that metric are still broken. So, it most definitely is buggy.
All I can say is wait to you outlevel it so that you have access to 5+level powers and have lots of attack temp powers and temp pet powers with you. That should do it. -
So many Universes gaining sentience and an avatar and then going about destroying and creating whole races and worlds and other universes. They should form a book club or something.

That would be interesting to know, too, since my Dark Defender got the Epic Healing Badges -- without farming -- way before many contemporaneous Empath toons.

An Ill/Rad with perma-PA is the prototypical power Illusionist since the perma-PA will keep the enemies off you and eventually kill any foe, even GMs because of Rad's debuffs.
Eventually.
The benefit of MMs is that you can get a much higher damage potential out of them even more than what an Ill/Rad can do... but you have to work harder at it with more management (but not with a multitude of binds and macros... attack aggressive, passive, and body guard modes are all you really need). And with MMs, the fine controls do come in handy at times.... it's aggravating when your PA is attacking underling monkeys and avoiding the Elite Boss attack you; MMs don't have that problem ("attack my target! attack my target! ah! ah! ah!). -
I can summon dummies all the time, the command is:
/b LFG! -
Quote:I can avoid attacks on any toon by taking non-attack pool powers. That has the effect of making me a terrible solo-er and not generating enough DPS to qualify for participation badges. So, whose fault is that? The Devs? Now, the devs see fit to say that I need at least ONE offensive power. They give it to me when I start. But they give me the OPTION to not choose any more, and that, is not a bad thing. I'll say it again: my offense comes from my teammates. But then, when they choose to NOT award me the same awards that my teammate gets from benefiting from my choices, THAT, my friend, is where the empath gets shortchanged.
Your argument that "it's possible, therefore it should be equally good and equally rewarded" is just plain absurd.
It's possible to never slot enhancements. It's possible not to take your pet powers as a MM. It's possible to not use inspirations. It's possible to put Brawl on auto and use just that for attacks.
It's possible to do a lot of self-detrimental acts. You just won't get rewarded for doing so.
Period. The End.
Now, if you really do want to listen to advice and not just be argumentative that your self-gimping ways must be able to be competitive with non-self-gimping builds, use your Second Build to create an soloing and more offensive version of your toon... one that takes an attack chain. Use your soloing build for soloing and your uber healer build for teaming.
OR... avail yourself of all the various attacking and pet temp powers available: They count as you attacking. -
The standard litmus test for when a problem requires professional (or group support) help is answering 'yes' to the following question, "Is the behavior interfering with my happiness or ability to function appropriately in my relationships?" and then 'no' to: "Can I change the behavior on my own?"
If that's the case, get help.
One way to get the help you need is by installing parental control programs on your computer and setting up time limits to programs... and then having a family member or friend set the password so that you can't change it. -
