Hai Blasters. Water Farming Question.

Last time I saw a blaster farming (I mean live, i'm sure they still do) DP and Archery paired with /Psy could do some pretty decent farming with their AoE + Drain Psyche. Is Water Blast going to be capable of this? I haven't tested WB yet, but it seemed like with it's AoE's, self heal, and varies controls, it would be able to. Just wondering! Thanks.

I think just about anything paired with /mental is able to. The more aoe's the better of course.

Ah haha didn't know that. Thanks for the reply.

Since ambush farming is apparently no longer in vogue water should look more competitive than it otherwise may have. Why? If you're approaching spawns you have a much better chance to take advantage of water's very good cone. AR and DP can farm more on the strength of their spherical taoes and their pbaoes, which eliminate some of the margin for error. My guess is that water needs its cone as geyser is an every-couple-spawns tool rather than every spawn. Just a guess, though, maybe whirlpool has a bigger impact than I'm imagining.

Ah of course. Forgot that blaster farmers specialty was the small room ambush farms. Totally forgot (returning from a long break) so that would make sense that it would be a little tougher. I might try a water/mental farmer and if it's no good i'll just turn him into a normal grouper. :P

Water has four different area attacks, and all of them are strong, so I wouldn't be surprised if they could pull this off.

Blasters and ambush farms died awhile ago. Wait for bio armor brutes.

Water Farming.... Did anyone else go to Tatooine there?

I have a /El, and /Dark water, and both are very tough, and at level 10 began running my self powerlevel farm at full gate where as my melee toons which are usually the strongest at this had to wait til at least 26 to go full throttle. /psi should do better than these secondaries, and I have once again found love for blasters. Used to have an Arch/Dev long ago, but alas she died to low fun factor as the game progressed.

The main problem I've run into when using a blaster to farm is how much everything runs away. Even using a secondary with a damage aura, apparently it's not the same thing as a real aggro aura. It's a shame since blasters can kill stuff so fast, but nothing stays bunched up to effectively do it.

While yes, it can be done, I find it to be more trouble than it's worth.

This is the very reason most competent /mm farmers grab Mu Mastery for the +Res and the AoE Immob. This plus the new Hybrid Taunt Aura have helped my arch/mm a lot.

There are options for this. I farm on my Blaster regularly. The first suggestion I have for you is to go Mu Mastery- E-Fences can be stacked up pretty expertly. The bosses and some of the LT's will resist it or not be hit, but it's generally enough to keep things still long enough to kill them after a nuke drop. The second suggestion I have for you is to use patrol cave farms. Stick with the biggest clusters of enemies only, and when they start to scatter, move to the next clump. Reset the mission when your reward rates noticeably begin to decrease. The third suggestion is right branch Melee Hybrid, which gives you a taunt aura 50% of the time.

I never used those powers and never had a problem, simply because they always come back. They will just die in the next group they get mixed in that I am killing off. If I have 1 or 2 runners at the end either I just finish them off or just complete and not waste my time on 1 or 2 mobs.

the running only seems to happen when rains, or in this case wirrelpool is used too soon. Especially with darks ability to sap damage off of 10+ of them and finish a spawn in less than 7 seconds this is usually a non-issue.
