    Plant/NA Troller

Thanks for the great feedback! Like I said i'm pretty new to plants as well as new to trollers (never gotten one past 30), but after playing it a few days, I do realize I'm massively lacking ST dmg, so i'm going to put this advice to use. Thanks!

I farm someone, they pay me influence. Then when NA came out, I paid someone with that influence to farm me up to 50.

Your did not take entangle this is one of your single target attacks slot it for damage

you woefully under slotted strangler I would 4 slot gaze in it Or might be a good place for that fancy ATO set.

I personally would slot roots for damage as well...It makes for a good AoE control/Damage power or optionally slot the ATO proc here and 5 slot the rest in vines

Spore cloud is ..ok.. but skip-able and slotted the way you have it .worthless

Entangling aura is.. questionable because well you have five forms of control already!

Most likely there is more. So many plant build out there I am sure you can find your own way.. Was'nt hard for me.. of course like I said I am only level 14 I guess I should not have been reading so much...
Thanks for the advice! I do like spore cloud a lot, so i'll have to figure out how to slot it so I can keep it and get better use of it. The other advice looks good too, I'm still not sure how I feel about Entangling Aura still after testing it a bit, I like the look of course, and I do tend to fight closer than some trollers. I don't have any end problems right now (recharge is only 90% atm so that could change) so it's not a big bother, but I may need to drop it for entangle!

As for me, I've PL my share up to 50th. Rarely pay, because I have friends who do it for free as I do theirs. But it did bite me in the *** with my new dark/dark troller when I started playing her in the Summer Event and was pretty clueless to what her powers could do (well, clueless on the new stuff).

Yet this thread get me interested in playing a plant/nature troller.... wondering how good it would do with the hami tank team.
I love the word Braggart too! Yogi-Bare has given me 1 out of only a few posts in this thread that was helpful. He misread my comments and began the trolling himself imo.

As far as the hami tank team, I feel like NA is fantastic for large leagues, though it does lack a BIG heal in those situations when the tank is at 10%, but with the regen you can stack, he shouldn't get that low anyways. In iTrials like TPN where the league gets grouped up real tight, it really shines. I am really enjoying the combo even before I get the majority of my build finished as well as incarnates. I recommend it.

You brought it on yourself when you decided to get petty. I have a PLed toon somewhere as well; I have nothing to be jealous of.

IIRC, that is a choking cloud clone and without accuracy you are almost wasting all those procs and your end usage is terribad. I would 3-4 slot Lockdown with the proc and whatever Accuracy/End you can squeeze out, then take some of those extra slots and put it in vines or use 2 damage procs if you were really in love with them there.

Also, sometimes it is best to be a little less confrontational when requesting help. I'm not saying either side was completely right, but you were the one who was requesting advice. Being brutish does not incline many to want to help you.
Thanks for the advice! Will rework my build some after looking at some plant builds. And being brutish is in my NATURE. See what I did there? :P

Healing and Regen are your two biggest assets (especially in team play) build to optimize those powers healing and recharge.

Go Pure Hero and get your Hero Alignment Power; pair it up or stagger it out with Overgrowth.

You have enough mitigation and recuperative power to build for more damage (Reactive Interface, Musculature Alpha, Assault Hybrid (although Seeds will allow you to take better advantage of Cognitive Interface; throw in a Contagion proc and you'll be a very happy camper)

Clarion Radial will boost all of your Healing and give you mez protection that you'll be needing.

Note: Support Hybrid will also get you (and your team) boosts to mitigation, healing and damage.
That's what i've been waiting for! Thanks, those seem like good suggestions.
  8. Hi! Just taking a quick look at your build right now. I'd say your Overgrowth is a little underslotted. It's an amazing t9! You can perma that power as well, so that's just another +10% to hit and +66% dmg as well as some nice Endurance Reduction. You could take some slots out of Maneuvers. Is there a reason you went with Earth Mastery or is it just for the earth/nature character idea? Just wondering, Primal Forces has Power Boost which is pretty nice on controllers! Entangling Aura it's pretty nice, as you can frankenslot it with a lot of +chances to do dmg or holds or slows, but it's obviously not necessary, it depends on how close to mobs you plan on being. Other than that I can't see much wrong with it. I'm no expert in builds, but after playing NA for a day or so, you seem to have about the same idea for it that I do. Good luck!

Also your first post said you reached 50 4-5 hours ago, and it takes about 30 minutes tops to come up with a half decent build in Mids once you have a basic grasp of the powers. You asked if the t9 power was permable and said "It seems like it would REALLY be good" further implying that you haven't really played the toon. No doubt that may have rubbed some posters the wrong way.

Luckily CoX isn't rocket surgery and learning toons is fairly quick and easy. I'm sure by today you'll be up to speed.

And yes Overgrowth is permable and you'll want to plan for Endurance management as well on a PC/NA troller.
Thanks for the info. The reason I didn't know if T9 was perma-able was because I wanted a build before spending the money to get enough +rech to find out. And yes NA takes about 10-15 mins to figure out, and I love it!

Haven't played your build so I can't give you definitive advice on it. As it stands; I'm playing the same numbers game as you... but without actually getting an actual feel on how those numbers play out, I would essentially be blowing smoke up your rear.

Why yes, yes you have... you even got it up to level 53!

Irrelevant to the topic at hand.

I can't be jealous of my own writing.

Well, hurry up and [get] done with yours so everyone else can have room to do that.
On the contrary, you obviously love your own writing or lack there of. Again, I never said I was 53 as well. Maybe you should stop trolling and learn to read. I hit 50 about the same time as the person saying they were a 50+3, and as I stand right now. I'm 50+1. Since you love to quote everything I write in bits and pieces so you can get your "hits" in on all of them, to make yourself feel better, do it with this one too if you like. Have fun with playing your controller. After playing this game for quite a long time, the mechanics in this set didn't take me long to grasp, so I'm not sure why you think you know me and how long it will take to learn this power set-up. Tell me more about your Irrelevance to the topic at hand! Go back to playing your own Plants/NA troller and be silly there as well! You make me giggle with your trolling.

Honestly, I want to be able to have a NA/Plant build that can hold it own against the core game (different mez types, different damage types, different debuff types) so it has a solid core by the time it gets into Incarnate content; in less than 24 hours.

Since you have the most experienced Plant/NA; I should be asking you for at least a rudimentary build based on that experience of yours as an answer to this.

Otherwise, I can figure it out for myself in Mids.

[Oh, wait... forget /NA, you don't even know how to play a Plant/ Troller?!?]
I missed the part where I said I was the most experienced Plant/NA troller in the game, in this forum where i'm asking for advice on playing Plant/NA troller. Not sure if you saw the build I posted, thats the one i'm asking for advice on. I haven't played a plants troller because I haven't played a plants troller. Can't feel bad that I haven't played EVERY powerset in the game. You might want to know other sets I haven't played that you must have played. Time, Cold Domination, Street Justice, Radiation Aura, shall I keep going? Your @$$ must be jealous of all the $#!7 that that you write on the internet. Go stroke ur epeen somewhere else plz.

    Plant/NA Troller

Ok so here is what i've come up with rather quickly, and keep in mind I haven't played a Plants/ troller before either, so if I picked up/didn't pick up a power please let me know! As far as NA goes, I really think ALL the powers are useful. I have been using them all in iTrials, and don't see myself not getting 1. Some of these are frankinslotted. You can read up on the NA powers if you aren't sure what they do. Thanks for any HELPFUL and SERIOUS feedback!

People like you are "gud hooman beens". In your logic, no one should ever ask anyone anything really. Good luck with that in life.

Like I said, I've seen a few people on TEST with full builds, just hoping maybe one of them will be able to post something. If all I get is trolls and hateful gutterrats of humankind, so be it. Working on my own build now. Will post it later for those who are also looking.

You talking about Plantasy? Took a little over 2 hours for her to get 50 as well. So maybe you weren't the first on Freedom.

Anyways to everyone else. Thanks for turning this thread into a lot of trolling and comments that read like borderline jealousy, but the fact is, I've got over 10 lvl 50's and at least half of those never stepped foot in an AE. After several runs to 50, it's easy to hop on my farmer, farm up some money so that my new plant/na troller can get 50 asap so I can skip the mid game and go right to the parts I enjoy. I've been playing this build on Test a bit as well, and was hoping someone else who played this on test more extensively, already had a build ready for their future plant/na troller. This isn't a crazy thing to ask, maybe there aren't any build up yet, like I said i'll make one today if not. Don't be petty people, please turn the forum back into a request for a plant/na build. Thanks!

    Plant/NA Troller

So I got 50 on my Plants/NA troller about 4-5 hrs ago, and I am wondering if anyone has had time to put a build together for it? I'd like to boost my healing as well as my holding if possible. Also, does anyone know if the T9 NA power is perma-able? It seems like it would REALLY be good, if so. If it is, then maybe +recharge is the way to go. Anyways, I'd appreciate it if anyone can link anything they've found. Otherwise, I guess i'll just do some MIDS'ing tomorrow during downtime. Thanks!
  17. Ok I'm necro'ing this post of mine to post my final build for a SG mate. At the same time I'd love some feedback on it. I'd like to thank the 1 replier to my post Sexy Goober, I used his build, tweaked it JUST slightly to fit me a little better. Also, this build is a NO PURPLE build (excluding Superior ATO), so ofc I can add purples to it and make it better, but I'm not going to YET. Thanks!

  18. Great ty for the replies! I actually just made a beasts/pain and I like it so far. I totally agree on the suppress pain power, I think the MM version seems better. Gunna enjoy this one I think.
  19. I am intrigued by the /pain set, and am wondering if it's better on Corrs or MM. Also, are the buffs good enough (I rarely see them) that it would make me an asset to a team? Or are Emp/ff/kin/therm all better buffs? Lastly, which powersets go well with /pain? I was think of trying beam or beasts (one I havent tried/purchased yet) but maybe those don't provide much synergy. Thanks for any help/advice given!

    @DrkFlz
  20. Here is a tank I made a long time ago named Broken Defense Droid: (He's got a steam pipe backpack on but it's blocked by his head in this pic)

And this is a newer design named Uncompleted: (He's a claws/ and his claws are mismatched :P)

I really enjoy the look of robots who haven't been completed yet or have fallen apart. I've got a ton of variations of the broken droid theme, but these are the two i've gotten the most comments on. Good Luck all!
  21. So i've been working on my Architect XXV badge today (bored) and i'm on 24/25. I have a self made mission with a destructible object in it, and when running on Test mode it awarded me Virtually Destructive. So I thought well i'm gunna run it in published mode and get Destructive to get my XXV. It doesn't award it... Not sure why. I've tried another shorter farm with a destructible object. Doesn't award it either... Did they remove this badge? The other two badges left are the Villianous one (i'm a hero so I can't get this yet?) and the Party with Friends one where u gotta test a mish with a full group or 8 (that will be hard unless i'm free farming and "pretend to mess up :P). Would love some feed back on why Destructive isn't being awarded. Thanks!
  22. Ah of course. Forgot that blaster farmers specialty was the small room ambush farms. Totally forgot (returning from a long break) so that would make sense that it would be a little tougher. I might try a water/mental farmer and if it's no good i'll just turn him into a normal grouper. :P
  23. Ah haha didn't know that. Thanks for the reply.

Do you farm sir? I have yet to find a farmer who doesn't find it boring. That doesn't mean I don't do it or I hate it. I just watch some TV or listen to a podcast while I do it. What i'm trying to make with my farms is something with a little more entertainment that will make you want to be more than 50% present in the farm as you do it. I have 3 (soon 4-5) toons who can farm atm. So I can assume it's what I enjoy doing, since I keep making these types of toons. If I had to pick, i'd say I do enjoy my ice/elec tank farming more than my fire brutes. Elec is much less boring to play than SS. So yes I do enjoy ice farming a lot. My ss/fa brute is a little on boring side of things, with burn/fs/burn/fs... So maybe instead of flaming me for something I wrote, we can keep the topic as funny or entertaining farms to make them more enjoyable! (<-- Exclaimation marks!!!!!) Thanks.
  25. Last time I saw a blaster farming (I mean live, i'm sure they still do) DP and Archery paired with /Psy could do some pretty decent farming with their AoE + Drain Psyche. Is Water Blast going to be capable of this? I haven't tested WB yet, but it seemed like with it's AoE's, self heal, and varies controls, it would be able to. Just wondering! Thanks.
