What would have been nice, but probably overpowered and not currently possible, would be to replace the Recharge enhancements with a generic "seconday effects" enhancement, so the various debuffs/buffs/heals the pets have would be buffed.

Sokyoku and Sirena Woodson, they were both SFS regulars back in the days when Gothess was running the event and they both seemed to drop off the face of the earth.
Also Lou'kaish, my girlfriend who's sitting 3 feet away playing WoW, the jerk. -
On my Huntsman I put the proc in burst, which has almost 100% chance to fire because of it's base recharge. However I'm starting to notice that once I get it stacked up on an AV they start to run away way more than usual, which I'm guessing is a side-effect of the fear. I'm going to hold off respeccing out of it for now, but it's starting to get quite annoying. Has anyone else noticed this?

Time is one of the best all around support sets IMO. It's got good debuffs, good buffs, and a good heal. It's biggest weakness is endurance, but chrono shift helps with that, and MMs generally don't have end problems anyway, so it works out well for them.
With perma-farsight and the debuff from time's juncture I play my /time corr like a brute, rushing into melee range and just ripping everything apart. I can only imagine how much better that works on an MM with the bodyguard mechanic, giving you some pseudo resistance to layer with your defense. -
I haven't bought beast mastery yet because I'm saving my points for staff melee. Someday when I get beast mastery I'm likely to make a beast/storm and name it "Raining Cats and Dogs"... also I'll be taking group fly so I can drop my pets on people. >.>

Another fun fact: The script was originally unrelated to Starship Troopers, and the movie was titled Bug Hunt at Outpost Nine. It was well into pre-production when they decided to make it a Starship Troopers movie for some extra name recognition.

I have that same combo on a corr (Sonic/Dark) that I've been working on. So far it's been really fun, but once I hit 50, with IO sets, buffs, and debuffs it's looking like it'll be my most durable character. Which is impressive since Brutes are my favorite AT and I typically build them for tanking.
-
If you prefer playing redside Protector has a very active villain population. However the only teams you tend to see forming on the global channels are for Strike Forces.

Awww, was really hoping for Staff Melee.

I got my dark/dark dom from 24 to 35, my main goal being 32 so I could have my shadow puppy. After that I worked on random characters I haven't played in a while and made sure all my lowbies were at least up to 22 for single origins. I forget how many Renault SFs I ran, but I managed to go the whole weekend without stepping one virtual foot on blueside.

Quote:Ahhh, that is very good to know. The target there doesn't actually mean anything for enhancements. They inherit the target settings of what they're slotted into. Otherwise ones like this might be troublesome. The only thing that affects procs is what you see on the right-hand side: if the effect itself is on Target or on Self.
As for the chance for build up, it's implemented in such a way that it only gets one chance to fire, regardless of how many targets it hits (so long as it hits at least one, which Tactics always will). -
Quote:Link The Target is also set to be the caster, so it does check per target, but it always has only 1 target, and that's you. Most procs check once per target when slotted in AoEs, regardless of whether the proc affects the target or the caster - that's why people put the Force Feedback proc in AoEs; you get more uptime, even though it doesn't stack.
This makes me wonder: Does GSFC slotted in an AoE like Tactics check per target? If so, it would be a huge benefit to pet classes, and to people who teamed frequently. And if it does check per target, does it stack? -
The Gaussian proc is tagged to only affect the caster, so even in fortitude it would still affect the empath only.

I completely forgot it was double xp weekend, otherwise I would've used a vacation day. Oh well, maybe I'll stay up all night on sunday and call in sick on monday.

Quote:Less than 1 hour a day, for less than 4 weeks, will get you 2 level shifts, 3 if you get a couple of lucky rolls. But that's just if you're doing ALL your incarnate stuff through DA. No one ever said if you start off in DA that you're not allowed to join iTrials anymore. You can do both.Sure, if you don't mind grinding the same toon for the entirety of your play time for weeks/months.
Something that's completely counter to what the devs are telling us is the intended style of play for anyone looking to make any sort of significant advancement in Incarnates power.
Grind trials.
However that is entirely beside the point, the question was "What if I want to work on judgement/interface but I don't have quite enough shards saved up to get my alpha level shift?" And the answer was DA. -
Electric is my all time favorite, but as someone mentioned earlier it's not very solid on single target damage. Fire is great for both ST and AoE if you don't need any mitigation in your attacks.
I've also made a rageless SS brute. I paired it with electric armor and went for perma-hasten, managed to get the recharge on foot stomp almost down to 5 seconds. I used to have rage on this character, but with that much recharge the crash was just happening too much and killing my endurance, which is hard to do on an /elec brute. I stopped using rage for a while just to see how it would play and honestly I didn't even notice the difference once my fury built up. -
We had a good turnout for the second Treespec and Ice Mistral this week, each with 7-person teams. And as a bonus I ran a Tarikoss afterwards to get my xp on my lowbie dark/dark dominator.

Beast/Storms.
Name: Raining Cats and Dogs -
When we first beta tested BAF, Lambda, and Keyes we had no level shifts available and they were a complete pain. Once we learned the tricks we succeeded more and more often, but it involved a lot of zerging from the hospital for the tanks. The point is, it's doable, but I sure wouldn't want to go back to it personally.

Here's the scaling iTrial AVs use.
Anyway, I agree that turning away flat 50s from BAF/Lam isn't necessary. Now that everyone pretty much knows how to do those they're super easy, as long as EVERYONE isn't a flat 50. I wish the devs had put in minimum requirements for the rest from the beginning, then most people wouldn't have an issue with it. I see it the same way I see that I can't join a LRSF until I'm 45. If they removed that requirement it still wouldn't be as bad because on a team of 8 the leader can look over everyone's powersets and balance accordingly. You can't expect the leader of a league of 24 to do that. -
Quote:You may be interested in checking out This Thread, in just under a month, less than 1 hour in dark astoria per day, you should be able to get up to +2 level shifts. If you took 5 weeks, like your example from the other game, you should be able to get the full +3.As an example of why it is flawed, I play that "other" major MMO on occasion. It took me all of five weeks of solo daily quests (20-30 minutes a day) to deck my two max level characters out with Epic items for all but about 5 slots with two characters. Which seems pretty reasonable time commitment to have the entry level armor for heroic mode content. Which is gated by item level. This meant that if I had time, I could go do that content and be a reasonable contributor.
Now apply this same strategy to the current state of Incarnate content and we are looking at literally years to get the minimum entry level gear for the slots. It's asinine. If they only want teams and leagues to be able to be Incarnate, just say so. Don't tease the player with a possibility of getting somewhere then say "let's shut them up by giving them a method to get somewhere at a snails pace" and then that method is not even realistically feasible to be able to join up to date content in a somewhat reasonable time frame. -
Quote:I'm at work right now, but when I get home I'll send you the Mids data chunk for it. I should note that this build has NO attacks at all, generally because I let my demons do all my damage for me, and if I'm in a situation where I don't have my demons out then I'm on a team and I let my teammates do the damage while I focus on debuffs.I would like to see your softcapped IO demon/poison. I have a working build with Necro poison and I am close but requires a purple inspiration to cap out. Honestly I have tried to rework the build for weeks with no luck.
Edit: oops, I was mistaken about my build, it's only softcapped to smashing/lethal and is close to the rest. -
Quote:Just a note to add on this: I remember looking around the powers info at City of Data and seeing that various stats of the iTrial AVs also scale to league size. I'll find it again when I get home tonight. The first measureable impact of a non-level shifted toon is increasing the spawn size (in addition to the increased number of Lt and Boss level enemies) while either not providing any of the benefits or substantially lesser benefits that a level shifted toon can bring. It is entirely possible for a non-level shifted toon to be a distinct liability (MoM, DD, are prime examples) where number of league deaths plays a definitive role in determining the success of the iTrial.

In my experience the most important thing for a mastermind is knowing how to control the pets. Once you get that down you *almost* can't go wrong with a mastermind. Bots/Forcefield or Bots/Time are both very survivable combos.
My favorite MM for incarnate trials is my Demon/Poison, but that's just because I managed to get him softcapped to everything with IOs, that way I could kill off my pets and just focus on debuffing and still be survivable. The fact that he can be mobile when he needs to makes him more flexible than any of my other MMs. -
I just started back on night shift, nice to see I'm not missing anything.
