They do? My MA/Regen has no real problems (except when I just came back 6 months ago and my timing was completely off). The only defense she has is MoG and a 2.5% to all positional bonus from the full set of Gaussian's in FA (which was put in for the regen bonus, the need for end reduction, and the proc). And she's not even built for recharge, but for massive amounts of passive regen. Ended up tanking Rommie as the only non-squishy on the team. Died a few times, but no more than usual, and usually only when I jumped headfirst into a mob expecting something to recharge faster than it did.

Funnily enough, it still uses Coca leaves, just "denatured" ones, where the cocaine has been removed from them (before cocaine was illegal, they were spent leaves, from after the cocaine had been processed), for the flavor (hence the coca in the name, while the cola comes from cola nuts).

You realize that the bugs being found were specifically tested in Beta and were not seen there, right? This is because Beta and Live are two different environments, and stuff that seems fine in Beta with a few hundred or thousand testing it can break with a few hundred thousand in a slightly different environment.

MS has a good knowledge base article on how to do a "clean boot" to make sure there's not a bunch of stuff running in the background (basically, use msconfig to knock almost everything off of startup and reboot).

  7. Honestly, the best way to get people to run Doc Q is to make it the WST. After all, anyone would run it for 244 merits. :P

(Note, above suggestion is entirely tongue-in-cheek.)

I click on the NCsoft Launcher and all I get is an instant "NCsoft Launcer has stopped working" on a reltated note My APC Powerchute UPS monitoring software is doing the same thing.

I unistalled both programs reinstalled and made sure I was running as the admin. Prior to MS turning out this patch I had no problems.
From a quick survey of microsoft.com, your system is boned. You may need to get a LiveCD (Linux, WinPE) of some sort, back up the data you need, and wipe and reinstall Windows. And you need to make sure you don't have too much stuff running while you try to install SP1 again, as the error you got is usually caused by running out of free RAM. Unfortunately, when a Service Pack installation goes awry, it's not removable, or roll-backable 99% of the time.

UStream doesn't have that. Which is another reason I suggested Justin, since they have a channel subscription feature which does email you when they start streaming.

I didn't see any rednames respond in chat, only longtime forum posters.
  12. Maybe they don't know because it's getting drowned out in the chatflood.

This is what people who are having install problems through Windows Update should do.

Frankly, in the BAF, they can't take it, they simply face plant... it's ridiculous...
Actually, there was that exact complaint thanks to critical defense debuff cascade from the Romans. And then people worked out how to beat that.

I seem to recall nearly the exact same complaints about ITF on its launch (with a side-order of "you mean my pets are buffing the healing nictus' heal? What am I supposed to do now?), and now the thing is nearly trivial.

The Trials don't do that, not for MMs. They say 'Whatever you have is going to get neutered, your pets are going to be one shotted in a tide of AoE, and we're going to auto-hit snipe you when you try and resummon them somewhere safe. Lol at you.'

Of course, some people might like frustrating cheap tricks and auto-hit powers that masquerade as a 'challenge'.
Hmm... that may be true, but then again, remember how much wailing and gnashing of teeth there was for ITF at its launch. This will be the same.

It's not a speed snoop. It polls information on multi-threading/multi-core so that the game can take advantage of those. And yes, it is a call that MS could have probably patched compatible with SP2, but they didn't, because they tend to stop supporting service packs a couple years after the next one launches.

Its a call not available in pre-SP3 WinXP, that allows the game to take advantage of multi-threading and multi-core processors. They aren't "heartlessly booting XP users out the door", pre-SP3 XP users are simply an unfortunate side-effect of making the game run better for people with multi-threading or multi-core (which is available on rather inexpensive computers now. I paid 600 bucks for a dual-core laptop back in '05).

Hmmm... I may have to do a Linux partition on the new rig and see what happens, then. Although the last time I tried getting WINE to work on my old computer, I couldn't get any games to work, due to my particular video card not playing well with it.

Thank you SO much for having the Trials be the only realistic way of getting the new stuff, without being robbed blind by stupid bloody arbitrary barriers...
Honestly, it's nice to know that my MM will finally be challenged by something. MMs really do make a lot of this game trivial with some of the stuff they can do. (Granted, I do hope this is also a bit of "after the fact, not exactly straight remembering" for it, as it sounds a bit more brutal than, say, Vanguard vs. Melee.)

This is exactly what I needed, since I'm horrible at judging attack chains and such. And this is mostly just a thought-exercise at this point, and I'm more likely to go to about 50%-ish, drop the nerve for musculature, and rely on the fact that about 75% of the playerbase seems to take leadership now to do stuff like stand toe-to-toe with Bobcat.

Unless, maybe Spiritual will provide better DPS with its recharge (as a side note, I almost always have SB as this character is perma-duoed to my girlfriend's Mind/Kin).
