Well after a recovery it did?

I've had the sorry misfortune of updating my OS and during the course of the update I encountered "Fatal Error C000009A", unfortunately I can't roll back to before the Win7 Utlmiate SP1 update and for some reason The NCsoft Launcher and by association CoH will not launch.

I click on the NCsoft Launcher and all I get is an instant "NCsoft Launcer has stopped working" on a reltated note My APC Powerchute UPS monitoring software is doing the same thing.

I unistalled both programs reinstalled and made sure I was running as the admin. Prior to MS turning out this patch I had no problems.

From a quick survey of microsoft.com, your system is boned. You may need to get a LiveCD (Linux, WinPE) of some sort, back up the data you need, and wipe and reinstall Windows. And you need to make sure you don't have too much stuff running while you try to install SP1 again, as the error you got is usually caused by running out of free RAM. Unfortunately, when a Service Pack installation goes awry, it's not removable, or roll-backable 99% of the time.

Damn, thats 8 gigs of RAM, oh well.

The wipe really doesn't bother me since I tend to do that on a regular basis (the OS just seems to bog down after a few years on installs and removals) and everything I want to keep is pretty much in one folder (game saves, ect)

MS has a good knowledge base article on how to do a "clean boot" to make sure there's not a bunch of stuff running in the background (basically, use msconfig to knock almost everything off of startup and reboot).
