From the arcs I have done, it seems like you have to recover the tech that gotten stolen from let's say Black Scorpion. The hero version could be you being the one to steal it and thus copy the patron pool powers since you have their tech. It's slightly evil, but yet heroic.
EDIT: I will +1 the idea because I would love to be able to skip the side switching aspect as a whole just for the patrons. I certainly would like to skip it on a number of characters. One minor thing about switching. Let's say I take my namesake villain side so I can get Scorpion Shield. I lose the numeric listing of the prestige I have earned while in the SG, which should be number one. I also lose the join date which is the date the SG was created. There's simply no way I'm losing the creation date of the SG when it's already there in game. -
Quote:I hadn't played my Claws/regen in ages, but I did so today on a Synapse to get the Commander TF accolade. I wasn't as rusty as I thought I would be and it performed rather well. I even went into crazy scrapper mode a number of times. I actually stealthed to the AV and smacked into him when the temp stealth power ran out. I pulled off not dying and using ATT to get the rest of the team there to help me. Point is, getting the old skills back might not be so bad.So... you're enjoying your build, then? How unkillable do you feel, and compared to what? How clicky is it, and when does it get that clicky? Does the damage feel sad, or can you spend most of your time doing the DPS chain with no survivability concerns, or do the incarnate powers make it feel good? Any other comments?
I suppose the first thing to do if I'm thinking of pulling the trigger is to pull Werner out of retirement and learn to play Regeneration again. I bet I totally suck now.
Mind you, that would take playing the game again. I've barely touched it in months. A mission now and then. I just don't like the incarnate trials all that much, and the lack of a solo path to advance upsets me to the point where it has tainted the solo activities I normally find fun. Yes, yes, I know the only reason to advance is to run the incarnate trials. But if there was a solo path, I assume there would be a solo challenge as well. Sorry, way off topic.
But yeah, back on the original subject, just about everything goes well with Katana. Heck, Super Reflexes goes fine with Katana, and it probably benefits the least since you can soft cap without Divine Avalanche, and Divine Avalanche is kind of the reason to go Katana. It'll really smooth the leveling out, though, which is a nice bonus. I loves me some Katana.
I think the thing I like about Kat/sr for end game is since you don't need DA you can pump out the ideal attack chain with no worry of needing to cut into it. -
Spines with a damage aura in the secondary is rather awesome though.

I have ones of these. It's pretty much "if they don't die in 'x' seconds, I'm screwed." I've had teammates make jokes about how I think I'm a scrapper. On the right team, it can be amazing. On a bad team....

Note they said it was more than one farmer. If you are going to go out in the masses and PL, it's +4x8w/B, or go home. Hell, I can do +4x8 on my my SS/fire and I'm not even fully slotted with SO type enhancements and that was before I added macros.
-
A 4 mission TF is more than doable. I just got done with a Synapse TF that ran for around 2:30.
-
Still comes across as being over the top and and too flashy for my own personal taste, but I don't think I'm going to win this argument either.
-
I got a character with just about all of the market slots full, a full tray of enhancements, and ones in my e-mail just waiting for this weekend to hit. I'll be very happy to clear all of that out shortly. If salvage goes crazy, then that's what AE is for. If I wanted to, I could likely cake walk making a billion this weekend alone. I could likely do more, but I want to level as well.

Quote:My SS/fire is still redside, but I moved them to St. M. just because Cap was way too annoying. Once you get past Atlas and Cap on Freedom, things get much quieter.Coming from Union, where this didn't happen, I was shocked by Freedom's Atlas broadcasting of people charging inf to PL. Whenever I've farmed/PL'ed friends, *anyone* was free to tag along, as the way I saw it, I'd be in the mission anyhow and having a team chatting made it less monotonous. If they could stay alive and help clobber things, great. If they couldn't, they were just as welcome to door sit and chat. (I'd encourage newer folks to avoid farms when they were around, though. Just so they got to enjoy the levelling more, but I wouldn't refuse them).
It's pretty much the main reason I've avoided making a toon on Freedom, aside from the level 1 used for the stress test a while back. I, personally, much prefer the way things are done over on Union. (Not condemning the Freedom/NA way, just saying it's not for me). -
Sadly, this is one forum where that thread title comes across as somewhat funny.

You want tickets for the rewards since you can use those for random rolls from the ticket vendor. Ticket rolls are mentioned in the "Very Best Farmer" thread, but a quicker way would be to seek out the Market forum and it's guides. The Cyborg mission is a very popular ambush farm, but it's rewards are lacking. There are a number of fire farms, but I currently use FIRE! quite a bit. I'll poke around for some others that I wrote down just to break things up. A Fire/kin will be better for the higher level farms. Low levels are really geared towards brutes and their 775% damage cap.
-
Farming is a repeated action done to gain the desired reward.
One can farm the ITF for shards since you are most likely to get shard drops from it.
One can farm for purples by running missions on x8 with mobs that have level 50 drops.
One can farm for tickets by running AE missions at x8 although the higher the diff setting the quicker it is to hit the ticket cap, 1.5K for a mission. Any build can farm for tickets. The only difference is the speed in which it is done.
Power Leveling(PL) gets lumped in with farming because it is basically farming for exp, +4x8 with bosses being the ideal since the lower level character will be facing +5s. If you see a non-level 50 asking for a farm, they are doing so because they want to get PLed. Sure, they will get tickets as well if it's done via AE, but that's a secondary goal. A smaller number of builds can PL others, but the current king is a SS/fire/mu brute. It is a common practice for the farmer to even take payment for them to farm other players(not saying it's right mind you) and certainly in cases where it's a private farm. A private farm is where the number of players getting PLed is on the lower side and ideally it's just two people doing the mission since they will get far more rewards for doing x8 sized mobs versus an 8 player team doing it. Players can set up trades which means person A farms person B, and then they switch.
As much info as you'll ever need on farming is found in the brute forum via three threads, "Very Best Farmer?," "Lowbie Farming Map," and "Cebr." There's even walk through videos on how to do it. "Very Best Farmer?" covers the debate on which brute really is king and why. "Lowbie Farming Map" is based on how one can farm tickets and PL oneself using low level maps. "Cebr" is covering low level maps, but specifically with a Claws/elec brute.
My official opinion on farming is...it's an option. I wouldn't do it if I was a new player since they would have too much to still learn about the game. The game doesn't need more AE babies. I didn't break down and try self PLing a character until I was nearly a 6 year vet. I'm not even doing it for the currency it can generate since I have generated around 6-8, or so billion from the market. It was merely done because it's one of the only things I haven't done in game.
It's been an interesting experiment and I'll leave it at that. Some days I have no problem going through a 5 mission arc and burning through the tickets I get for it. Some days I nearly cringe at the sight of an AE building. My level 50 SS/fire feels like it still has it's training wheels on because about the only thing it is currently good for is ambush farms. Once I get it IOed, then the real fun begins. It's interesting to think I have a level 50 and yet there is no story of going to level 50 outside of ambush farms. Compare that to my other 50s and I can tell numerous stories about their journey to 50. My Earth/storm had teammates chanting her name. My SS/fire has people asking if I'm running any farms even if I say nothing. Like I said, it's an option. -
With a Spiderman movie coming out soonish I wouldn't doubt this would be a way to work him in there. Marvel is adding one shot type movies so they could be adding a character from one of those.

Quote:Won't need the fan base if it's done correctly and seriously. Treated like a Star Wars or Serenity rather than a super hero genre it could do well as generic space opera. Which after all is what the original comic was.Quote:if it's a good flick and they dont spend stupid amounts of money to make it, does it NEED a good fan base already in order to make it profitable?
And I rest my case. -
Quote:I don't recall Synapse being the one to say they want to proliferate everything they could. It was Posi. Some sets won't be done, hence the "everything that can" versus simply saying "everything," as Pain was specifically made because corrs weren't going to get Empathy due to theme. Defenders rather likely will never get Pain due to causing teammates pain to buff yourself isn't very defender like. Before GR, Pain was the villainous version of Empathy, as Empathy itself wasn't villainous in theme. With Freedom allowing all basic AT's to start on either side, and Synapse saying that they'll eventually proliferate everything they can, I wouldn't be so certain on it never being a Defender primary. Sure, it won't be anytime soon, but with newer sets being created pre-proliferated, 'Fenders have what left? Poison and Pain, in that order, I expect.
-
Repeat Offenders network of SGs ran an all Empathy SG called the Green Machines. I poked around on their forum and nobody has posted this year for that particular SG, so I don't know how much if at all it's still going. I don't know of an all /pain VG/SG.

Quote:Not fixing the exploits gives the people reporting these exploits the feeling that the devs dont care, and are indeed okay with it until they are not. They are only not okay with it when the devs feel it reaches a critical mass. For the MM exploit for instance, that was closed up relatively quickly, but bile spray? Months.Quote:The devs have an excellent track record of making content obsolete. To be fair to them, the playerbase is just as good at it. Praetoria for example.
I actually like Praet. I just got another character through there, and have 3 more to go. -
I level up build 1 with SOs and then IO out build 2. This frees me up having to use a respec although I have numerous respec tokens via vet rewards. If I'm doing end game content, I can use build 2. If I am doing lower level stuff, I can simply use build 1 if I feel it is needed.

It has been talked about on a private channel which gets a lot of action that people don't run it because it's far easier to do speed versions of BAF and Lambda. Since people are less willing to do Keys, less people know how to deal with it. I have yet to do it and I haven't gotten much urge to do it. I do maybe one BAF/Lam combo a week, or two. So far it looks like Keys is the odd person out in terms of trials among the player base.

Fixing the placement bug and then letting people place stuff based on an actual 3D design. If somebody wants to put something in mid air, let them.
Access to trainers, market, and tailors via the base.
Better storage options as the one rack is limited to 30. Storing recipes would be nice.
Making the mission computer worth anything. It should at least give you options to run missions through it that offer higher than normal prestige rewards.
Offline invites.
Auto pay base rent.
New textures. If other places are getting revamped, then bases should as well.
New options in terms of items we can place, ie bases still only have options to build basic telepads. How about an advanced one that holds four beacons?
A beacon to Cim would be nice. -
Even if the movie is amazing, is there really the fan base to make this a profitable movie?

Quote:Let's extend this beyond AE. Striga, Faultline, and Croatoa all have solid story arcs and doing two of them unlock TFs. Croatoa also gives significant exp rewards for completing the final mission for a contact. Now, when was the last time you saw teams being built for those zones and how often does it happen period? I think CoH in part suffers from content overload and adding more to it via AE just adds to the problem. The AE UI could be changed to help counter with this as well.It is unfortunate for sure. If that is indeed the case, I am not sure how blaming farmers solves anything when it sounds like it may be the apathy of the MA community.
In my playtime, it is very rare to find someone on a global channel putting together an AE team to play arcs. I think I can remember one time. Considering I have two servers main channels in my global list, that is anemic support. I also very rarely see people advertising a farm team being put together, but thats because farmers are dirty and aren't interested in the backlash.
If you are on a server that goes yellow then you have a rather good chance of PL broadcasters being there. -
It's true as long as you have that AT unlocked which won't be, or might not be the case for F2P/premium players.

I like it more now that fitness is inherited. I could see taking another pool, ie Leadership depending on the primary, or Concealment for more ways to slot LotG: def/+rec. Weave does help in building def to S/L. and if you haven't slotted the res/+3% def IO somewhere else you can slot it into Tough.
