With a Spiderman movie coming out soonish I wouldn't doubt this would be a way to work him in there. Marvel is adding one shot type movies so they could be adding a character from one of those.

I can imagine an episode full of comic book/super hero references. Reminds me of the vampire/werewolf/Halloween episode.

Castle: [Castle admiring the artwork at a murder victim's apartment] Reminds me of early Frank Miller.

I don't watch Castle, but maybe he has a cousin Frank, sort of the black sheep of the family.
