Call for 2XP Story Arcs (not farms)
Unfortunately AE does not grant double XP, so running AE arcs on 2xp weekend wont get you any further ahead than any other weekend.
See how little I know about XP & AE?
Still, there's going to be a lot more players on this weekend and 2XP or not, they could enjoy some AE arcs that have nice rewards. This list isn't limited to just this weekend.

Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
Wait...you didn't know that Backfire? I thought you were asking specifcally because 2xp didn't affect AE and thus you wanted the most enjoyable run despite that.

And yeah, 2XP or not, that was my intent: to highlight enjoyable, legit arcs that give great rewards, too.

The Ms Manners Task Force #416951 was designed for a team of eight and to give max rewards. It's humor based and a sequel of sorts to Trademark Infringement and In Poor Taste.

Edit - I didn't the notice the "are not too time consuming" requirement. The arc is designed to be TF like and though only four missions, it may be longer than you are looking for if you are looking for quick eight person team arcs.
Check out one of my most recent arcs:
457506 - A Very Special Episode - An abandoned TV, a missing kid's TV show host and more
416951 - The Ms. Manners Task Force - More wacky villains, Wannabes. things in poor taste
or one of my other arcs including two 2010 Player's Choice Winners and an2009 Official AE Awards Nominee for Best Original Story
4 mishes should be fine as long as they're pretty much straight-forward action missions. 3 or 4 mishes should be easily doable in 1 play session and if the rewards are "maximized" then that works great!
What I'm trying to avoid are arcs that incorporate excessive chained objectives that run players around missions, sinking their time, or large map defeat alls that make it feel like you're grinding instead of making progress with the story.

A 4 mission TF is more than doable. I just got done with a Synapse TF that ran for around 2:30.
Only 1 arc submitted to this thread?
Wake up call: this is a niche that needs filling.

My arcs Day Job Hell and A Wake For Dead 6 (see sig) might fit the criteria, but I've never run them with a team so I don't know if they would fit the PUG-friendly requirement*; I also therefore don't know if they max out on tickets for a group. Come to think of it, I wasn't consciously designing them around "high rewards" so they might not fit at all in that case. At any rate, both were made for lowbies, 1-10 for DJH and 5-15 (I think) for Wake.
But I'll still toss them out here and you can decide.
*Can't imagine they'd be terribly tough though...
This is one of those areas I see story arc authors really needing to improve upon. Just think of how many more players would give your arc a try if you could tell them your arc gives full to max rewards? Or if you could tell them, up front & accurately, how many tickets they could expect per mish and how long each will take.
There's no reason we couldn't tell a compelling story AND provide optimized rewards.
We could really learn something from our farm-crafting counterparts in this respect and be a benefit to both ourselves and our players.

I certainly try to have all my arcs give full rewards.
In some cases I even put in "bonus maps" that you can keep playing even after the mission is complete, if you want more rewards. The arc doesn't work right now but in "Evolve Or Die", one mission has all the objectives appear in the first room, and then there's 3 or 4 entire floors of enemies remaining to be killed, for those who so desire.
Winner of Players' Choice Best Villainous Arc 2010: Fear and Loathing on Striga; ID #350522
The arc in my sig is almost entirely existing bad guys, and the only customs are set at 100%, but it is pretty text heavy for a team.

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

From the chatter I've seen on the forums, I can't imagine any of our serious arc creators ignores this issue with foe creation.
Wellp... despite feeling a bit awkward with the self-promotion, my arc 'Small Fears' (12285) should qualify- unless my memory has slipped a cog (again), while it is (very) custom-heavy, I'm fairly cerain that none of them are below the... argh, can't check for certain right now... say the 90% mark for experience.

K, I've updated the OP with current submissions we can test this weekend with the AE Storyteam.
For testing purposes, tho, I need some help...I don't know what the expected rewards would be for an optimized arc.
- What's the preferred measurement? # of tickets per mish or # of tickets per minute?
- How many tickets per mission (or minute) is considered 'good'?

I'll offer Attack of the 50 Foot Villain (arc 363366), the arc of mine which has most frequently been accused of being a farm. (Apparently being a 1 mission Defeat All is enough to qualify for this status....) It is perhaps a bit too hard for real low level toons to play, but personally I have a fun time stomping around smashing stuff.
It's a 1-mission arc, villainous alignment. Recommended for max height characters.
@PW - Police Woman (50 AR/dev blaster on Liberty)
TALOS - PW war journal - alternate contact tree using MA story arcs

Welcome to M.A.G.I. is 5 missions/Heroic alignment. Level 1 to 10.

the custom group i use in the story arc located in my sig is completely balanced to give out standard xp rewards while not being too overpowering for poeple and having a nice variety
the arc i designed was meant to be a mini tf for lvl 45+ (theres a lot i wish i could do with the arc that we cant exactly do just yet but the arc still has potential)
Oops- sorry for not supplying more info, BackFire. Small Fears is a three-mission heroic arc, and, after double-checking, I can say with confidence that there are no customs with less than 88% experience (some sets simply don't give much experience, which is kind of weird).

I probably should have done this a week ago so we'd have a list already tested for this weekend, but with Double XP Weekend fast approaching, I was thinking it'd be nice to have a list of non-farm story arcs that are also designed for high rewards. Like the story arc alternative to farming.
What I'd like to accomplish here is to provide players who are looking to maximize their rewards during 2XP weekend with a legit alternative to farming. A list of arcs where they can simply go down the list, enjoy great stories, and get great XP/Rewards without having to grind a plot of land over and over.Sure, I could load up almost any arc from PoliceWoman's, the AE Storyteam's, or ArrowRose's list and get XP, but I'm looking for arcs that maximize rewards in particular.
I'm not exactly sure on the requirements of each arc but here's what I was thinking (can update with your suggestions.)
2XP arcs would be ones that:
Suggestions for arcs and/or requirements/settings listed above would be appreciated!
