Pure, unbridled destruction?

So, as an avid fan of tankers and the play style, I'm looking for something a little different. And by 'a little' I mean completely different. I want something that'll go from a standstill to scorched earth in the shortest amount of time possible. Just as importantly it needs to be able to do this on the way to level 50, since I rarely play a character much after it hits 50. It doesn't need survivability in any shape or form, in fact I'd almost prefer it didn't, just a lot of shock and awe.

I'm currently thinking Fire/Fire or Fire/MM blaster for this particular character, though I'm open to other suggestions.

So, thoughts?

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

I believe a fire/fire blapper is exactly what your looking for.

I have ones of these. It's pretty much "if they don't die in 'x' seconds, I'm screwed." I've had teammates make jokes about how I think I'm a scrapper. On the right team, it can be amazing. On a bad team....

My Electric Melee/Fire Armour Scrapper is about to hit 50.
She's an excellent balance between pure explosive power and just enough survivability to take on the large crowds her area damage demands.

That's why you go fire/fire/fire: "If they don't die in 'x' seconds, they're screwed."

Fire/Fire/Fire is fun because after you get Rise of the Phoenix, dying can just be part of your attack chain.

Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.

I'd go with either Fire/Energy or Fire/MM blaster. /Energy gets early Build Up and the absolutely devastating Bone Smasher and Total Focus for single targets. /MM gets Psychic Scream and Psychic Shockwave. Either way, I'd go with Electric for the ancillary because it gets another cone attack. So if you want something up your sleeve for single targets, Fire/Energy/Electric. If you want pure conical death, Fire/MM/Electric.

If you're willing to go villain, then Leviathan Mastery, Mu Mastery, and Soul Mastery have two additional AOEs each, so you can roll with one of those.

Mind/Psi or Fire/Fire Dominator!!!

Why? It makes everything die! It makes your Tank sad? It's cheapy IOed and procced for max doom and eaily perma dommed at even lower levels, and it's melee/range options are built in to allow for power pool choices which allow for more "hittage" (Not a word, don't use "Hittage")

You are a squishy glass cannon without your kill death ratio being close to each other.

So it's like a blaster, but the low fat version. All the taste with half the calories!

You are probably looking for something a little squishier to completely oppose your usual playstyle but if you don't mind Pure, unbridled destruction with extreme survivability I'd recommend a Crab.
Go full pet plus full aoe including leviathan and it is absolutely devastating. 6 pets (plus lore) all going at it with reactive, a full compliment of powerful aoes and 35% aoe resist debuffs (55% for Toxic which two of your aoes inflict).
Even Giant Monsters don't last long Vs a Crab.

I have been a bit bored lately, and needed a good kick for something new and fun, and I found it a Fire/fire Dom. I play it like a blapper/brute mentality plays really good in melee and always attacking and running to the next mob to build domination. I'm at 32 now and its been a blast its a toon that I will probably slot all the way up, instead of just a bit.

Its a good mix on the right team you will be tearing through mobs and others will think your crazy in the head or crazy good, other times you will be screaming at your pc thats when you just dial it back to 10 from 11.

I assume you mean a focus on AoE as well, so yeah, the fire/fire is likely the best bet.

I'd probably wait and try out /StJ before jumping on a new tank, myself. Word on the street (bud-dump ching) is that is pretty and filled with pow bam oof

Rad/Fire Blaster

Irradiate
Electron Haze
Neutron Bomb
Atomic Blast

Combustion
Fire Sword Circle
Blazing Aura
Consume
Burn
Hot Feet

Irradiate, Electron Haze, Combustion and Fire Sword Circle by level 10, slot chance for -res into Irradiate and slot up for endurance/recovery and recharge, giggle.

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

I vote rad/fire also! Fire blast is fantastic of course but radiation has some neat tricks of its own, and it pairs up better with fire manipulation. It also gives you some extremely cursory mitigation in cosmic burst, and the -def effect is nothing to sneeze at, especially since it widens the slotting options.

I've a few characters who fit the bill of mass carnage.

Fire/EM blaster - massive damage and good survivability since Boost Range allows you to stay out of melee. This is the character I grab when I'm in the mood to just kill things without any other concerns. I've built to near the soft cap in Ranged defense and have little trouble with mobs. The DE Quartz pets are a PITA though.

BS/Shield scrapper - not really what you're talking about but it puts out massive damage while maintaining mid level tanker durability. It's probably second to my blaster for raw damage output and far more durable.

Fortunata spec'd Widow - loads of AOE Psi damage, decent control and status protection with soft capped defense. With double leadership this character doesn't miss and hits hard. It's basically a def capped blaster with status protection. The downside is nearly all the damage is Psi... heavily resisted by several mob types.

I've others that are quite capable of considerable damage output; my Spine/Electric scrapper is an AOE machine and excels at quickly killing large groups of minions/LT's but is less effective against bosses.

If you're building a team of characters there's always the old standby Fire/Rad controller; one of them is very good and adding more of them gets into the range of "game breakingly good".

A Fire/Dark corrupter is also a good choice and does a fantastic job of melting the mobs.

I've a young Fire/Fire dominator that shows promise but is incredibly squishy although at 24 he's a long ways from being mature.

Im sure most people here could show you a better build, but throwing around this much fiery chaos feels awesome. My in-game build isnt even IO'd yet and it is awesome, I cant wait to put this one together for real.

I agree with this. I'd add SS/Fire, but seems like you want to stay away from melee AT's.

Fire/Fire/Fire Blaster all the way. If you're looking for something a little more exotic, however, I highly recommend the Fire/Fire/Fire Brute. Either way, everything's on fire.

Everything.
