    My first tank

    Pros:

Really easy to hit the soft cap for Defense to Smashing, Lethal, Energy, and Negative Energy

    High Cold Resistance

    Good resistance to speed debuffs

    A good self heal/+HP power

Great at holding aggro, with two aggro auras, including on auto-hit one that does -Speed, -Recharge, and -DMG to the enemy

A great Tier 9 panic button

Good Mez Protection, with few PvE holes

    An endurance recovery power

    Cons:

    Typed Defense versus positional

Relatively low protection to Fire, though it is respectable

As with most Defense sets, relatively weak in the lower levels, until you get to SOs

Relies a decent amount on Energy Absorption, which doesn't come until level 26

Chilling Embrace can sometimes interfere with herding

No Defense to Psychic or Toxic damage

Defense-based, with little resistance to common damage types (meaning that you'll get hit very little, but when you do, it hurts)

Those are my takes on the set.
  2. Lemur, I think what the OP is trying to say is that the Zombies and other summons would stay the same, but the other powers would change to the other set.

So, you'd summon zombies, grave knights, and the lich, and I'd imagine that the upgrade powers would be the same, but instead of the Dark blasts, you'd get pistol attacks.
  3. Are the Praetorian clockwork actually controlled by the Clockwork King? I didn't think that they were, just that they were supposed to 'look like' the clockwork on Prime Earth.

Even if they aren't, no reason that this couldn't be, but I'm just sayin'.

Im not even sure why Im arguing that, because that is NOT the point of the OP. I seem to have missed the part where you became psychic somewhere.

Sprint is a basic power, given at level 1. Its the 'base movement power' if you will. It's cost, when compared with the other basic power and the powers in the 2 AT Sets is unreasonable.

If its not such an issue for certain, whats the problem with changing it? It'd be hard to say 'Give us a walk button, a stroll button and a run button, all of them customisable.'
Reduce the endurance cost to a more reasonable level. Who loses?
Just because it is given at level 1 doesn't mean that it needs to be cheap.

It was created by the Devs specifically as a power that you'd turn off in combat. It was designed to allow for a bit easier travel times before level 14 when you got your travel power. It was specifically designed to have a high cost to prevent you from running it all of the time.

Just because you don't do that, doesn't mean that the power is broken. It still does exactly what it was meant for, and exactly what it advertises.

I'm sorry that you feel otherwise. However, in my opinion, I see no need for a change to the power. You outgrow it by level 14, or at least should, and move on to better forms of travel.
  5. It's part of the new Blaster Inherent. You get access to your first two primary powers, and your first secondary power, even when mezzed.
  6. Again, it was not the logging out and back in that did it. You had probably started hunting in a new area again, and because the new Fir Bolg were in the correct area, it counted them towards the mission.

You were in the right zone before, but not the right neighborhood.
  7. Join another server. You've got plenty of available slots out there to use.
  8. Add more Villain-side TFs, and cover the holes in the SF level ranges over there first, then maybe go through and add some more TFs to the current TF and SF contacts.
  9. NetMinder: I really like your idea. I like weighing the benefits versus a potential cost. And it also allows you to stick to the safe road if you want to, so that if you don't want to be affected by the change, you won't be.

    Moar Merits!

You know, I was trying to come up with an argument against this, mostly trying to figure out if it could be exploited, but I think that since any of the accolades you can get take a decent amount of time to get, that this wouldn't be a problem.

However, I would say that it shouldn't be tied to each Accolade that doesn't have a power associated with it. Ones I would leave out: V.I.P., Pocket D VIP Member. Mostly, because those can be gained just from logging in. Although, I guess those could count as accolades with powers, but I just wanted to highlight two that I thought would be problematic.

Also, with the recent changes to some of the villain accolade badge requirements, would this be fairly even from CoH to CoV in terms of ease of acquiring?

This. You need to have enemies in range to see any +Def increase.

Ummm...okay. For tankers, it's mag 4, like most of the other Taunt auras. Though, it does seem to have a longer Taunt duration than most taunt auras (minus Invincibility), so that could have had something to do with it.

The Scrapper might just have been pumping out so much more damage than you that he stole aggro. What levels were the two of you? What attacks did you have? There's a lot more to getting aggro than just letting the aggro aura work.

Remember that the Threat formula is this:

    Threat = Damage * DebuffMod * AI Mod * RangeMod * AT Mod * (TauntDurationRemaing * 1,000)

So, if the BS/SD Scrapper is putting out more damage, and you're a lower level Tanker (your Taunt effects, except Taunt, have a scaling duration on them as you level), then it might have been easier for the Scrapper to steal the aggro.

If the Scrapper went in first, this would make even more sense, though, as, from Castle, you need to have twice as much Threat as the current target in order to steal aggro from them.

Which one would hold agro easier?
First off, why aren't you taking Soul Drain or Dark Consumption on your Elec/Dark Tanker? Both of those are good powers to have. And at least take Soul Drain, if you don't feel like you need Dark Consumption to help with Endurance. The AoE effect, plus the damage boost on it, will help hold aggro, too.

WP/ has a very weak Taunt Aura, such that anything that you wander away from for more than a second or two is likely to forget about you. Elec/'s is much longer lasting (13.5 seconds at level 50 compared to WP's 1.25 seconds), and does damage, which does help to keep aggro.

Foot Stomp is a great way to get aggro, for sure, but Lightning Field is a continuous power, and as such should hold aggro a bit better.

As such, Id say that your Elec/ Tanker will hold aggro better, but why not take your /Dark AoEs?

Did you or the Scrapper start attacking first?

I believe it's that if your rep is too far in the red, you can't judge anyone one way or the other. Basically, if you have no good rep, you can't judge others.

Under the poster's name, there a bit of information about them (including their rep). Below THAT, are three little buttons. One shows if they're online or not. The next one over is a little balance. Click on that, and it will drop down a little box. In there, you can either approve or disapprove of their post, and write a reason if you want to.

While it is considered socially polite here to sign the reason and rep, you are under no obligation to do so.
  18. Better than Willpower's, about the same as Fire's, a little bit behind Invuln and Stone, and behind Ice Armor and Dark (since they have multiple).

It's about on par with all of the pure damage Taunt Auras, like Blazing Aura and Icicles.
  19. Is it just me, or are all of these complaints recently about the servers being dead coming from people on Freedom? It seems to be a trend. People on other servers seem to be reporting that server pops are up, but Freedomites are saying that they're down.

Not saying that's good or bad, just a trend I'm seeing.
  20. In regards to number 4, the Suggestions forum is down here for a reason. The Devs do still check it out every once in a while, but blame the players for getting it moved down here (well, a subset of the forum posters, at least).
  21. Apparently, from what I can gather on the forums, Freedom did seem to lose some population come I16. However, the rest of the servers seem to be more active than they were before I16. Why this is, I'm really not sure, but I have my guesses.

Still, I would check out the Justice forum, towards the bottom of the list, and check for global channels that include a lot of people from Australia/New Zealand.

  23. Yes. If you have the ingredients, you can craft any enhancement, of any level, even if it's +49 to you. Doesn't mean you'll be able to slot it, though.

Welcome to the internet, where people will complain about everything! Even things that result in fixing the problem that they just complained about!

    So, Energy Melee

Well, because of the long animations of Energy Melee now, you can get into trouble during the attacks, as pointed out above. During the animations, you can't activate things like Dark Regeneration. However, toggle powers, like Rise to the Challenge, will continue to work just fine during the animations, adding to your survivability. Since Willpower has no real click-based mitigation, it will allow you to live longer during the long-animating attacks, where if you go Dark Armor, you might find yourself dead because you couldn't activate Dark Regen in time.

I'm not saying that Dark/EM is bad, just that I think Willpower/EM would be better.
