Quote:To me, a ranged weapon should never be a part of a melee set regardless of the fact that melee sets have ranged powers in them already. Ranged weapons are for ranged powersets, and melee weapons for melee powersets. Aside from ridiculousness, what seperates the spirit of this suggestion from, say, Archery Melee?
I am also dubious of the suggestion to instead create a Katana 'Manipulation'-styled set for Blasters... as again it crosses that above barrier. There is just something about the aesthetics of it that I don't like.Quote:You don't see why it wouldn't be a problem? You don't see why it would be a problem? Or You see why it wouldn't be a problem?
Personally, I think the concept is too niche for a complete set. Probably be more likely to just add alternate animations to claws where you have the option to have a pistol in one hand and a blade in the other.
Dominator assault set. Sorted.
Smeg, it's not like they HAVE any natural options at the moment as it is.
Or they should just make a damn Assault/Armour AT already. It's the only type (I can think of) missing from the game that makes decent sense.
And no, its NOT tank maging. HEATs and VEATs have Assault/Armour, and they are not tank mages. End. -
There is a reason I double slot -KB globals into my Crab Spider. And a reason I try and avoid getting KB'd on nearly all of my chars.
If KB was handled the same as NPCs, then maybe. But PCs can be juggled an insane ammount, and KB isn't fun, its just frustrating.
And I AM an RPer. And I still /unsign this
Edit: Oh, and I see someone mentioned Makos Leviathan map.
There are not enough words, images or memes to express how much I. HATE. That bloody mission! -
Marauders 'landing' animation from the Lambda cinematic would fit perfectly...

I can either do a Journal entry or an Interview with the Steamknight, Sir Harry Velmont. He's from the same dimension/space as the SSP's, but with a different slant on his views.

They do energy damage, but they use different animations and sound fx. Pity we can't get sfx customisation for powers, but hey ho.
-
Ah, so it's not just me then.
I just click Yes to both windows I get, and the game runs fine. It's just irritating though. -
1) Asked for. Lots
2) Asked for. Lots
3) Pretty sure that's been asked for too.
4) Asked for
5) Asked for.
6) Hmn...probably mentioned as a 'Recolour EB', but a set like the Legacy's light blasts would be quite cool.
7) Suggested.
Wether/When/IF we get any of them is an entire other matter. -
There's no 'Pause' Option. How the heck does that work?
Edit: Ok, got it. To clarify for people;
Run the launcher with BETA posted above. When it's made the folder just CLOSE the launcher. This will auto pause it. Then copy paste everything and delete the checksums.
Then open the launcher for a second time, and it will have skipped the massive download. -
Quote:First, you have to KNOW you need Naylor.Sow hat we need is a villain mission full of over seers that can be farmed for the badge?
Can you farm them in Technician Naylor's stuff?
Second, you need to make sure you know EXACTLY is in his contact tree.
Third, you have to hop onto said tree at exactly the right level in Nerva, make SURE as hell that you don't outlevel it, and then, finally, you can have your shot at Rularuu weapons.
That seems ridiculously overcomplicated to me.
Quote:It's actually 200, and technically it unlocks off an invisible badge (the same one required to unlock Viridian).
But it's still reasonable. Beating up 200 goons of any class (unlike the damn Family Tommygun unlock) works fine and makes sense. Beat up bad guys, take their guns. -
I think this thread and in game responses are pretty telling of a lot of peoples opinions on arbitrary gating.
And yes, it's MORE a disservice to the art team if no one ever wears the stuff because they cannot be bothered to grind themselves sick. -
Villain side unlocks for both Rularuu weapons and Redcap daggers are still, frankly, bull hokey.
Then again, MOST of the weapon unlocks are bull hokey, sadly. The only reasonable ones IMO are the Council rifles which don't even require a badge; you just punk 100 Council soldiers.
Nice and simple and ties in thematically; why is that not a standard model?
(Although that still wouldn't help Villain side...yay) -
It's true, and it hurts, but it's true, so I laugh, but it hurts, cos it's true, and it...

Quote:^ This. Even though I find it a little cheaty that the entire PC seems to be made of Impervium, at least it is part of a challenge like setting. I can live with that easily. This one I actually disagree with. The computer is setup as a challenge, it's not just a matter of dealing sufficient damage to kill it but doing so whilst surviving the onslaught of the robots.
There is an important distinction between mission objectives such as the Mole Machines which just sit there and take it and the computer which summons ambushes to defend itself while you are pounding it.
Mole machines? Only thing I'm fighting is booooredom -_- -
Paragon Times, page 4 side column
All quiet on the Home Front?
Despite the ever growing problems facing us across the dimensional borders, things have seemed relatively quiet on the more common battlegrounds back home. International tensions between the United States and the Arachnos group of the Etoile isles (known by many as the 'Rogue Isles') seem to be mostly passive, with only minor skirmishes on both sides. Experts believe that the insurgent Praetorian armed forces threat has given both sides a common enemy.
There are still reports of troop movements in around St Martial and Mercy Islands, but these have been put down to military maneuvers in response to the latest wave of portal strikes.
Longbow representatives stated that, for now, their main priority is safeguarding citizens against future Praetorian military strikes. There has been no available comment from Arachnos. -
Uh...they are? I used the steamtank backpack on my Nemesis PCs already
-
Vanguard legs.
Vanguard legs w/ pad.
I want them.
And the VG backpack. It's that simple. -
There. Is. No. Mole Machine. Mission.
*twitch* -
Has anyone else been told, on loading the NC Launcher, that it needs to delete a virtual folder in City of Heroes (US) and City of Heroes? It's been doing that since the last launcher patch, and before this patch. It doesn't stop me running anything, it's just...weird.

"Heroes are made in America" is a line that made me eyeroll...
Other than that? Looking VERY nice. Do want. -
It'd be nice if the Tanks in Praetoria and the RWZ did something, along with those attack choppers. /Signed
-
So long as these were optional, i.e. we could choose which effects were applied where. I wouldn't want to pick a really cool looking gun and then find the cooked in SFX drove me mad.

Quote:No, there really isn't.Everytime you switch between fire sword and incinerate, or brawl, or sands of mu, there's a redraw. Same thing with stone fists, and stone hammer. Everytime you switch between AR or DP and just about any attack of the secondary power sets there's a redraw time. Anytime you use a temporary power there's a redraw.
Fire sword -> Incinerate -> Fire Sword Circle = No redraw
Pistol attack -> Fire Sword -> Rifle -> Pistol = 3 redraws. One to draw the pistol first, none with fire sword, redraw for the rifle and redraw for the final pistol.
Redraw between a Primary and a secondary is acceptable. Thats how all the current weapon sets work.
This suggestion implements two instances of redraw in the same primary set. That isn't going to cut it.
