Go to Bloody Bay and enlist the aid of a Shivan. If they're going to destroy humanity, they might as well be put to work for the privilege.

Quote:"That crowd"?Left a SSA team because a bunch of the members were being extremely rude.
I wish I could name names. Are we seriously getting that crowd already?
You mean VIP subscribers? Because, they're the only ones who can do SSAs without having to pay extra for it.
Otherwise, they're folks who paid extra to be rude. -
They live forever as a database file. They become resource intensive on the Live Servers only when they're instanced. When the denizens of a base are offline, the base instance is discarded and goes back to just being a data file.

The people who say CoH has bad graphics fall into distinct groups:
1. Those who compare it to console games that can afford to make extremely realistic graphics on a standardized platform without having to worry about all the zillion extra polygons and textures that's in a game with this degree of complexity and customization and trying to make it look good on all sorts of PC configurations. It's comparing apples to oranges.
2. The same situation happens above when CoH is compared to the Asian model of MMOs that create spectacular player models... but don't have the customization that CoH has. They can afford to make highly realistic avatars when there's only a handful of models to make. I'd like to see them provide a billion costume combos for their avatars.
3. Those who have crappy computers and videocards and monitors. When you have a rig that can take advantage of most of what Ultra Mode can provide, the graphics are downright beautiful.
4. Those who are used to that 800 lb gorilla of an MMO with super saturated colors. They've gotten used to playing in a cartoon graphics world and can't appreciate a more realistic setting. -
Besides offering a license for Base Privileges (paying rent, creating, editing) they can also make it a reward for a certain Reward Level. That would prevent a million resource-hogging bases from pure freebies, but still allow Premiums to use bases, and, most importantly... monetize it!

Freemiums can participate in the Seed of Hamidon event in First Ward, but not the arcs unless purchased a la mode.
I would think that for those not too interested in reading mission info that the normal path would be:
- Death From Below
- At level 8 go to Kings Row for Radio Mission and the Safeguard for the Fly Pack.
- More Death From Below until 14, then Posi I and II
- At level 18, Faultline for the two 15-29 arcs.
- At 20, a lot of options open up
-
If they have in the past... not anymore. Once Base Raiding became a dead issue, there was no reason to discourage single-player Bases. The very fact that Prestige costs have dropped so significantly that it is now trivially easy to have one-player bases would indicate a change in Dev position.

You can make it +20 enhancement inventory for a total of 30 slots. Which means that any respec that re-uses at least half of its Enhancements can save the rest in inventory.
(I'm waiting for that one to go on sale.) -
Quote:Because if any company running a MMO had to live up to the level of bug-free experience you wanted, then updates would happen only once a year (and you'd be screaming for more content), OR, you'd be paying $50 a month for the bug-free experience.MMOs getting away with the most bug ridden code to ever be sold to customers. No other type of game company would/could get away with this type of nonsense. I have no idea how MMO game companys get away with this stuff but if console game companys tried this they would be laughed off the system and forced into bankruptcy.
There's a reason why PhotoShop costs over 700 bucks.
Cheap, lots of content, bug-free: Pick two; because all three are not possible. -
While true that it's there for Dev use at their discretion, it has been unavailable for a long time without any reason given. It's also called The Training Room for a reason in that, when it is available, it can be used to try stuff out, and the Devs are usually accommodating of cross-server PvP on Test.
It would be nice to know its status. -
Ms. Machina. Deus ex Machina. She's the living incarnation of a punch in reality.

Consolidated from several threads:

One tip for successful search results is to search just the thread titles. There's a drop down choice for that right under the Keyword field.
Also, at the bottom left, chose do display Threads and not just Posts so you don't get every post in every thread, but just the listing of threads. -
Quote:Afterburner, there was a thread in the forums explaining how it really worked and how best to use it.
If anybody has that thread bookmarked, please post the link so I can read it.
Click on Search on top of the page and then click on advanced search.
Put afterburner in the Keywords field. Under that, click on the drop down and chose Search Titles Only.
At the bottom of that box click on Show Results as Threads. Then click on Search Now. -
Quote:This is indeed the situation. The legacy contact chain got broke when they chopped off the beginning zone missions. The only way to pick up the trail is with a Safeguard mission (which, thankfully, even if you fail, you still get a contact).Right now, when you finish the Atlas Park missions you're told to go to KR and see a detective. The only other contacts that pop up, even using Find Contacts, are Twinshot and Wincott.
I've found it pretty annoying myself since, if you don't want to do Twinshot, you have to run radios to get back onto a contact track.
This was pointed out in Beta and never fixed, if indeed it will ever get fixed since the Devs may have other ideas about revamping the level 5-15 missions. Or, learning about and doing Radio/Safeguards is intended since it will eventually lead you back to the legacy arcs. -
Well, subscriber-only isn't the only way to deal with Premium-only bases. They can sell a license to operate a base. Which I hope they do because as base rents start coming due in the upcoming month, we're going to be hit with Premium member spam looking for VIPs to pay their rent.

With PvP Sets, they have an extra set of Bonuses that function in a PvP setting.
The Damage Proc is not an effect of the Set's bonuses. It happens if it is the only IO of that Set that is slotted. It does have an extra 10% to go off in PvP, though.
See here: paragonwiki.com/wiki/Gladiator's_Strike:_Chance_for_Smashing_Damage
What makes it more expensive is that it's useful outside of PvP and yet has the rarity of a PvP IO. Other PvP sets have dropped in price because for non-PvPers, the bonuses of PvP Sets isn't outsdanding: they don't have the high Defense or Recharge that most non-PvPers build for. But the handful of PvP Procs which are useful outside of PvP are still very expensive. -
Quote:http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click on Mid's.I haven't really looked yet, but is there a current version of the old planner? Also, are the Map mods for badging etc still maintained and...where's the best place to go looking for updated keybind/macro info? The wiki or the guides forum?

Check out the link in my Sig for Guide to Guides and search that thread for badges for how-to guides for specific badges or for macros/binds for that info. -

Is the The Twilight Zone red, blue, or goldside? Or is it co-op?

I've found one of the biggest slowdowns from more than one instance of the game is from FSAA. Make sure you lower that.
