  1. Well they fixed Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander, so I'm in.
  2. Been thinking again about a way to have a functional shrinking and growing power-set in-game. The first thing I though about was how big could you go indoors and outdoors. I think it's important to make the distinction, at least for appearance, and not necessarily for the effectiveness of the set. What is the largest thing we've seen in an indoor mission (Rularuu excluded since he gets his own room). I would say a Zeus Titan or a Granite DE are pretty big and a good limit to the size one should be able to grow indoors. Now out-doors (or instanced out-door missions), gives growth a limit of a Kronos Titan or even the Crystal Titan. How small is small enough? The smallest thing in-game (other than the roaches in the sewers) as the clockwork gears. These little guys are super-small, but can still be fully rendered and I think this should be the limit of a shrinking ability.

    On to the power itself.

This set should be a be a balance between single-target attack ability and large AoE attacks, as well as good defense and good resistance. At your standard size, this melee set is something of a bridge between a tank and a scrapper, or a better brute without the rage. As you grow, you begin to take on the form of a tank, with slower but heavier attacks that have a greater and greater chance for AoE and cone effects as you get to maximum height. As you get larger, you also become easier to hit, but your mass gives you greater resistance to damage as well as a large-area taunt. As you shrink, you get an opposite effect. The smaller you get, you lean more toward an effective scrapper, giving you faster single target attacks, even though your damage (numbers) don't decrease from standard, you hit much faster. being smaller also means you're harder to hit meaning a higher defense, the smaller you are, as well as a good -perception at smallest size.

    So what's the catch?

The bigger or smaller you go is very taxing and can cost significant amount of endurance to maintain.

I see the set as an Epic Archetype give you the option to branch into either shrinking or growing or some aspects of both (think tri-form Kheldian).
  3. 71% of our planet is ignored as a location in-game. And a plague on the first one to quote BaBs on this.
  4. From what I gather, the squad gave Rularuu a multiple personality disorder and used the Shard as a place where his personality conflicts wouldn't harm the rest of the universe.

Im with Xanathos on this. There are a lot of tangents when it comes to costumes that are associated with the traditional "western" superhero.
  6. So far (level 10), I like the set, but I think the melee range needs to be extended a bit. I seem to do more handle-bashing that anything else.
  7. Havent run the trial yet, but I like the idea of having to avoid killing civilians. For years this game has made us to used to our "invincible npc's". The idea that a loose blast could be fatal is a great dynamic and I hope we see it elsewhere. Perhaps if this mechanic has showed up in a few standard missions first, people would be more used to it in the trials.
  8. This is an idea who's time has come. Every character in every comic starts their career within the category of their origin. Dr. Strange didn't do crossovers until he was well established in the realm of magic, or The Fantastic Four the areas of science even before Doom started leaning more on magic. There is something to be said becoming established in your area of expertise.

(Side note: Franklin Richards was considered to be the end-goal of the Celestial manipulation of human genetics.)

So yes, the Celestials are responsible for mutantkind in the Marvel Universe, and they intended it to happen, but that doesn't mean that they're going to go "Awwww, it's our mutant great-great-great(repeat for a while)-grandkids! (sorta) Let's help them out!" They are just as likely to ignore them and do whatever they were going to do regardless of whatever the various X-teams want.

Very well said. This is also the reason why Earth is so popular with invaders and world destroyers. Apparently humans are the best samples of Celestial manipulations.
  10. It looks to me like Sinister is setting himself up to be Marvel's version of our favorite Prussian Prince of Automatons.

    I can see some similarities.
  11. "This is why a certain super guy can be on the same "team" as a guy who dresses like a bat."

This is a bit of a red herring. Batman uses trick to achieve the same goals that Superman accomplishes with brute force.

  13. Wow! You folks are getting wrapped around the axle with the "bright colors" thing.
  14. Ya know, for a group called the "Sky Raiders" it seems odd that they have bases on land and underwater, but not actually in the sky.
  15. I imagine most super strong characters first learn how to regain their fine motor skills. It could also be that they have an instinctive human-level threshold that the know that they exceed when operating at super human levels.
  16. I don't worry about the sorry telling. I do worry about the budget. Super strength, invulnerability, and flight are expensive powers for television.

    Comixology

I got it when Marvel jumped on board. Had to updated my account at Marvel to download comics though.
  18. It's been suggested before, but it would be nice to have Werewolves instead of Warwolves and Vampires instead of Vampyri?
  19. I have long thrown down the gauntlet to any other MMO out there to draw me away from here and after seven years, none have met the challenge.
  20. If you think about it, if there are 10,000 Earth-like planets in our local galactic neighborhood, there are probably 1000 or so with life, maybe 50 with intelligent life, and possible three or four with technology on par with ours and an off chance of one with more advanced than ours, and random odds of a percentage point of one with significantly more advanced technology than ours.
  21. I like it. I imagine if this was the "movie version" it would go into the traditional black-and-red when active, kinda like a stealth-mode.
  22. I don't think the question should be if alien races exist, but if they have the technology to come here.
  23. An AoE Placate. Give it an animation like dropping a smoke bomb. It would solve the entire issue of surviving the initial strike, while setting the stage for a team follow-through.
