What to Expect from Marvel's Jessica Jones TV Show

This show would really need to be on Showtime or HBO to have a chance to be decent...

Wow. On ABC? Her past is pretty dark; I'm guessing that they would either heavily editorialize it, or just never show it.

While the background of Jessica Jones is interesting, she's been kind of a bland player in recent times. I sometime wonder if she was brought into the fold just to antagonize Luke Cage. It may just be me, but every issue appears to have her either worrying about the baby or trying to convince Luke to retire. I can understand the sentiments behind both, but it seems like it's emphasized on a far too regular basis.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Because comic writers don't know how to handle relationships between adults.

To be fair, neither do most adults.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

I don't worry about the sorry telling. I do worry about the budget. Super strength, invulnerability, and flight are expensive powers for television.

Generally because Bendis is too busy not writing the rest of the Avengers properly to be able to not write proper interplay between two of his pet characters.

Snark aside, i dug Alias and think it would work well as a TV show. I just hope they keep any other references to the rest of the Marvel universe to a minimum.

Agreed on both. I kind of disliked how Marvel tried to hammer in both the Sentry and Jessica Jones into prior continuity; it's the Star Wars prequels all over again. You have to wonder, does everybody know everybody in this world? According to the writers, yes, yes they do.

Yup. I liked the characters on No Ordinary Family, particularly Chiklis, but the FX were sorely lacking.

Alphas wisely doesn't use anything that can't be done with a fairly built and fearless actor (and a good props department) and a half-decent After Effects cutter with a Bullet Time plugin.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

But the FX were 10x better, at least more, than Heroes. At least superpower fights didn't occur only in the mind or behind close doors.

Give it a break already.

Do you realize how ridiculously expensive it would have been having the super fight that you wanted between Peter and Sylar.

Also...having it behind closed doors was the best way to it...even if you don't consider budget. I mean seriously...who would actually win that fight...and how?

Actually showing it and having the definite outcome would have watered one of the characters down in one way or the other.
