I gotta say that being a real or virtual parental figure to Carl is starting to look like a guarantee that he'll be the one to put you down.

Maybe that'll be how the show ends: Carl putting down Zombie Rick.

Well, they went for Crazy Rick a bit early, but kinda makes sense. He must have a bit o' berserker in him.

I didn't think they actually killed Carol, but it looks like they did. Thought they only found her hat and not her body.

Daryl is surprisingly good with teh babeh. Wouldn't have though that.

I get the feeling there's more to Daryl than what we've seen,

Previews gave some hints that Carol might still be alive. And the Talking Dead confirmed that Lori became a walkers "Last meal".
And NOT looking forward to the Merle/Darryl family reunion.

Yeah, the description from the producer about that was gross and Chris Hardwick's reaction to it was hilarious.

I gotta say, this season beats the hell out of last season... and we're only halfway through!

We need more of Michonne slicing through waves of walkers, though.

Okay, Rick is going a little gonzo there, but its about damn time someone got around to cleaning out those hallways. That's one of the things that's been driving me crazy. I get that they cleared out their cell block, but how on earth do you eat, live, or sleep comfortably in that place knowing there are other walkers all over inside? You don't know the layout, you don't know what doors and gates could be open or sealed.

The first thing I'd have done after securing your safe house is to get a blueprint or schematic of the prison layout, and then methodically go through the entire prison and wipe out anything that is still shambling. Yeah, its a lot of "killing" and a lot of work and a lot of cleanup, but it is the only way I'd ever get a good night's sleep under that roof. So good on you Rick! Now go finish the damn job!

Um, just how can one Walker manage to eat an entire adult body-- bones and all-- by itself?

By not caring if the "food" pushes itself all the way through? There's no sensation of "full" to them.

Then show a leg or arm sticking out of that stomach.

They aren't snakes. They don't swallow their food whole...

They also haven't shown the ability to break bones in half either.

I'd say that trying to stuff 150 pounds or so of meat and bone into the stomach of something of a similar mass would result in much more than a distended stomach.

Why wouldn't they be able to snap one of the smaller bones? When you don't have the limiters of your mind telling you you can't.

That's the thing about the stomach...it doesn't just stay in there. They can literally eat themselves to the point of it just...conveyor belting through. He could be hiding...stuff...in his pant legs. Yes, it's quite disgusting, but one of those things about zombies.

On a side note I'm glad they've finally started showing the darker side of woodbury with the Zombie daughter & the gladiator battles And yay...we ge to meet Crazy Rick sooner than I'd thought.

They seem to really be running far ahead in some story aspects and totally blowing or merging others from the comic. Lori did not die in childbirth but was killed with the baby on the assault on the Prison by Woodbury. With the birth they are in the precarious position of (possibly) killing an infant...but then there are huge chunks of the comics stories missing from the show - Rick does not do the telephone thing until way later in the books, Carl killed Shayne not Rick, The old man in the RV did not die so early....I like that they do that, but I have to sit there with my mouth shut or my GF will scream at me.."what do you mean he is not supposed to die yet..." lol.

It wasn't necessarily just the one zombie who ate Lori. As we have seen before sometimes zombies will give up munching on a corpse and wander off after hearing some sound. It's probably just that one zombie stuck around eating till it couldn't eat any more.

Or alternatively it ate till it was full and couldn't move and after that point other zombies showed up and finished off the leftovers then wandered off.

Very true. Maybe one of them heard Rick pretending to be a lumberjack and wandered off after him.

I loved how they shot the Glenn/Rick confrontation scene in such away to make Rick appear as walker-like as possible - mindlessly savage and covered in blood and gore.

Bravo to Glen Mazarra for some excellent directing this episode.

I am just curious about why the walkers don't mind eating dead flesh this season, but last season it was specifically pointed out that they only go for living flesh.

I think they've always eaten fresh flesh (say that 5 times fast) from the recently dead, just not after a couple days. I think they got to Lori immediately. Maybe it's the flesh of someone who hasn't reanimated. Another explanation is that whoever said they only eat living flesh was simply wrong.

It's probably a combination of the fact the body is still warm and that it doesn't smell like them, which is a pretty strong indicator given Michonne's discovery.

I was waiting for someone to figure out that trick again, they haven't used it since early season 1...never mind the logic on how does a zombie smell with a rotting nose etc.. . As for the flesh IIRC as far as the comic was concerned it just had to be "Fresh" not necessarily alive

They also seem to be setting up all the players for the mid-season finale, should be fun, love this season sofar

Also...Andrea is just bugging the hell out of me, I hate comparing her to the comic version but there she was so strong of a character(she had shacked up with dale by this point, not the Govenor, she was the teams sharpshooter etc...) the TV version of her just seems so weak & whiny in comparison.

Andrea is turning into another Dale. Preaching instead of discussing. Whining about things she doesn't like. And being as clueless as Clouseau. At this point I'm hoping she gets turned into zombie chow too.
