Top 10 life ruining movies
Hate when they do that crap of spacing it out over multiple pages when there's only a paragraph of actual text.

Uh, it was written in 2007, before all of the Twilight dreck.
Meh. The guys prejudices are showing. He's gonna make disparaging remarks about Star Wars but not Star Trek? They go hand in hand. And nothing about Twilight? C'mon that one is the biggest offender of them all.

Just a little bit out of date. Now, nearly 5 years later, such a list should include Twilight and Marvel Super Heroes/Batman.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)
Guide Links: Earth/Rad Guide, Illusion/Rad Guide, Electric Control
Hmm, maybe Rocky Horror Picture Show? I know a few people who definitely had life changing experiences due to that one.
Or certain Monty Python films like Holy Grail. Had some college buddies who would give up social nights to watch it again ... every. single. night.
The Bacon Compels You.
It's a list about movies though. Most Star Trek geekdom stems from the various TV series, not so much the movies.

I once worked with a kid who could literally quote that entire movie word for word..

I would go up to him and just start saying some random sentence from the movie that I happened to remember. He'd then start spouting off the rest of the scene's dialogue until someone came along and shut him up lol...
I would add Eurotrip to the list. Every so often that Scotty Doesn't Know song pops into my head. I think I'll be remembering that song till the day I die...

I respectfully disagree

The 6 Star Trek movies made from '79 to '91 gave the IP new life and convinced the people in charge that there was still lots of money to be made off of spinoff tv shows that didn't show up until 1994.
They count.
The OP's just jealous that Star Trek didn't have Leia in a slave girl bikini which got more female nerds laid than any star trek mini skirt ever did.
Quote:
Huh? Female nerds don't need to dress up to get laid. Female nerds could dress as an Ewok and get laid. Heck, female nerds could dress up as the forest moon of Endor and get laid. There's only one thing a girl needs to have to get laid, it begins with N and rhymes with "wookie".

Of course, for those who want to expand their horizon, there's always Seven of Nine. Or the Borg Queen.
(Gawd, I would totally do the Borg Queen... except for all those nanoprobes.)

Not back then when the movies were first released. We've come a long way over the years. I know I grew up thru it.

Seven of Nine has the right amount of cybernetic implants. The Borg Queen being just a head and spine makes even touching her too creepy. It is doubtful that she even has the right equipment for there to be any point.
The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

Eh, the article was self-congratulatory and somewhat masturbatory. This was about as funny as gargling sand.

Jesus Christ, did Venture write that thing? Reading it made me want to smack the author just about as much as every time I read one of V's MA reviews.

A humorous read if nothing else.
