Would you pay $19.99 a month to keep the game going ???

Second, everyone is on board now, because doom is approaching - if NCSoft had said, prior to any of this happening, that they were raising the sub to $19.99, the forums would have exploded.
Double truth.

As for $20/mo sub fees, I would definitely pay an extra $5 on my primary account, but my secondary account has already been down since June for monetary reasons. (I was planning to renew as soon as I got a full time job again, though.)

I would pay with no Hesitation. 2 Accounts, 20$ each, for me and my wife. Never Mind if she's playing or take a Break.

Considering that I've kept two accounts open AND dropped enough on the market to keep another five open, I'd say the answer is "HELL YEAH!"

Granted, this wouldn't necessarily be a fiscal reality for a lot of current paying players. But still. Unfortunately the $15 price point is pretty standard across the industry and bumping it, especially on an older game, is bound to be a throat cutting maneuver.

in response to both of you:

yeah the price raise would have REALLY made people mad. the existence of the market and power sets that you have to purchase already have their daily rants. (i personally liked them 'cause we were getting more profit, but i also haven't had any financial trouble) (i see them more as a privilege) anyway, personal thoughts aside

tho... i think that would've been taken care of if they had went COH IS GOING TO SHUT DOWN BECAUSE IT'S NOT MAKING ENOUGH MONEY, WE HAVE TO RAISE THE PRICE OR ELSE WE HAVE TO LAY OFF THE ENTIRE STUDIO THIS IS A DESPERATE MEASURE and make it very, very obvious how desperate it was and how it wasn't "greedy corporate bs" (which is how people who rant daily about market are like) and this goes with the whole Panic thing that causes people to be amiable to the idea

i mean, if the game shut down cause not enough people were paying, that'd be a little more understandable than Hey guys money things happening bye game there's no chance to save it cause we did it already

Absolutely. Without a second's hesitation... And I'm pretty sure FCM would say the same, so that would be two accounts right there.

Heck, I was rapidly running out of character slots on my home server, and was seriously considering VIPing my secondary account when I finally did hit that limit, just so I could stay with the Liberty crew and still build new alts.

Of course. If subscriber payments had anything to do with this, I would have wished for them to ask us for exactly this, instead of just pulling the plug. I'm sure that many, many players would have upgraded their subscription to "fan mode", or whatever it would have been called.

I figure I've already put about $2000 or so into this game...

absolutely. I would probably go to $25 with no additional development in game. I would go to $45 if the game was getting releases at even a slower pace than pre-freedom.

Before all this had been announced my wife and I were commenting that we'd loved to have seen a payment option where there was a tier above the 14.99 VIP status that was 19.99 / month and it unlocked all costume and aura items on the market automatically.

Other things like additional character slots, enhancment trays, some power sets etc could still stay extra but it would be worth it to us to pay the extra $5.00 a month just so we knew we had all the costume options available to us.

I would - but I get the feeling that NCSoft simply doesn't want the game anymore - they could have scrapped the secret project, reduced the dev team, merged the servers, even gone into maintenance mode of they wanted to.

Although I would like to say yes, I cannot justify that the game is worth it to me.

I would happily pay £5 per month, or whatever it equates to in Dollars, for full access to VIP. That's what it is worth to me. Since going F2P Forever (Korean version of forever) I have bought Paragon Points and it has sufficed nicely.

Having said that I have also made it known that I can pledge £1k to enable the game to keep going on a crowd funded take over. (subject to terms)

I would pay 30
However, I did like Jester's idea of the increased fee including the new powersets instead of having to use points for those.

Was paying 5 accounts !

To my family this is a cheap way of having fun together. Each Saturday we play 3-4 hrs.

I would gladly pay 5 accounts 1 year in front !

Seconded!
I have maintained two accounts since Launch date, for my wife and I. As our kids have grown old enough we have also obtained accounts for them. We have had 4 VIP accounts active since just before Freedom went live, and we have been contemplating a 5th as our youngest is nearly old enough to start playing.

Even with no new content, and just a maintenance of the current service, I would gladly commit to 5 accounts at $19.99 per month for the next year if it meant my family and I could continue to enjoy this game.

Half the reason my kids learned to read was so they could choose mission arcs for themselves!

Hear us, NCSoft!

yes not a problem already was paying for 5 Accounts with an extra $100 per month at the paragon market for each account. those enhancements were nice to get on every alt and all the costumes , storage , etc. loved it all.

I have to agree with GG's logic here as well. One would think that if something as simple as a server merge, or even a price hike was of interest to NCSoft, then they would have done so. Even a 12 month 'sunset' period and a gradual extension into i24 might have made sense. The move smacks of ulterior motives, which alas, would suggest that they will not be remotely interested in sound economic thinking.

That's a bit much... but I would go for the $19.99. Maybe even $24.99.
