Save COH petition is at 9,900! Let's keep this going!

I'm signature 9,900, just about. I don't know if the petition will do any good, but the rest of the community even got this jaded gamer in on the action. In the least, 10,000 signatures over the course of three days is enough to give NC Soft some bad publicity. Let's stick it to them! Keep on signing the petition everyone! Remember to keep on signing even if we reach our target. Let's show 'em what we're made of!

10000!

Edited to add: 10K subs per month, assuming each signer is willing to pony up the scratch, should be enough to make a publisher at least think about the business prospects.

You see now you bastards at NC Soft? There are even more people that have yet to sign the petition. It only took three days. Look at what you did! I hope all of you executives at NC Soft are rethinking what you did.

Keep it up everyone! We need to get every player's signature on the petition. Let's see how far we can go and stick it to the idiots in charge at NC Soft!

This petition is not just for the players, it is also to prevent our beloved developers at Paragon Studios to go jobless in a contracting economy. This is also for every one of you developers who have put so much blood, sweat, and now tears into such an amazing video game that has become more than just your average MMO!

How many of them were duplicate signings?

Doom.

Yep.

This is really doom.

It's already at 10,050!

And many other game forums like Blizzard's official Diablo III and World of Warcraft boards, Guild Wars 2 Guru, and Aion's official forums are all expressing their disgust at NCSoft and this whole CoH closure.

And has anyone seen massively.com? The front page keeps getting dotted with CoH announcements and memoirs, and those threads are long and unified as well!

Looks like it's NCSoft against the western world here.

That's the problem with change.org and online petitions, they are so easy to dupe, that they carry less weight. It also doesn't help that the moment you sign one petition change.org throws at you like 5 'just one click here to sign this other one.'

They still carry some weight, though. The ratio just works differently.

I'm not sure about the math, but I'm sure someone somewhere has calculated how it works. Say 1000 internet signatures equals 400 paper ones, or something.

Regardless, 10k is impressive.

So really, we need 40,000.

Well what're you waiting for? Sign the thing!

Yeah, it is. Sorta. I mean, I always thought CoH had about 100k subscribers... so we've netted, say, 4% of the total in the petition.

Sorry I'm the resident dickbag these days, but all this optimism hurts my soul.

Actually, if you sign in with face book you CANNOT resign the petition, they are working on cutting down on the duplicates. Regardless the petition and the news needs to be in more social media (not just here).

Only signed it once (I don't duplicate). Though I know a few family members who will likely sign it.

But also, I was already subbing, so I'd keep on subbing.

I'd even switch back to the once a month sub to give them a few extra dollars if needed. I only switched to the 3 month deal and never switched back because I had a moment of "Hmmm...if I don't pay this much now, I may not be able to log in next month" moments.

So after almost 8 years (been playing since i3 WinterLord Event) I stayed mostly month to month knowing I'd play longer

Even when I took a break for 8 months, logged in once a month for a couple of minutes, I kept paying the sub Which worked out great for when the ViP rewards started though ^_^

So whoever keeps CoH running, if someone does, you have my money!

Generally, it actually works out that longer sub periods are better for the companies, that's why they offer a discount on them (because even with the discount they're better). They get all the money up front (so there's no questions about it), which means they can invest it sooner, and there's a longer period before they know you might stop giving them money.

Plus, it's good for charts to say X% is really dedicated! Win-win for everyone involved (except the credit card companies, since they usually make money for every transaction).

Then I'd switch to the year sub!

It's at 10,441 right now.

I have been spreading the word on other gaming forums, and more importantly, adding that link. If nothing else, it shows Paragon Studios how much gamers at large care (if they are told!), and it also shows potential professional MMO publishers that this is a game worth trying to buy!

If anyone else plays other games, please take a few minutes to spread the word on their forums as well. The news outlet idea is an awesome one, too! And be sure to include that link. Every little signature helps.
