Chances? Probably slim to none... mentioned, asked for, begged for by everyone.
Considering my name turned gold, I'd guess the chance is good.
On the other hand, this account didn't turn VIP. Yet?
I guess it was a momentary error. I'm back to white. Don't know how this happened. Pity I logged out to test other accounts. Would have been nice to post as General_CoH on VIP only forums instead of my current newish VIP account.
I wonder if the devs can issue VIP codes. That would be a good start.
They don't have access to the game development anymore, and account status wasn't handled by them, in any case.

Meh, not a great way to end a game, but not Paragon's fault. I wish they left time cards valid still, in the least, so at least those of us really dedicated could still purchase the last few months of VIP to end the game.

I wish. It would be nice to actually play the game in the last couple months. Currently I am stuck with no ability to use IOs and really don't feel like investing the time into a new character in the last days.
You can always use one of your character's spare builds and use regular SOs and HOs. You wont be uber without your Incarnate and IO stuff but you can still play.
This is true, but to be honest: if a char was incarnated (and IOed) then it feels a little lame without it ^^
Also as an often-VIP i was used to have access to the latest stories... as a non-VIP, i do not have this.
(I still do have some Paragon points left, so if there is no VIP - Possibility i will use them for access to the Pandoras-Box missions)
So is there a confirmation that gametime cards will work?
Overall, very annoyed how NC handled this. Just dropping the bomb on a random day with no forewarning at all.
When SOE found out SWG had to be closed, they worked their hearts out for the final months to get something cool to the players, and let them see what the future was intended to be.
But this... who knows how many would've bought VIP again even just for 2 months? Give the devs time to at least give the game a proper sendoff. Sheesh.

I would love to be VIP. I hadn't played in a while (stuff happens) and when I came back, my solo SG had base upkeep due. Now I'm stuck possibly never getting back in since I can't go VIP, and only VIPs can pay rent...

There are still a lot of VIP players out there, and you only need one to spare you 5 minutes to be invited to the SG, pay rent, then leave. I found someone willing to help me out in our global channels within just a few minutes.
I would love to be VIP also though. Running through the incarnate content (never did do Magisterium/Hybrid stuff) and the story arcs that I never got to would be a good way to end my time here.
I guess I'm fortunate to be Tier 9 (blew quite a bit of money when Freedom came out, and still have > 6k points left from that) so I still have inventions and all the other goodies at least. Lots of people who behaved more sanely at Freedom release will be stuck in the same boat as HelinCarnate.

At the end, each server's Galactic Civil War points (how one side was doing in the Galactic Civil War) were added up and a winner of the Civil War was declared on each server. They had big parties in all the big cities with starfighters flying overhead, fireworks, random npcs congratulating the Rebels (we won on all but two servers) and capital ships from the winning side parked over major cities. And they were targetable, so players could team up and attack Star Destroyers and Nebulon-B frigates.
A comparable ending for this would be for Nemesis to lead an attack on Atlas and get defeated finally by the Phalanx, or Rularuu to enter our world and attack. And a bunch of Kronos Titans appearing all over Peregrine. Just thinking up random ideas tbh.

Oh and lets not forget the Rikti, Zombies, Snowmen, Random Giant Monsters all of em targeted on an area that they believe has the only way to survive the upcoming Apocalypse.

So, I went to order 2 copies of Going Rogue. I had to call into Amazon because this was the first time I was trying to order more than one item and couldn't find a way to determine how many copies of something a vendor has in stock. So while the guy is talking to me, he asks me to add it to my cart so he could check on availability. And then immediately his voice changed and I thought he was going to tell me that my account was hacked, or they were out of copies.
As it turned out, the change in his tone was the sound of a CSR being transformed into an excited child. "Wow, this looks so cool, what is it?!" I was then stuck trying to give him the full story of everything that was going on in less time that it would take for a supervisor to get mad at him.

I'm very annoyed that they dropped the bomb like this, in the middle of my holidays.
Hi all.
Sadly i was in a hibernate waiting for i24, so i was not VIP when the hammer hits.
I read in the forum that there are possible ways to upgrade to VIP with game time codes or other City of heroes codes. Sadly i only have a ton of Paragon points, but no such things at the moment.
So, to all who may now:
Is there any chance NCSOFT may be generous enough to switch all non-VIP to VIP for the Rest of the Live of the game?
