Redname, dont read this =P

So after everything that has gone on, CoH is closing etc etc, you MUST have some dirty secrets for us!

I mean anything, stuff we never would of found out, cool, weird, interesting or just damn boring, doesn't bother me.

Surely there are several things you've wanted to say over the years but couldn't for X and X reason.

Perhaps now you can?

I dont expect a response, but maybe a redname will read this, and just before the forums shut down they can [Reveal] all.

So everyone throw a question that you've always wondered in this thread, and we will see if it leads anywhere.

My question is; did you devs play the game on alternate private accounts? Or was you genuinely not playing it as it was your life for so many years?

My question is what happened to the "sooper sekrit" other project at Paragon that some people moved on to and what was it ?

Is anybody allowed to talk now (or are they going to do so anyway) ?

I'd like to know what was planned for the future - specifically in terms of the lore and unannounced goodies such as costumes and powers.

I'd love to know too but we may never find out what that project was now. If anyone there wants a new job after this, they probably don't want their resume saying "broke the NDA bigtime when they got laid off".

Most of that I dont know or cant say. Lore on the other hand. I believe Positron and the other writers are going to do a AMA (ask me anything) lore edition. Positron posted that somewhere in all these threads.

I hope that all of you at Paragon are able to recover from the shut down as quickly as possible. I was a victim of an over-night shut down several years back when "Pay less Cash-ways" was shut down. Even though I have hardly ever posted to the forums, I have been a player for over 6yrs. In all that time, I never came across another MMO that even came close to the community here on CoH. Not only was this a great game because all the actual player interacts, but the interactions & responses from the folks at Paragon. There has got to be some company out there that would buy..."us" The character generator/designer for toons was one of the 1st hooks for me, NOTHING else comes close, but its the whole CoH community that has kept me striving on to deeds of glory ....or... villainous acts of deceit. I know it has already6 been said ....BUT THANK YOU for a truly great 6yrs.....

BT, you've been an awesome friend IRL as well as in-game all these years. I'm glad that you got to live out a dream. I'm also glad I tried to push you to applying when you said, "I don't think they'd hire me."

I'm not all that religious, but I pray that the best in life finds you and you can continue your path in the MMO industry.

...even though you never fillled my pockets with inf. or PL's >: (

Yeah, but it sometimes comes out, they tell somebody and the third party makes an "I have on good authority it was MLP/DBZ deathmatch" or whatever post so nobody can trace it.

I'd like to come out and say that I was never a Cryptic/Paragon/NCSoft employee, despite guesses and accusations as such. Also, no employee ever fed me inside info... though a few times they were guilty of letting on more than they should when corresponding with me, which was only a handful of times.

And I never really bugged their offices.

Or did I?

Confession: I did work with the Paragon team on a game feature, like for-realsies, just before the launch of Going Rogue. That's why I'm listed in the game credits in that edition. But I was never an employee of Paragon Studios or Cryptic, I never had a red name, and I was never issued my own neuralizer.

Yes:

1. Matt Miller (Positron) believes 7.2 is approximately ten.

2. Matt Stults (Television) had to be given a red name at gunpoint.

3. Floyd Grubb (Castle) didn't actually like all the PvP changes. He didn't make them all. He won't say who did what, and neither will I.

4. Christopher Bruce (BaB) had a problem with honesty. He has too much of it.

5. CW Bennet (pohsyb) snuck Elusivity in the game when none of the data people really wanted to use it. It sat there for over a year before it was used in PvP.

6. Andy Belford (Zwillinger) keeps saying he's Asian, and people keep thinking he means Martian.

And all of the devs shared entirely way too much of their time and thoughts with me, and probably lied about it on their timesheets. For that I will always be grateful.

We relied on your insight a great deal, AV. I miss our email conversations. Sorry I couldn't always share everything, nor always agree, but I always took you seriously.

I hope I got the chance to meet you at one of the Pummits or the 2010 Bay Area M&G.

Even if I didn't meet you, thank you for your work on the game we both loved.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Bah. Now I'm going to have to start scouring that credits page to figure it out.

There were many ways to dupe IO's at certain points. About 3 years ago crashing a certain mission in AE duped any IO's you had at the time sitting in your tray. Also while the free transfers were out me and 4 other friends were able to exploit this by duping entire toons.

Wow! I was in the old Kitties on the Prowl SG with you. :P

I was Kintaro aka Fayline Grylore.
I was Kimura Hanasaki.

I was... a pain in the butt, but I really did enjoy the time we had played together. There has been times I have thought back to you and the group, and I can say I missed you guys.

Never knew you worked for the company. For that... I shall envy you. I wanted to work with the company too in due time. I just finished up school for it, and was working to get into the video game industry. It has been slow and hard as Arizona really doesn't have a video game industry much.

Anyways. Wanted to say that I remember you, and yes... I have fond memories of you. We may have bickered in our time, but I thought you were an excellent player!

BT was on the team? NO WAIS!

Why does this keep surprising me? WE were the first people Paragon Studios told that they had job openings >_>

I'm sorry we didn't have enough time for me to get you to spill the beans on Project-X. It sounded like you guys were having fun on that side of the fence, and of course kept all the fun to yourselves and left me out here twisting in the wind with the rest of the riff-raff wondering if you were making a Chutes and Ladders MMO or a first-person Spy vs Spy.

Drop me an email sometimes, and my offer from the Freedom Focus group is still there if you find yourself in Hawaii, my door is always open. Oh, wait, I have an alarm system now. Don't actually try to open the door or the police will incarcerate you. My door is always available to be knocked on. I'm usually home by 6:30.

PS: I still think always hitting is not the best idea.
