Any Celebrities play CoX
I've sent a Twitter message to him, but still... the MOST IMPORTANT person that needs to hear our plea is Stan Lee. I'm serious. He's got his own production studios and mentioned in an interview that online superheroes was something that would become the new standard.
We need Stan Lee to back us! |

I tweeted Stan lee, Seth green, tara Strong, Kevin Smith, and Jason mewes today about what's going on here with our game. WIll anything come of it?Who knows. But Tara Strong seems th emost likely bet. She often retweets when requested.
I could see Conan O'Brien taking notice. He does have a history with the game. Remember that CoX contest he was a part of a few years ago?

Maybe someone could Tweet UK TV presenterJonathan Ross (Sorry no account myself, and I still struggle with Facebook). He's a rabid comic book junkie and often tweets comic book related stuff to his followers (over 2 million by all accounts).
I was just watching a Big Bang rerun tonight and remembered how Sweat Pants guy is ALWAYS wearing a CoH shirt. Somebody over there MUST have heard of this. They could have gotten away with a simple plain ole comic book shop, but they didn't. It had MANY CoX references in it. I HAVE to believe somebody on the team of that show played.

And a goatload of others. On a goatload of servers.

I know he's not an A-lister anymore, but you'd think Joaquin Phoenix could afford a better PC to play CoH in 2011... Damn thing's not even in Ultra Mode!

I cringe more at how big his windows are scaled. And the fact that he doesn't have his combat attributes up. I guess he's kind of a badass for playing without inspirations though.
cant say as he plays but i have already tried MC Chris. if others would like to try him, might get some positive momentum going.
Someone else to consider is Rooster Teeth as they are not only famous among the nerdy but they also have a history with CoH promoting Mission Architect.

There was a contest to create a Conan toon in CoH and submit it. If I remember correctly, the winning toon was on the show. I was away for work and missed the deadline. I made a 'Conan meets the Terminator' toon called "The Conanator". Still pissed I missed the deadline for submission.

Hi all,
Long time Lurker from the old EU forums here, thought I'd step out of the shadows what with the 'end of days' approaching.
Regarding Jim Butcher playing CoH. I have just set up a thread linking to the Petition and Titan Network's 'Save Paragon City' forums over on Jimbutcher.com's community forums. Don't know how often/if Jim pays attention to the posts there, but hopefully someone will be able to bring this to his attention.
Left a message on the Pinnacle Entertainment Group forums (rpg makers of Deadlands, Savage Worlds, and others) for Shane Lacy Hensley, since he worked on CoH/CoV to see if he had heard the news.
Also, didnt Top Cow do the CoH comic series ? Well, them and Blue King, maybe an email there as well.
Not to be insensitive, but I can't imagine that a bunch of Korean businessmen would give even the smallest crap about what a minor American celebrity of any sort has to say about anything.
Likewise, I know from other contacts in my personal life that anyone who has an income level that is far above what most people would consider to be average is bombarded constantly with solicitations for donations. This just does not seem to be a productive avenue no matter how I look at it. I want the game to continue as well, but pestering famous or semi-famous people about it isn't going to make anything better. |

There's a VG on Guardian server that's made up of some pretty famous folks. I managed to get all of the Magisterium badges with them by chance a day or two after Issue 23 went live and was invited into their Vent server for it. I had my doubt, so one of them posted up a hello to me on his official website using my ingame name and a silly nickname he said he'd use. Not going to out them here but I know the leader of the VG is a Mastermind. He hasn't been in the game but I did send him an email to see if they're planning anything.

I know we're trying everything, and we should, but frankly I think even if every man, woman and child in America. including Obama and Oprah, personally wrote NCSoft's CEO a letter, they wouldn't give a flip. To me, the only way anything happens is to present them with a more-than-fair offer, then when they turn it down we sue their arses. Not that I think even that would work, but at least it has a chance of getting a judge to buy into it.
Personally I think the wisest thing that can be done right now isn't pestering celebrities, but news outlets like Kotaku and Joystiq to run news about the movement to save the game. I look on Google News for City of Heroes and all I can find is news about it being shut down. There isn't a single site running a story about the movement to save the game even though there is a petition with what, nearly (more than?) 10,000 signatures now?
