Brutiful Game

I have recently been trying to play things besides Brutes. I tried once before, when the sides were still split. Ended up back on Brutes. Feeling I was stuck in a rut I have diligently worked over the last year trying Tanks, Blasters, Scrappers, a few lowbie doms, more blasters, more tanks. I have 50'd many, incarnated a few, and gotten a lot into mid 30s after a few days TF and testing. I have found out one indisputable fact. I love running Brutes more than anything else.

Thanks to the Devs for writing this Archetype into the game. It is truly a Brutiful thang.

eeeeewwww Meelee.

i'm normally a 'troller. i have several doms, mm's, defs, blasters, corrs, scrappers, and an epic AT or two. a few 50's, a few incanaranarerated... but i'll always like controllers best. [and with what i hear whispers of coming, i'll love them even more.] Storm Summoning is my favorite powerset.

today i rolled a tank. i dont like meelee. i have one at 50 already but he's been sitting for years, so i figured i'd give meelee a try again. i was told i shoulda rolled a brute for comparable survivability but more dmg. meh

it is a beautiful game! i need more slots.

Masterminds and Peacebringers are two of my favorites, actually.

Also Controllers and Warshades.

I love Stalkers. And I love (ranged) Masterminds. Brutes are.. eh.

Doom.

Yep.

This is really doom.

And I play anything except ranged damage ATs and Tankers, with a preference for Scrappers and Controllers.

Just finished accolading and IOing my Street Justice/Fiery Aura Brute, tons of fun and soooooo much damage. If Brutes could generate fury while running or travelling they would be almost perfect. >.>

My 50s were in order:

emp/dark defender
ice/kin controller
fire/fire tank
dualblades/wp scrapper
psi/mind blaster
kin/electric brute

I had a lot of fun on all of them, but I have to say that the Brute leveled quickest, and was without a doubt the 'easy button' of the bunch. Working on a plant/rad something, fire scrapper, and others, but my next 50 is likely to be a water/time defender.

But brutes are very, very fun to play. I think probably the most enjoyable experiences just running around hitting things. They're really what tanks should have been in the first place.

MMs, Doms, 'Trollers, Scrappers, Tanks. Favs.

But then came brutes. OH YES. BROOOOOOT!!!!

Love 'em. Love 'em lots.

/Although this certain ONE Blaster is kinda fun... Water/Ice.
//I really need to get my one Stalker leveled up, because with a name like Jerry the Deathclown, it just screams to be 50 one day...

I'd never got a Brute to 50, I fixed that a couple of months ago.
She's now 50 (+2) and an absolute joy to play. The 40s whizzed by in an orgy of destruction.

I love playing a Brute, and love teaming with them.

Yay for Brutes! Your puny weapons only make them stronger!

Lies. Masterminds are some of the most controlled chaos fun you can find anywhere.

Fire/Fire Blaster. Nyrana Damodred on Pinnacle (long unsubbed sadly) made me a believer and the Blaster changes have turned it into a pure, blazing engine of carnage.

Sweet, sweet fire.

Aye. I played all 14 ATs to 50. PBs were the most painful and I did that back in the old school days where Qs and Vs were 2 shot kills. Worse, their attack did KB and by the time you stood up, they got off a 2nd shot and you were dead.

Devs hate Masterminds.

H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster

I'm not a fan of Brutes. I find them a bit too squishy and don't care much for the quest for Fury.

One of these days, I'm going to need to write up the Tao of Fury. Any Brute, even at level 1, should be able to get to 50% Fury in a few seconds. A level 50, well-slotted Brute can go from 0 to 80% Fury before they land three punches.

And if all else fails, there's that power that lets you go from 0 to Full Fury in a single click.
