Eureka Series Finale Tonight

Eureka was one of the last good shows left on SyFy (along with Warehouse 13 & Alphas), I’m sorry to see it go.

Who else has been watching this season?

Here are a few pics of the cast over the years.

I've been waiting for the series to end to catch up on this last bit. Watch it all in one big go. Shame that it's ending, but I'd rather have it go out strong than to fade away into horribleness.

Also, Amazon is having a special on the individual season sets for the entire series. Somewhat like the collection for SG-1, but not in that godawful packaging. Link.

I hope they finally let Fargo keep a girlfriend. Poor guy is the show's relationship butt-monkey.

Goodbye, I guess.

they need to hurry up and add the new episodes to netflix

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

I admit, I cried ... once. Lots of returning guests and a surprising, or not, cameo. I liked the ending (very last scene). Somehow I expected that.

Yeah, I liked it too. It's a good bookend for the series.

Apparently a new series is coming to Space (Canadian version of Syfy) called The Almighty Johnsons to replace Eureka. Basically it is about a modern family of Norse gods and the son finds out he is a god. Could be an adequate successor to Eureka's timeslot or a massive failure.

Send it down here. I promise it'll be a massive failure regardless of how good it is.

It's a Kiwi series, on it's 2nd season down there. We're getting Warehouse 13 and Alphas and Lost Girl is getting bumped to Fridays.

how much do you want to bet that Alphas and Warehouse aren't going last much longer?

Ok on the very last scene when they are driving out of Eureka and she sees the other car with her and her dad in it I heard what she said, "Dad did you see that?" but I didn't hear what Sheriff Carter said, something with the word tomorrow in it, did anyone catch what he said?

Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!

As I recall it was just "We'll deal with that tomorrow..."

Yeah, he said 'We'll deal with that tomorrow" which was just a way for him to dismiss the situation so it didn't feel unresolved. I saw one post on a another forum from someone that didn't get that it was just a callback to the series premiere who thought it was a setup for the series to continue.

Eureka was one of those that was on my DVR season pass. I shan't mourn its passing but I'll miss it. Something light and breezy with a fun cast, I especially enjoyed the addition of Wil Wheaton. I hope this is a springboard to more work for him.

Spoiler:

Baltar's accent always annoyed me. He's a fine actor and I'm sure he can do a middle American accent just fine, but when he spoke it always sounded like he was trying to sound like a man from the 40s, not from any geographical region. Just nit-picking, not nerd-raging.

That was an awesome episode, a perfect end to the series.

It was a good episode, and I loved [Redacted]'s lil cameo at the begining, but I dunno... I can't help but feel like it wrapped up a little bit too neatly.

It was really kind of fairytale happy ending, where I guess I feel something a bit more bittersweet would have been better.

Interesting. That was Grant Imahara from Mythbusters that I saw. I am assume that was one of his creations that was in the same scene as him.

Nice star, glad to see you picked up the fact people were avoiding saying his name.

No, EMO was in an episode last season. The one where Jack takes Kevin, Fargo, and Gr. Grant camping and they get chased by Tiny, the Titan rover.

Why would anyone care about not saying his name? Is he the TV cameo equivalent of talking about Hamlet?

More like Macb.... um...

Nah, I want to avoid the pitchforks and torches.

Yes, Macbeth, my mistake.

And sorry, I can see no spoiler information in a 2 second cameo that had no plot relevance of any kind. This isn't Willem Dafoe showing up at the end of Spiderman 2.

Actually I was happy to hear the 'spoiler' since I couldn't place the guy even though he was familiar.

As to the series itself, I will say I found the previous stories leading up to the finale a bit weak. They weren't completely bad, but certainly could have been better. The finale itself was fine. As others have said, good to see the show go out well rather than limp away (like SG-1 for example).

Too many alts to list.
