Eureka Series Finale Tonight

If Grant appeared on a previous episode, then it could be a spoiler depending on the character. However, a few second cameo is not a spoiler.

This is how TV series should end. I hate it when the story just ends on a cliffhanger or important plot points are resolved. It is like reading a book and the author forgot to write the last few chapters. Eureka ended with most plot points resolved, but leaves room for a sequel.

Oddly enough, you can thank Syffie for that. Though they lose a billion points for cancelling Eureka, they make up a few thousand by letting them make one more episode to wrap things up. It would've sucked pretty hard if things left off at the "season finale" of last week's ep.

But yeah, stuff wrapped up nicely even if we didn't get another 22 episodes. Especially liked that we basically got to see everyone, even Nathan Stark even if it was just in weird-wormhole-flashbacky form. Plus Taggart, the kids, Beverly, Baltar.

Also loved that they didn't forget to include the drive-by sequence at the very end to really wrap everything up, completing the gag from the very first episode.

Overall, I may be sad that Eureka is gone, but I can at least be glad that it got what most shows don't - an ending.

Yeah, I loved seeing Taggart and Lojack, and Zoe again. I'd forgotten how great those characters are. I really missed the chemistry between Jack and Tag. It's too bad there wasn't more interaction between the two.

Goodbye, I guess.

The best interaction was always between Carter and Stark.

Well, that and the interactions between Carter and The Universe. A lot like Sokka and The Universe, come to think of it.

Ok so what was the gag from the first episode?

In the pilot, Zoe thought she saw a car carrying her and Carter pass them going the opposite direction as they drove into Eureka for the first time. Carter even said "High beams, jackPANCAKE." as the other car approached.

I've always expected that last scene to be in the final episode. What I like is that they didn't explain it and Jack quipped, "I'll deal with that tomorrow."

In the first episode as Jack and daughter are driving into town the car coming towards him in the rain flashes it's lights at him causing him to be blinded for a moment and the run off the road to dodge some animal getting stuck and needing vehicle repair in Eureka. Oh and his daughter glances at the car as it goes past and sees herself and her dad in the other car.

That is the first scene in the series and so for the last episode we get that scene from the future Carter's points of view.

I realize this is going to make me sound like a pathetic Eureka anorak, but actually the first scene of the series was Howard whatshisface in his basement as his tachyon accelerator goes nutty. It then cut to Jack and Zoe in the car.

I wonder if they will re-edit the scene then with carters truck and zoe's shocked look instead of her waving to herself. Just rewatched it and its near same but there are differances. One of the few times that a redo after tha fact wouldnt annoy me unduly since its a alpha and omega moment.
