Praetorian Refugees...

...may be headed our way soon.

Seeing as how we just toppled the government in Praetoria (which should not be discussed here! ), there are essentially two options for the Praetorian civilians:

1. Stay and hope that Hami doesn't get hungry.
2. Move into Primal Earth.

Now I really don't see 1 happening; they went to Praetoria in the first place to be safe from the Hamidon. So, what happens when a stream of Praetorians come into Paragon City? Will the government:

1. Welcome the refugees and find them places to live, and help them get to their feet? This would be similar to what happened in our world during the killing fields of Cambodia, when many fled from Pol Pot's tyranny.

2. We put them into a refugee camp/area, being guarded. While this might seem an extreme, we have put people in camps before where their allegiance would be in question.

2 brings to mind the movie District 9; could the Praetorians become a second class citizen in Paragon, due to our fears of what they might do?

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

I hear galaxy city has a lot of empty space, so does Boomtown

The Resistance would probably extend their Crusader Care plan to cover the refugees, as long as they had enough hospitals and explosives.

Crusader healthcare? I think I'd be better off with Doc Buzzsaw...

Or take a third option: Stay in Praetoria and hope someone kicks Hamidon's amorphous pancake.

Option 3: Go to the Shadow Shard with the other Refugees/Natives.

They've already been processed and sent to work as slaves in the Vanguard weapons factories as Lady grey turns her attention to the next world to conquer.

The sonic fences are still up, right?

Yes, but didn't Hami figure out a way around them? Just based on First Ward and the Underground trial, it seems that it was more the truce that was holding him back.

Why? Hamidon won that war. Whether it was held in check by the sonic fences or it held itself in check out of a sense of fair play, Emperor Cole put the final nail in the coffin of Praetoria when he nuked Nova Praetoria. The only thing to do now is to evacuate the refugees as a humanitarian gesture. Any Praetorian resident who pulls a Harry Truman (the guy who bought into his own "I'll never leave my mountain" legend and died along with Spirit Lake when Mount Saint Helens erupted) is going to suffer the same fate as Harry, except that he might end up as a walking rock or tree instead of dieing outright.

As for what to do with the refugees, I'd say do what Cole ought to have done in the first place - find an unpopulated reality and relocate them there with the basic tools of survival and promise to check in on them occasionally, while remembering to actually do it instead of pulling a Khan on them.

From the standpoint of Primal Earth, the possibility of colonization of other realities has to have been discussed at various levels of national and world government since dimensional travel was first discovered. Now there's a reason to stop bickering over it and come to a consensus that offers both Praetorians and willing Primals the opportunity to forge a new world together.

Wouldn't it make more sense to call that pulling an Admiral Kirk on them?

Really?

Which is more likely? An arc where our characters help Praetorians relocate to a new world or yet another Incarnate Trial where we beat/eyebeam/shoot etc Praetorian Hamidon, that could possibly help to unlock another Incarnate pool

Well, the dimensions are infinite....so really, there's WAY more than 2 options

Find uninhabited garden world: mine it into the ground for resources.

More than likely, we're going to save Praetoria's butt from P-Hammi.

What's more practical and would be a better story that makes more sense would be relocating to another dimension and giving Hamidon Praetoria.

So that means what our dev team will end up doing is give us yet another iTrial that you have to farm to unlock the next iPower, letting us beat the Hamidon in an anticlimactic showdown so we can put the Praetorians back on their world and everything will be nice and happy in the end with no possible issues.

Amen, the Magi trial was so anticlimatic, I'm like....wait.....what? It's over?

Cole doesn't get up and say: Ha ha ha, you think you've beaten me??!

....and then fuse with the power of some uber something-or-other where he changes form and gets granted a ton of new powers and 6 billion more hps. I mean, that might not common comic-booky thing, but certainly a gaming thing!

Mr. True Shot.

And then we get to hear how much the iTrial sucks, how the writing is garbage, and how terrible the game is becoming from a overly loud, vocal few. (Probably the same few who complain that they can't solo the entire game...)

Hyperbole aside though...
...while having that one trial currently be the only way to gain AiXP does kinda suck, the devs have given us the small team/solo path for the other Incarnate powers already. I am sure (or at least fervently hope for their sakes...) that they will do the same again...

And really, if you think about the Mag trial from a purely video game point of view...
You fight through an army of enemies, then fight three powerful bosses, which sets things up for a fight with a fourth powerful boss... Then the final boss comes in, drops a city-busting nuke on you (reducing everyone's HP to 1) before infusing himself with the power from the Well, growing to giant proportions and fighting you to the end...

Dang near sounds like something out of a Final Fantasy game...
