Mission Transporter

It fails to go to the selected mission so often I've all but quit using it. I've filed trouble tickets, sent PMs, nothing. Been broke for years. I want them to fix it or give me my money back.

I've had a lot pf PEBCAK and ID 10 T protocol errors when using the mission transporter. Every time I actually remember to go in and specifically select the mission instead of just thinking it would naturally send me to the mission I just picked it has worked fine.

It goes to the wrong mission or just stops working? Ouroboros Portals disrupt the Mission TP as well as the Pocket D and Wentworth/Black Market Transporters, if someone drops an O Portal anywhere near you that'll interrupt the TP.

If it's the former problem, well, I can't say I've experienced that ever, although I don't normally have more than one mission open at a time. Of course, on those rare instances I do, I usually end up forgetting to set the mission I want to go to and it inevitably sends me to the other one, but it sounds like you're aware that you need to do this.

On a final note...what money could they possibly give you back? Several years' worth of subscription fees?

It has always worked for me, except for the aforementioned Ouro interference. You do have to make sure you *set* your mission, so it shows up in red, not yellow, though.

This, exactly. When I've bothered to set the mission, it's worked flawlessly hundreds of times.

I cannot tell you how many times I've forgotten to select the correct mission and get sent somewhere else. It's less than 5, but it feels like a lot more. Stupid tp! It should be able to innately know where I want to go!

personally i think it would have been better value to get the team transporter, does exact same thing but rech 4x as fast and works for teammates too if they are near you

/This. Sounds more like user error than a bug to me. Of course it's far easier for someone to blame the game than admit they aren't using the power correctly.

Sure, but ResplendentMs has apparently had it for years, suggesting it came with the Valkyrie Pack back in the mists of time when Team Transporter didn't even exist.

And yeah, I've never had the transporter fail to work after setting an active mission. Well, except the times I forget Pocket D has a no-teleport field and try to use it from there...

true it is possible to have had the mish tp longer, but i honestly dont use it anymore unless my team transporter happens to be on cooldown lol

I've so done this, many, many times.

I have done this SO many times... I sorta wish I could TP from pocket D, but barring that a "Hey Stupid, are you suer you want to activate a useless power here?" sorta prompt would be awesome. Do I expect that? No. If it their fault I brainless on occasion (too many, in fact)? No. But I'd not mind if they tried to make my stupid error harder to do. There are so many prompts already that I find silly, so....

And, as to the OP. With both the mish porter, which I've had forever, and the Team Transporter, I've never seen a problem unless it was my fault for not setting the correct mission first, or jumping the gun before the team leader set the next mish. I strongly suspect you, like someone else said, and I have done, are having PEBKAC errors..

As I was doing a numina and had finished clicking the glowie in the second mission, I use the team transport and got sent to the gate for bricks, instead of the mission that was in bricks. Odd behavior for my new toy.

The worst is when you have a mission that you haven't turned in yet (usually because you don't have the contact's number yet, and you don't want to run back to them), and the porter sends you back to a mission you've already completed.

If you do not actually select the mission by clicking on it and clicking "Select Task", it will send you to whatever mission is at the top of your mission list.

That means if you select a mission but do not click select task to turn your mission from yellow to red, it will not send you where you want to go.

When I have problems like this, Ive trained myself to recognize that the probability lies in a problem existing between chair and keyboard.
At this stage in My adult life, Im comfortable enough with who I am as a human to acknowlege its more likely that I just made a mistake, rather than a video game that works a certain way for everybody works different for me just to screw me.
Also, are You sure You are clicking the button thingy?
Ok I hope you get it worked out.

Aha, I wondered what the heck that button was for. Is that ever explained in-game? Because I've always just opened my mission window and clicked on the mission I wanted, which puts it there in my compass. I've seen the "Select Task" button, but thought it was just some bit of redundancy. I mean, as far as I ever knew, the mission was already selected when I clicked on it.

The mission teleporter has always worked correctly for me, but add me to the list of players who have repeatedly used it after neglecting to set the mission first. I always forget about that and assume it's going to automatically send me to the mission showing in my nav bar. Honestly, I really think it should default to the mission in the nav bar rather than the first one on your missin list, but maybe that's just me.

Select task makes it the active mission, same as interning a mission will. When teaming, you use it to select the active mission so it shows up for everyone. When solo, you can use it to reset a mission by selecting another.

Problem has existed since the Valkyrie Pack. It will always go to a mission door. Appears as a random selection of available missions. It has even failed while in a TF, not going to the mission. A specific failure, doing a LRSF, going back to grandville from nerva, the lead got next the mission, it showed in the nav bar, hit the transporter and went to the door I was standing at. It does not fail every time, just often enough to be really annoying. If it works, with the long animation it not that much faster than running it. The whole problem is just sloppy programming and I have no hope they'll actually work this or the multitude of similar problems, I was just pissed at the time. Rant complete.

Considering you're the only one reporting it (and I'm not even really clear on what specifically the bug is since you're being incredibly unclear in your descriptions), at worst it's a very elusive bug that the devs can hardly be blamed for not fixing.

Also, insert Standard Code Rant here.

I guess once a year could be annoying to some people. Personally, I have NEVER had it fail and I've had the power on both accounts since the Valkyrie pack was released.

And now you resort to posting complete BS. Okay. Unless, of course, you're talking about using it to get to a mission in the SAME ZONE. I agree that would be silly.

Unless you're talking about N/S Indy Port, or N/S Nerva, or getting out to the monkeys or DE monsters in PI. Those mission doors are irritating. I can change zones faster than doing those trips most of the time.

As mentioned before, the mission teleporter does not automatically teleport you to the mission in the nav bar (although I agree it should). A mission just accepted will immediately appear in the nav bar but it is not selected until you hit the select mission button.

If you or the lead did select the mission and you still teleported to the wrong door, then I don't know, maybe it is a bug. But based on what I'm reading in this thread (and my own experiences) it certainly does not seem to be a common problem. Like DarkGob said, fixing an issue that affects very few players is not going to be a high priority--and also probably more difficult to locate.
