Is Twinshot Primal or Prae?

Sorry if this has been answered before, cant find a thread for it. It has been quite a discussion in game for me and my friends. This came up when we were wondering who Maelstrom's Praetorian alt is, since Mael is actually Primal.

Anyone know for sure? Maybe able to cut and paste the information from the Shining Stars storyline with Manticore's information about Twinshot?

I am almost entirely certain that Twinshot is a Primal. She was a member of the same team as Maelstrom at one point. Malestrom is a brand new Powers Division member during the early Praetorian Arcs, so if Twinshot was Praetorian she would likely show up then.

Twinshot is a Primal. There are hints that she's probably the mirror of Ricochet of the Crusaders

Shouldn't that, in typical primal arrogance, be the other way around?

it's a matter of introduction. Most of the time we've been introduced to the Primal version first. This is a rare time where we meet the Praetorian first and the Primal comes later.

Ok thanks all.

I'm pretty sure she's a Praetorian, isn't she? She was first introduced (either actually appeared or mentioned) in one of the Praetorian arcs before she ever showed up in the "new" Atlas.

I think she also alludes to it in one of her story arcs, but I could be mistaken.

(I swear I asked a similar question back when the revamped Atlas first came out, but darned if I can find the thread anywhere.)

Nope. You might be thinking of Ricochet, though.

Put my bet on Twinshot being the Primal version of Ricochet as well.

Speaking of Maelstrom, shouldn't there be a Praetorian version of him? And a Primal version of Desdemona, for that matter.

Maelstrom's first assignment was to kill his Praetorian self. Praet Des, ironically, is member of the Carnival of Light. She's very annoyed about being ordered around by her primal self.

On the note of Twinshot, what's interesting is that in the old convergence patch notes, Twinshot was EXPRESSLY mentioned as being the Primal Earth Ricochet but it was later removed.

So, the remnants of Ultimatum would be:

Twinshot (Rochelle) - DP/Dev - Working with the Shining Stars
Maelstrom (Eddie Polstra) - DP/MA - Working with Emperor Cole
Melee (Ironsides) - Inv/SS - Killed by Maelstrom

Desdemona IS the Primal version of Desdemona.

Was Twinshot Ultimatum? Or was she "recruited" by Maelstrom after his defection to Praetoria?

She seems a little young and- frankly- green, to have been recruited for a hush-hush Black Ops organization that may very well have been responsible for initiating the Primal/Praetorian War.

It would be like making Flambeau a member of the Freedom Phalanx.

Huh, I thought you guys removed that from the patch notes.

Just as Maelstrom is the primal version of Maelstrom.

Really? When's that mentioned?

I'd be curious to know that, too. I don't recall hearing that before.

As for the Praetorian version of Maelstrom, he wouldn't necessarily be anyone special, in any case. Praetorian Polstra didn't necessarily join the military, and even if he had, he wouldn't have a Maelstrom device to make him special (there were only two, from what we learn in Agent G's arc, and the other one was used in the creation/recreation of Noble Savage.)

Wasn't Eddie Polstra the Cop we save in the resistance arcs?

If we're thinking of the same arc, that's Paolo Marino. His Primal counterpart is Wretch.

Huh. Going just by what I've read in the Shining Stars arc, I was convinced that Twinshot was Praetorian. In her dialogue, she makes (or attempts to make) pop culture references that don't quite make sense. There are also a few places where she seems to be trying to use common American figures of speech, but uses them incorrectly, sometimes mixing her metaphors.

She also talks at the end of her arc about how she's fallen out with the Freedom Phalanx because they don't trust people like her with ties to Preaetoria. I thought at the time that meant she was a heroic Praetorian defector who used to work with Maelstrom on the other side, though Ricochet's existence does make it hard to deny that Twinshot's supposed to be her counterpart.
