No more cut scenes, please!

I am really tired of trying to type instructions to the league and getting cut off for the same video time after time. I suggest no more cutscenes in any tf or trial

If it's the same cutscene every time maybe wait until after the cutscene plays? Obviously you know exactly when it's going to happen...

Sounds like two really good suggestions.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

No, they aren't that good. Sure, I could do that - but why are they there? The story has already been told. It's wasting time, when we could be accomplishing mission objectives.

On a ugt -it's important to reiterate details about Will of the Earth and the seedling. And, typically, some unreading person will trigger the cutscene before I can explain that not everyone should use their clarions at the same time, and that they should be staggered.

All these cutscenes do is stall the progress. They do tell a story - sure - but nobody wants to see that same story 100 times.

Well maybe some of you do, but I sure don't. And I'd love an option to opt out of ever seeing them, after I've seen them once.

If someone's on your league that's never done the trial, the cutscenes are triggered. If everyone's successfully completed the trial, the cutscenes are not triggered. If you're seeing the cutscene, it's because someone on the trial hasn't seen it yet. Don't be a booger.

I find it very hard to believe that I am the only one that doesn't care for these cutscenes.

And I sure don't think suggesting I might be a booger for not liking them is appropriate. I made my suggestion. You may not like it, that's your right.
But, booger or not, I'm not going to like it. And I still think that they could time those things to trigger at the end, instead of upon loading in, or in the middle. (and the ones in the middle are the worst.)

I thought that only applied to the intro cut scenes?

And I love cut scenes in story arcs and TFs. But on trials, although cut scenes are cool and I don't want 'em taken out, some could be shortened. Like Keyes could be shortened immensely, and instead have most of his rant play out while we run the trial itself.

That's not 100% accurate Agge.

Only cutscenes that play PRIOR to a trial will be skipped, BAF, Lambda, Keyes. All the rest occur in the middle of things and will play no matter what.

Ugh, really? I did not know that (I don't like iTrials, so haven't done anything more recent than Lambda; assumed the cutscene tech simply extended from there to the others - ***+u+me); they need to extend that technology to those cutscenes if that's true.

I like the cut scenes! It adds to the story!

They only seem bad when you run them non stop.

Also even with the few cutscenes that can be skipped its per character not per global. Meaning for the most part even if you have an entire league of experienced people who've all run the trial hundreds of times, if one person is on an alt, you're still stuck watching the cutscene.

It's not enjoyable, and it just wastes everyones time. Sure I can alt tab out and read forums/fb/manga whatever while the cutscenes are going, which I do, but when I'm playing CoH I'd rather do just that, and actually play CoH.

/disagree.

Way to vote to skip? Sure. That's used successfully elsewhere.
Option to always vote to skip? Fine. Both of those are options used successfully in other games, and would let the *league* decide.
Option to go back and see them outside of the mission/trial? Sure. Goes right along with it.

Other than that, I can't believe you're complaining macros "don't" work - or that, *as the leader* of the trial, you're complaining you get cut off. Seriously? *YOU'RE THE LEADER.* Do this:
- Before starting, ask if anyone's new to the trial.
- If so, hit macro to give rundown and high points of what should/should not be done.
- Hit start *now.* Amazingly, your instructions will never be interrupted by a trial cutscene if the trial hasn't started yet. Mind-blowing, innit.
- Use macros at each phase to remind people of what needs doing. Even if there's a cut scene, your instructions will still go out - and if people are spamming the channel with junk, you can repeat them after with the push of a button.

Everyone *else* seems to have gotten this down. Not sure why it's such a foreign concept for you.

Exactly. I do not mind them too. I like the idea of added captions to missions to enhance the story, rather than go here and kill which leaves ya unsatisfied.

I simply want a way to exit it myself, and continue if I can. The rest who wanna watch, can watch and then catch up, they'll be all right. Except in the naughty case where I drag some bad guys to them to get them torn up. In which case, you simply are put in 'limbo status' until you move. There, I fixed it.

Barring that, I am all for the voting... and being able to click it IN THE SCENE somewhere... like at the bottom corner or such.

And the macro thing. +1 M_B's post.

I'll take all 3 options please!

This is a YMMV issue for sure.

I wouldn't mind cut scenes if they showed more of the player team organzing to fight and less of the villains with the same script. Watching the same cut scene over and over is a bit tedious. We're not talking Hitchcock level suspense here.

I would just like to say that before the trial or TF or SF is started the leader (the one with the star) could have the option of having the cut scene or not having it. Just ask the team/League if they want it. Normally on an Incarnate trial I have only had it once where there was no cut scene. They do get bothersome after watching for many many times!

Now called Madame Shayla:
Main Characters on my main server (Victory)
Goddess of Justice Tanker Incarnate (Hero) Collen Colt Incarnate (Bane Hero), Lady Kitten (Hero) Jen Titanium Mage (Hero and one time Villain) and my first Character to level 50 Shayla Master Mind (Villain)

I mostly like cut scenes, but I've said since they showed up in CoV there should be a way we can skip past them- ESC or something. Once you've seen them a couple of times, you don't need to see them again and sitting twiddling your thumbs while they play out gets old fast.

My all time best moment in the game came from a cs. My team was doing a States TF at the time when one of the group ran ahead to Lord recluse. When the group got to the trigger point our team member was in the cs with lord recluse with the "Look Ma I'm on TV!" macro while he was monologuing. I laughed so hard i nearly fell out of the chair.
