This entire thread is just glorious.

Also I had lunch with Westley yesterday.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Typical.

Because if it had been Brutes or Scrappers, I'd wager the issue would have been delayed to fix the bug. But really, if it had been either of them, the bug wouldn't have gone unnoticed to begin with.
Unless I missed it in the patch notes, they didn't fix the broken extra button bar for Kheldians, either.

I just hope there's money for weekend overtime in the budget. The last issue looked good too -- because the worst bug in it took more people on at one time than were in the beta at any given time. Pushing this live on a Thursday is pushing their luck.

I don't know enough about that bug to comment on it.

But Tankers+Doublehit: It's presumably the same Gauntlet BS that was messing with the PPM proc rate calculations; for example even though Haymaker is a single target attack, it's counted as an AoE, which drives down the Doublehit value for Tankers, just Tankers.

It's not a new occurrence and should have been fresh in their minds with the PPM issue they fixed just recently. Hell, the second I saw the patch notes stating that Doublehit was being calculated based in part on 'number of targets hit' I said to myself "Gee, I wonder if Gauntlet is going to screw this up". And it only took throwing one attack to confirm it.

So, if I can anticipate a bug and then detect/confirm it in seconds, I have to wonder why it happened and went through in the first place, and then pushed all the way to live. It seriously makes me think I'm the only one looking out for Tankers (at least besides Sylph_Knight who showed some concern about the bug and like one other person I saw testing Hybrid on a Tanker).

If anything goes wrong it is your fault.

Fixed that for ya.

As a frequent pilot of healing characters, it is always the healer's fault*, according to nearly all the groups I've ever been in.

*It's rarely the healer's fault. It's rarely the tank's fault. It's rarely the dps's fault. Most often is a combination of everyone's faults, plus the enemies doing things at just the right [wrong] time.

While it's true that our tanks make most other MMO tanks look like paper sheets, there tends to be a lot less 'toe-stepping' in those games as well..

Most DPS go splat in moments if they try to tank anything serious. There are exceptions of course.

Regardless, looking forward to buying up the Mecha stuff and playing around with it tomorrow.

I thought it was the buffer/debuffer's fault, because they're not a healer.

Ugh. So it's still double-loading powers and filling the bar?

And they haven't given an option to disable that bar for Khelds either, have they? I use macros. Don't need the bar. If it worked properly, I'd be glad to see it for new Khelds.

.... how do you find so many groups of - no, won't say it, don't need to be modded. I'm just going to assume they all gravitate to you for some reason and stay off my teams. The few times I've seen someone blame the "healer" I can usually reply "Oh, so they should have been able to heal you through 500 feet of rock/office building/warehouse? Perhaps you should stick with the team next time."

They then either shut up or quit, either one of which is fine with me.

We're talking about Holy Trinity MMOs here, folks. In Holy Trinity MMOs, it's always the healer's fault*.

*As mentioned before, that's actually rare.

Ahh. OK, missed that part.

Though while I won't say "fault" there, I will say the dependance on having someone spamming heals and buffs in there can be annoying. It's one of the reasons two of my friends and I stopped playing Aion - we joked about being on a holy trinity group, walked into a camp of Elites (since you didn't really have a choice for these missions) and promptly found ourselves being really irritated. I hate heal aggro, for one, and I really don't think "Healer gets attacked/interrupted/stun locked, everyone dies" is good design.

I place 100% fault for that in those games over on the developers for being blockheads... then come back and play COH.

Huh, pretty sure it worked fine last time I was on Beta...?
Which I'd be checking now, were I not in a queue. I've *never* been in a queue before

Are the proc changes coming out with this issue? Also any conformations over rumours that Psi blasters damage has been scaled down to that of corruptors? Delayed damage being removed?

Don't know. Which is why I'm asking.

The proc changes aren't till I24. No idea even about the other rumors.

I could be wrong with this assumption... but, since temp bar is a new feature and has never been on the live servers, it would serve no purpose for them list the Kheld issue as fixed since it has never really been an issue on live due to the temp bar never been live before.

Does that make sense? I could be completely wrong, but here's hoping it's fixed and was not listed for that reason

Hey, as long as Seattle is putting 15 minutes into the City of Heroes forums, see if they can keep us from getting kicked off the forums so often.

The concise Trinity blame system:
If the tank dies, it's the healer's fault.
If the healer dies, it's the tank's fault.
If a dps dies, it's their own damn fault.

So...finished downloading the patch earlier, got a bad file error now its started a 3.1 gig download?! What the hell is going on?

Stopped the download and tried again, the error is "Can't create a file when that file already exists.", it says I'll have to repair, the repair ran and started the download again, since I'd already downloaded some I guess its lower this time, still 2.5 gigs. Is this happening to anyone else?

I had a lot of crashes earlier this week and when I went to fix it basically "re-installed" and did what you have described. At the moment my patcher is at 22% of whatever stage...will report back when done.

Finished patching, no 2.5 gig patch here.

Reboot computer and try again. Patcher doesn't like it if there is a copy running or failed to unload.

Yeah, this is really weird. I was just playing the game last night so I know my install itself wasn't messed up, no clue. I'll just be glad I patched early, should be done downloading in a couple of hours, when I expected the servers up anyway.

@Zombie, can I cancel download and restart or am I stuck downloading now that I started it? Edit- Tried restarting, but the download is picking up where it left off, thanks for help anyway.

By 'restarting', do you mean the program or the computer? I mean restarting the computer. If you did that and it's picking up where it left off, then just let it run.
