I'm waiting on the mechs armor myself, but it does make me wonder how many Jedi will be born into COH with the addition of a light saber skin.

I've seen a few mention the Mech Armor options...

Those costume pieces/weapons will only be made available through using Paragon Reward Tokens via the VIP Tier 9 Veteran Reward Program.
It is not something that points can be used on.

I am resentful about this week's items and bitter over what are not this week's items. Oh, wait -- no, I'm not. I like this week's items and I'm looking forward to the items of weeks to come.

Even with my love of shapeshifters, I couldn't justify the coyote travel power, but a stealth panther travel power? Sold! And coyote on sale? Sold again!

My characters who are awaiting the sci fi and mecha pieces will wait another week while my lycanthropes will get an upgrade. Works for me. Thanks!

That's not true. The Stealth power is *stealth* not *invisibility*.

You can toggle on 40 feet of Stealth (by means of a toggle in the Pop Up Tray) with the Panther Stealth Power. Minions have 45 feet of perception, and other foes, larger distances. So, if you get within 5 feet of any foe, you will indeed be seen. That is *not* invisibility. Invisibility powers begin a 55+ feet of stealth.

That said, Panther Stealth is indeed better than IO Stealth or SuperSpeed Stealth individually.

I don't like how these types of powers blow your toggles.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Animal lovers and furries must really like the updates like this and I'm happy for them. But really, you need to spread items like this out more than you do or maybe even start offering a power and a costume set each week instead of one or the other. I'm really looking forward to retro sci-fi pack but I keep getting let down seeing vanity pet this, travel power that every week.

I don't have it, but as I understand it the panther power is a toggle like sprint or beast run. When you toggle it on the Pop Up Power Tray appears with a stealth toggle you can turn off.

So you can be a panther or a stealthy panther.

I must say I'm a little disappointed in the Panther Stealth Power.

Firstly, there go my toggles again! WHY do you have to disable them in ALL my Market-bought travel powers??? I've never understood the rationale for this. Probably because there is none.

Secondly, it requires two buttons to work. It should only take one. I see no reason why we need to have another whole action bar placed on the screen to hold the Stealth power as a separate toggle when we activate this power. The Stealth should activate with the Panther power.

Thirdly, the "stealth" power seems really weak, even weaker than the Concealment.Stealth power, which is almost a joke.

This power actually fits my current character perfectly. But considering the cost and the weak stealth that can't be enhanced it's a non-purchase for me. With Ninja Run + Sprint I can move faster AND have stealth with an IO in Sprint. When all it takes to be effectively invisible is Super Speed + Stealth IO I really don't understand why we're getting such limited powers on the market. I don't think anybody is looking for a "WIN" button with these offerings, just some utility that actually makes them worth purchasing.

Yeh the only beef I have, besides overcrowding the market with vanity pets early on, is the part about detoggling your protection. I understand that the power trays will not be accessable during the pet power because of lack of animations with many click powers or attack animations in the game, but for armors and other toggles that are merely cosmetic with no animations to be turned off, makes me hate the vanity pets more than some appeal to me.

By "vanity pet" you mean "premium travel power," right?

Pets don't affect your other powers in any way, but the Rocket Board, Flying Carpet, Coyote Transformation and now Panther Stealth powers all restrict you from being able to use any other powers at all.

Tempting...
It's not full stealth mode, and it's without toggles. So if you normally stealth missions with any two of superspeed/ stealth IO or stealth pool power you will notice that you get noticed.
Without toggles, you'll be a bit to a lot squishier too.

The stealth will supress when you click a glowie (which you prob know) so mobs will notice you toggle free character who can't attack back until shape changing back.

For myself I'm avoiding the toggle dropping powers now. Maybe. I think the panther is one of the best for a toggle dropper.

On beast run - it's a great animation on Crab characters, I'd get it for that alone but otherwise I prefer ninja run for most characters.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

Actually, there is a rationale for it, and it's been posted previously by Clockwork 01, the Associate Producer for the game.

This is not a simple request, it is an exponential increase in time and work for every new animation that is put into the game.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

The rationale is that the creating animations for all the 100's of powers for the vanity travel power will take too long, which equates to costing more to develop.

I'm hoping for one day to supress toggles and toggle animations instead.

If somebody could confirm the panther stealth radius I would appreciate it.

EDIT: Found it somewhere else. Looks like 40' is the stealth radius.

Seems like it would be better to make one generic "toggle on" animation for each travel power and have it inherit the animation duration of each individual toggle. Then either suppress any enemy-affecting toggles (as with Hide) or make it so they can't be used in travel mode (as with Rise to the Challenge when mezzed).

As an example: Having a coyote that rears its head back and howls every time I flip a toggle back on might be annoying, but it'd be significantly better than not having any defenses at all while transformed.

Total waste of points. And on the boarder of insulting. Let's see...

1. Panther "vanity" power for 650 points.
2. An ENTIRE powerset, Staff Fighting, 800 points.

This is like going to a burger joint and getting condiment sauce for $5.50, but the entire meal is $8.00.

Rip-off here?

Main Power -
+489.60% jump height on self unresistable
+246.00% jump speed on self unresistable
+320.20% run speed on self unresistable

Once toggled, you get a new bar above your first one, with the Stealth power.

Stealth -

+4000.00% stealth radius on self unresistable

So yeah, 40 Foot. Unlike Stealth, you don't slow down, the speed and jump are the same as before. It's an interesting power, I got it, I like it.. meh.. not going to be for everyone. I had the points, and more for other stuff later.

Like someone else pointed out, Mech Armor will be a Tier 9 VIP reward, not buyable, and the other set, the leather and chain? Will be given to everyone for free when I23 comes out. Also no need to buy.

The Panther power can be used on ALL characters, existing or brand new.

A new power set requires starting a brand new character. It does nothing for your existing characters.

Right. The only premium costume set that's being tested right now is the Retro Sci-Fi set (and I really wouldn't expect it to launch alongside Issue 23).

The other costume sets--Mecha, Leather and Chainmail Armor--are all unlockable by VIPs, just like Venom said. Mecha requires you have 3 tokens above Paragon Rewards Tier 9, and Leather and Chainmail are just for having an active subscription.

Respectfully, using your logic:

You go to a restaurant and you are given a ticket valued at $9.00. And you must choose what to "eat":

1. Condiment Sauce $5.50.
2. Full Meal $8.00.

Condiment sauce can be used for all and current foods. Is the sauce justifiable to have at a price of roughly 2/3 the price of a full meal? Are you seriously saying that the "value" of the condiment sauce is worth the price in RELATIVE comparison with a meal?

The Panther travel power is mostly aesthetic and has very limited utility in game across all current and future characters. So you must pay roughly 2/3 of a Powerset that is for future character play in which this powerset's utility value greatly exceeds a "vanity" travel?

Given the amount of points one must spend on a "vanity" travel power for 650 points whereas a Powerset is 800 points--the overall cost comparison is still justifiable?

Realistically, there's a huge discrepancy in what you are paying for and what you are getting. This was my point.

Was never an issue of current versus future "abilities".

Although it's not the worst item I've seen, it occurs to me that the four legged rig seems to have possesed the dev's lately. We have four legged beasts beast as powers, various vanity pets and now travel powers, in my view it's been greatly over-used now.

Of course there are some animal based heroes in comics but it seems to me that a lot of the recent market content of this sort would be better suited for a Fantasy (cough -there I said it) type game rather than a superhero game.

Hopefully it's a lack of development time rather than a lack of imagination.
