More journalistic sensationalism that misinforms and misleads...
I ASSURE you this is NOT a point of interest in this country. 99.99999% of Koreans (and arguably EVEN Koreans in SuWon) wouldn't even know this exists or care for that matter.
However, I will say this...in ANY country, please wash your hands!!!! -
Happens when I select from the Server Selection screen following immediate logging into game. I try to choose any server and then...
-
Hey folks,
In less than 24 hours from my last log-in, COH will not let me log into any servers. I get "lagged-out", so my Account Name and PW are accepted (Haven't changed), but, when I get to server selection screen that's when I "lose" connection.
The only thing I have done differently within the past 24 hours is changed my internet connection from directly connecting to the wall and back to my router (which has consistently been connected to COH for the past year).
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -

Quote:Nethergoat...your mocking, sarcasm fails at what you are attempting to do. Based on your two posts, you'll probably come back with more, but it's okay..."...I love you, man...".it'd be awesome if everything in the world was free!
I wouldn't argue against it, certainly.
How about you go make that happen, then get back to me.
In the meantime, I'll keep making my purchasing decisions based on sticker prices and I urge you to do the same.
Seriously, this is starting to get petty. The joys of Forums. Sincerely, have a good day and see you in the game, possibly.
Too much time has been wasted on arguing stupid crap in this Forum. You and I have better things to do in our lives.
-Peace -
Quote:Do you really need to be so pretentious? Well by your insinuations, it seems so because you must resort to personal attacks. You assume:People buy $5 condiments all the time, dude. You go to the store, buy a giant bottle of ketchup, and put it in your fridge to use however and whenever you want. You can even use it with the $10 steak that the store also sells if that's how you roll.
Your analogy doesn't work, because there ARE people willing to pay nearly the cost of a meal (or even over it) for some fancy condiments that they really like. You're not one of those people. And to be honest, I'm not either. But you're arguing against other peoples' tastes and how they want to spend their money, and neither of those arguments are going to end with you looking like the hero.
I would totally pay 650 Paragon Points to see you walk into a grocery store and argue that they shouldn't be charging for condiments, though.
You don't see why someone would want to spend their money on this. Fair point, but people do want to spend their money on the Panther power and don't feel they're being ripped off. Don't buy it if it's not worth it to you, end of story.
Or is this whole thing you complaining because you really really REALLY want the Panther power for yourself but can't justify spending a little over $8 on it?
1. "...You don't see why someone would want to spend their money..." This is your overreaching judgement. My posts have no such inference. This was never implied nor stated in anything I wrote. Stay with facts...
2. Your second point: "...Or is this whole thing you complaining because your really, really REALLY want the power..."
Instead of staying with factual details of what I wrote, you now diverge to this? Seriously, show me where I said any of what you are insinuating?
Furthermore, you and I do not know each other or each others personal status, so to clear up any misconceptions you have, probably like you, I am VIP. However, the only thing I REALLY don't do is spend much of my accumulating points because I have no desire for what is normally offered. If others want it, the more, the merry.
Again, I never said people shouldn't buy Panther travel. Also your comment of:
"...Don't buy it if it's not worth it to you, end of story." Aren't you basically saying: "...if you don't like my opinion then don't say anything...?"
Like you, I used this Forum to voice (similarities end here) what I disliked about the Panther power. And, again, I never said for anyone to NOT buy it. I was stating my opinion of the price discrepancy of 650 points versus 800 points. A huge difference of what you are paying for versus what you are getting.
I have been arguing that the price is too much for its relative value. What's wrong with getting Panther travel for a lower price? Would you really argue against this?
That's all. Have a good day. -
Quote:Respectfully, you missed the entire point of my posts. They have nothing to do with your last sentence. My posts have been very clear. In fact, 2nd post has summarized my position.Well, this is highly subjective, of course.
Unusually for it's MMORPG generation, individual character aesthetics are very important to CoH development. Judging by the responses in this thread, there are more than a few people happily willing to pay the price for this ability, even given that it is primarily aesthetic in nature.
Speaking for myself, I'm not interested in the power and won't be buying it. My spouse, on the other hand, has a South-American Jaguar-Goddess character, so it's a mortal lock for her.
If you're saying the abilitiy isn't worth it for you, that's fine - personally, I agree.
However, you appear to be saying that it's not worth it for other people and that's apparently just not true.
Please don't overreach in analysis, just follow what I stated. Here is your snip of what I said:
"The Panther travel power is mostly aesthetic and has very limited utility in game across all current and future characters. So you must pay roughly 2/3 of a Powerset that is for future character play in which this powerset's utility value greatly exceeds a "vanity" travel?
Given the amount of points one must spend on a "vanity" travel power for 650 points whereas a Powerset is 800 points--the overall cost comparison is still justifiable?
Realistically, there's a huge discrepancy in what you are paying for and what you are getting. This was my point. " -
Quote:Respectfully, using your logic:The Panther power can be used on ALL characters, existing or brand new.
A new power set requires starting a brand new character. It does nothing for your existing characters.
You go to a restaurant and you are given a ticket valued at $9.00. And you must choose what to "eat":
1. Condiment Sauce $5.50.
2. Full Meal $8.00.
Condiment sauce can be used for all and current foods. Is the sauce justifiable to have at a price of roughly 2/3 the price of a full meal? Are you seriously saying that the "value" of the condiment sauce is worth the price in RELATIVE comparison with a meal?

Was never an issue of current versus future "abilities". -
Total waste of points. And on the boarder of insulting. Let's see...
1. Panther "vanity" power for 650 points.
2. An ENTIRE powerset, Staff Fighting, 800 points.
This is like going to a burger joint and getting condiment sauce for $5.50, but the entire meal is $8.00.
Rip-off here? -
Thanks for replies. Your insight reinforces a lot of what I was wrestling with. I think i'm just gonna move on...
If /Poison ever gets changed, I'd reroll... -
Quote:Long story short, fixing the comp for a relative who refuses to "upgrade". I can't even persuade to get a new case for basic airflow.Dual rails are usually used for SLI or Crossfire graphics, 2 graphics cards. It's actually a good thing that you have that in case you want to upgrade in the future.
Of course, this is all assuming my memory is not faulty at the moment.
Edit:
"80 plus Bronze" is really good, but 400W is likely too low for a dual graphics card setup.
You maybe could run your onboard graphics and a graphics card with it though, which is good.
You'll be fine though. You won't have to worry unless you want to upgrade in the future.
The person who made the comp did a horrible job so I'm trying to "patch" things up with what I can get here. The original PSU was a piece of garbage that was emitting serious electrical shocks (if you touched the metallic back end of the computer case). And no brass mounts were used for motherboard... -
Hey folks.
Hope all is well.
I am going to give /Poison a shot on controllers now that I have played a Fire/Poison Corruptor up to lvl 39. And I think /Poison "might" be better on a troller. Imho, definitely not that great on a Corruptor. I'm basically trying to give /Poison another chance, however, I'm not fond of grinding a troller just so I can get damage from pets...
So, I've read some Posts and I keep debating "overall" synergy with damage. This is for general PVE, Team or solo.
1. Fire/Poison
2. Plant/Poison
3. Dark/Poison
I see various pros and cons with the above, but I just can't decide. I think damage wise they would perform in the order listed beyond lvl 35. But Dark, on paper, seems to have the most synergy with -ToHit.
Thoughts on a choice?
Thanks in advance. -
Note: I live in a country where I do not have much to choose from so I'm lucky to find "decent" computer parts. This is why the PSU is what it is.
1. Motherboard MSI N1996
http://www.specsbox.com/142/msi-n199...ard-specs.html
2. PSU FSP400-60EPN 80 Plus Bronze 400W, Dual 12V at 18Amps (on box), but site says 17Amps. Click on Specs...

There is nothing glamorous about this computer. Basic HDD, ODD and On-Board graphics. -
-
Hey folks,
Hope all is well.
Long story short: I bought a PSU that has dual 12V lines, but the micro ATX board only requires a singular 12V line to run "On-Board" graphics.
I totally forgot to think about this when I bought the PSU in a hurry. Did I goof?
Thanks in advance. -
Hey folks,
Hope all is well.
I just ran DIB and I noticed that Ruin Mages made Tenebrous Tentacles pretty much "miss". So is their Defense bubble checking for Immob first, which would cause Tenebrous Tentacles to be pretty much useless? (Forgot to mention I had no Enchancers and was at lvl 18 against +1/2). However, other attacks were not a consistent issue.
I could not notice what was happening with Abys. Gaze.
So is Dark Blast WAI?
Thanks in advance. -
Quote:Very, very good explanation. This is crystal. Thanks.Quick physics lesson.
- The Cap's inertia is separate from that of his shield.
- And, while the shield might absorb the impact, that's only HALF the equation. We then have two possiblities:
- The shield absorbs the impact and simply becomes identical (from an impact standpoint) with the ground. Think "collision with a tree"
- The shield reflects the impact (like it did with the hammer) and "rebounds" since there's nothing actually bracing it. Think "head on collision of two cars".
Cap would still be traveling at roughly terminal velocity. And while the backside of the shield would absorb/redirect the impact too, it's no better than the ground at doing so. Cap's body would STILL have to find some way to impart all that inertial energy. And it's not going to do it in a uniform way.
In either case, the dear Captain would likely splash all over the inside of his shield upon impact. -
Hey folks,
Hope all is well. (Trying not to get into spoilers)
In The Avengers, I was wondering why Capt. A. really needs a parachute to chase after someone. Couldn't he have just used his shield to absorb the impact when he had hit the ground? I mean...he did take a mighty blow from a certain something after he was on the ground. And can't his shield withstand The Hulk's punches?
I'm just curious in terms of "reality"...Also in real life, how hard would the impact have been? I forgot high school physics....
Thanks in advance. -
Hey folks,
Hope all is well.
I have a Fire/Poison and a Sonic/Poison Corr...both of which are 29ish. I am trying to keep an open mind about /Poison, but, in realistic play, I can't stand it because of numerous reasons that have been mentioned in many Poison posts. (I rolled a Poison toon to make up my own mind and, now, I support many sentiments of those who are unhappy with it.)
Just wondering how "much" better it truly gets with last two powers. I am very close to deleting both out of pure unhappiness of how /Poison plays.
So, continue or delete?
Thanks in advance. -
Gonna mention some combos that would be much better than Beam Rifle imho.
1. Primaries:
---Fire, Ice, Sonic, Radiation
2. Secondaries:
---Mental, Electric, Ice
3. Combos:
---Fire/all the above, Ice/all the above, Radiation/Mental, Electric.
As for Beam Rifle, it is slow even though it has good ST damage. However it "is" reliant on Disintegrate to constantly recharge so you can maximize Disintegration. Do you really want to be centered around it?
YMMV -
Well aware of that...
The issue of the post has been clicking Regen Heals while queing them and what appears to be a changed game mechanic that significantly affects Regen's playability.
Going WP alleviates such inconveniences. Zero clicking. -
Thanks for your responses. I'll just be rolling WP for brutes because I may do the "proverbial" tanking with a brute. Waiting for "ques" is not fun when taking alphas. Especially for a powerset like War Mace--unlike TW which would be understandable.
As for Scraps, still keeping Regen. -
Quote:I wasn't soloing. I was the sole melee toon for a full PUG. The Alpha strikes are what killed me. I would go to group of Freaks-swing at em then i'd see my green bar instantly drop--i tried to click "heal" or, sometimes, followed by "dull pain" resulting in a 4 second death. At level 27, I don't think that many builds(even brutes) can solo +2/x8 without using inspirations, specifically popping 4 purples before attacking the group. Regen has no defense, so almost every attack against you is going to hit, and even with your small resistances you will not be able to keep up with the damage without Instant Healing, or maybe not even with IH. I've been leveling a SS/Regen Brute(currently level 42) and don't think I could handle +2/x8 without liberal use of inspirations.
All because of what appears to be changed game mechanics.
