I think I will reserve judgement until I actually see the water effects for myself...

I think it's more likely that Bio Armor will be a pay set and Water Blast a free-to-subscribers set. Simply because there are no defensive pay sets yet. The new tech for absorb is just as new as the new tech that might hypothetically exist for water.

I really should do something about this signature.

Looking forward to the release whenever that may be. I can finally make my poison themed villain Water/poison Corr.

From what I understand, Water's mechanic is the same as Street Justice's combo system - some powers increase tidal mastery, and some consume tidal mastery. So it's not exactly "New".

I believe he/she meant that with regard to the power's visual effects, given that we've heard again and again that water effects just don't work well with the game engine.

I'm betting it will be similar as to what Leviathan mastery has.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

I think it will be completely the opposite. I am fairly sure more people would buy water blast over an armor set.

Water blast and Bio armor will be paid for sure.
Not sure about Nature affinity... Maybe they will give that for free post I23 release?
Also, its weird that not one single of this is on beta yet.
That means no new powerset for may.

I think that they are not going to let us test it. They're just going to have it ready for when I23 hits. I mean c'mon look how long we've been waiting for a actual passable water blast set!

Which would look like ****.

I can't see anyone paying for something that looks like Leviathan powers.

If it's coming out with i23, we're gonna have to pay for it, otherwise I'm fairly certain It'd of been on Beta.

the only leviathan power i could see being used possible is water spout, which i think is pretty awesome

2 of the leviathan powers are shark themed which isnt really water, 1 of them is hibernate, 1 of them is an armor, 1 of them is a pet

that would leave only 2 other possible powers both of which have about the exact same animation

I think that it will look like the waterfall cape or better..which is the best water effect that we have in game currently.

The Leviathan Coral Guardian pet has a water blast power. As do a number of coralax mobs. Bile Spay uses similar FX, as does the fire extinguisher temp power. It's just a jet of tiny white particles, whith a vague resemblance to a garden hose on "mist" setting, if you use your imagination.

The waterfall cape is better, but it's still visually unconvincing. What is needed is refraction, which would definitely need new tech.

Nope, we don't.

As long as we have a solid-ish 'form' rather than ambiguous particles that come with a visual splash effect, it'd be perfectly convincing in this game world as water since no water effects currently refract...it'd be like expecting the water blasts to be reflective before we had ultra-mode...it'd look odd for one thing to have such an effect and not everything.

I rather doubt that.

As much as people may be chomping at the bit for the new sets, they've never released a set without beta testing it first. (And frankly would you *really* want them too?)

Look at how long we knew about Staff Fighting before we finally got it. I wouldn't hold my breath for any of these sets coming with i23. Probably not even during i23.

Well they've told us that none of the sets, spoiled or leaked, will be coming out with I23.

But given that there are -no- other power sets out right now, I think it's safe to say that the 3 spoiled at the pummit will be hitting beta. I really wouldn't be surprised to see them come out during I23's tenure.

I was under the impression we were getting new pay-for sets every month or two so I'm betting one or more will be out before i24.

Solid water?! Don't we already have that? It's called Ice Blast.

Actually come to think of it I might have to skip this power set - Running max Particle count gives me migraines due to Super Speed's obnoxious brightness.

Reading comprehension?

I said solid-ish form like a stream similar to the waterfall cape vs an ambiguous stream of particles like the mist look in the Fire extinguishers or Coralax's Wave of Cold attacks.
