I always use :
/macro FXoff "SuppressCloseFx 1$$SuppressCloseFxDist 255"
This suppresses the majority of animations.
No more hasten hands shining superspeed feet or leadership buffs. Even hides the majority of armor effects. Makes my Speedster much more fun to play IMO.
/macro FXon "SuppressCloseFx 0"
Makes everything shiny again -
Very nice! I can easily pull some of them off as acid generation.
Acid/Poison Corr Here I come!!!! -
Quote:I'm doing exactly the same, I had a plant/poison controller initally but made an ice/poison corr. Stopped levelling him when water blast was revealed. Just collecting loads of Astral and Emp merits on my current main (until water blast that isI'm gonna repurpose my Ice/Poison corruptor into the Water/Poison he was meant to be.
) to give my ACID/Poison Corr a kick start to incarnatehood
Roll on water blast!!! -
Looking forward to the release whenever that may be. I can finally make my poison themed villain Water/poison Corr.

Quote:I agree I know first hand the sheer power of the mind/psi dom. I loved how one of the arc missions where you face the army alone I just had the boss mobs take care of themselves.Confuse doesn't cause foes to generically "change sides." It causes them to target and attack any faction flagged as 'enemy' to players, and not target any entities flagged as 'ally.' So if they confuse a target, the target just attacks more of the player's foes.
As for the question at hand: I'm HIGHLY biased, my main character being a Mind/Psi dom since doms existed, but that'll tell you just how much mileage mind/psi doms can give you. Blasters got a slightly modified version of psi blast, which lost the extra range it had in the hands of defenders. Aside from that it's a decent set, and along with /mental can be pretty safe. Just know that it won't be anywhere near as safe as the Mind/Psi dom, as that has superior control, drain psyche, and mez protection. (The last gained via domination) If you are looking into investing IO's into the character, the dominator will benefit far more from that.
Ive just got that wondering notion about what a blaster psi would be like.
Thanks for the feedback so far. Any other views? -
I initially had a fully ioed mind/psi dominator before I went crazy one night and deleted a few too many characters. However I am having difficulty deciding on which character to remake. I love the controls of a mind dominator. Nothing like doing the clones arc where your 8 identical clones are all confused tk'ing each other around the room.
However I can't help think that I maybe a more offensive style would be a better end game option as in other similar games I have a psychic they are more offensive in nature. I am making this character so I can play through all the arcs that have been added in the past few issues for lower levels.
Any suggestions to what you personally feel is the best or what your own personal experiences are?
Thanks in advance fellow forumites. -

Don't know how many people know of this one. I was informed of quite recently is a way to hide all the powers from different armors like fire/ice etc. Even hides spines animations and the horrible glowing hands from hasten and feet from superspeed.
/macro FXoff "SuppressCloseFx 1$$SuppressCloseFxDist 255"
Creates a button to hide all the fx
/macro FXon "SuppressCloseFx 0"
To return the fx to normal.
For the people like me who prefer aesthetics now you can play fire/ice and get non shiny hasten hands! -
-
You can actually hide the effects of ALL armors and buffs using the following macro.
/macro FXoff "SuppressCloseFx 1$$SuppressCloseFxDist 255"
A button will appear in your powertray click it and voila no horrible ice armor. Just checked this myself with a new toon.
Works for fire and a variety of other powersets. It even suppresses the little buff icons from leadership. Only glow I get on my toons now is the one from secondary mutation.
To turn effects back on.
/macro FXon "SuppressCloseFx 0"
Hope this helps. -
Probably reroll my main Sullster into a plant/poison Troller as my current life path has changed recently and this character would represent me closest in game. (Messed with his own genetic structure to create superpowers.)
Depends how much more poison gets altered in Beta. Noxious Gas' endurance is very sick... haha -
Hope you all have fun. I have Given up and gone to bed. Managed to grab the hoverboard when the market was up for me seems like a nifty travel power.(was up for 5-10 mins out of the 2 hours i played.) Hopefully all sorted tomorrow.
Good effort so far devs. The thing that got me the most excited seeing the yellow passive borders on skulls in Mercy. Looks like you did bring it over from GR. -
Im in!!! YAY

Anyone else sat on the main freedom screen. Repeatedly putting in your password with the music counting down the final minutes....

This is my current live build. I went with Energy Mastery so I dont have to worry about endurance. If your keen on Hasten you can swap it for something. The kinetic combats weren't as hard to aquire as I thought and help with the softcap. I initially had combat jumping in there but didnt like the animation. I found that rage and fury gave enough damage to only warrant attacks at 4/5 slots and freed up slots for other tasty set bonuses.

I have 45% soft cap s/l and can go afk in +4/x8 maps and still be alive when I come back. This is based off a build posted by DoctorWhat in earlier forum posts -
Just want to say thanks DoctorWhat.
After changing your build slightly I got what I was happy with but still kept the S/L Softcap. Thanks for the post
