Let us have auras without capes

I have some characters that I want to use an aura with, but no cape. It's really annoying that I have to do the whole boring cape arc before I can get the aura mission. There's really no good reason to have it set up that way. Can we get that changed?

The whole boring cape arc?
Isn't it just talking to people and one mission?

Cape mish is really easy to do, and takes, like, fifteen minutes.

Come on.

I bought the cape/aura unlock off the market; totally worth it. Now I can have cape/aura toons at level uno.

As others have already pointed out your request has already been added to the game. Simply buy the Aura unlock for 160 points and you can use the Auras at level 1 without using any capes.

Unlocks were the first things I bought. Never doing those missions ever again.

For that reason, the fact that you can buy global access, I don't think your suggestion will be given any thought.

Ditto.

If one cares to slog through 30 levels before having access to Auras rather than just buying access fairly cheaply from the Paragon Market, then a few minutes to do the cape mission beforehand won't hurt them.

Can I buy a global unlock that will give me, say, a "Paragon City Directory" so that none of my characters will ever again have to go chasing across zones to meet the Hero Corps and Bloody Bay contacts, or David Wincott?

I was looking at that the other night but didn't pick it up as the store text doesn't make clear that it unlocks at creation- the wording left me unsure if I'd still have to wait for level 20 or whatever.

If it unlocks as 1, that's the deal of the century!

But aren't those purchases per character?

... y'know, other than the (specifically redside) bloody bay one, I can't remember the last time I saw those. Admittedly I might be blanking them out.

i agree the perma global unlocks from the market are definitely worth it

The global unlocks are probably the best things on the market. Cheap as hell, too.

Yeah, but you can buy a bunch of them and let them sit in your mail to claim as you want them. Astral Merits fall like rain in iTrials (admittedly less in DA).

The Cape & Auras unlocks (160 PP each) are from character creation on, account wide.

Some special items do have to wait until you get into the game, namely the incarnate purchased auras.

I wasn't aware you could unlock these in the store. I'll definitely be doing that.

I still think the suggestion is valid though. There's no good reason to make people who want to unlock them in game unlock capes before auras.

I swear this used to be the case for Heroes, was it changed when they revamped the cape mission?

You know, now you come to mention it ... I can't remember the last time I was sent to talk to a PVP contact or to speak to Wincott.

Anyone else notice this?

Nope. I think most of us are too busy doing DfB/DiB's to outlevel the contacts that would send us to them.

If you're redside you usually have to wait until a friday/saturday night for DFB or until a new powerset comes out. Otherwise you're only going to be in a team with tumbleweeds.

I said "most" players not all. Of course the term "Most" also applies to the number of players blueside.
