4 Hour = 1080 Paragon Points
8 Hour = 1440 Paragon Points

PLEASE NOTE: The Double XP Boosters will only be available on the Paragon Market between April 24th and April 30th, 2012!
Players below Tier 8 rewards get 400PP per month, at Tier 8 they get 550PP. So for almost one month's worth of points I can get ONE hour of DXP ?? For four months of paragon points I could get 8 hours of DXP??

Too steep, I'll pass thanks.

50% XP Boosters (1, 4, 8 Hours)

Market Location:
Paragon Picks > Featured
Paragon Picks > New
Buffs & Boosts > XP Boosts

Price:

1 Hour = 240 Paragon Points
4 Hour = 720 Paragon Points
8 Hour = 960 Paragon Points
It would still take almost 4 months worth of points to get 8 hours of 50% XP, I'll still pass.

The following items are additional sale items to celebrate the 8th Anniversary of City of Heroes. These items will be on sale from April 24th, 2012 until April 30th, 2012! They can be found in the Paragon Market in the following location:

Paragon Picks > Sales

Recipe Inventory Increase

Price: 800 Paragon Points - 50% = 400 Paragon Points!

A month of points for 5 recipe increase on all alts? Hm.....pass

Salvage Inventory Increase

Price: 800 Paragon Points - 50% = 400 Paragon Points!
A month worth of points for salvage increase of only 10 for all my alts? Hm.....pass.

Character Respec Token

Price: 800 Paragon Points - 50% = 400 Paragon Points!
Normally two months of points reduced to a month for the sale of a respec? Pass. Long time veterans likely have some veteran reward respecs, or could run the three respec trials or complete the first patron arc redside for the respec or else use build number 2 or 3.

XP Boosters (1x, 3x, 5x)

Price:
1 Booster = 120 Paragon Points - 50% = 60 Paragon Points!
3 Boosters = 300 Paragon Points - 50% = 150 Paragon Points!
5 Boosters = 450 Paragon Points - 50% = 225 Paragon Points!
Hm, pass on these too. I'd rather dump points into the super packs and walk away with a lot of 25% boosters, plus the Experienced booster that gives 5 blue bars of XP. Also will likely walk away with more enhancement boosters and proabably some ATO and catalysts.

11550/80=$144.375

Iunno...

Alot of this stuff I dont like. I'm glad that the storages FINALLY went on sale, but i feel like they marked that one in the lesser category (discount wise) knowing how many people wanted it so they profit more. I am more than a little disappointed.

Im indifferent to purples being on the market, to be frank, I dont care. the folks that still want purples that would not want to spend real money for them will still to purchasing them in game on the black market. People like me that dont care one way or the other and just want a set just to have, I'd probably buy it from the PM, not the BM. For those that buy inf and what not fall into both of these crowds.

Is it cheaper to buy inf outside the game than it is paying for the market? This is where Paragon needs to start thinking from when putting things like purples on the market.

Also the xp boosters are insanely stupidly high even with discounts. I for one will not be buying any of those. I'd rather pay for the super packs (due to variety of rewards) which I am pretty pissed about atm anyway. I have bought over 4, maybe 5 of those packs and have yet to get the only vanity pet I wanted, "The Black Wolf." So out of 96-120 chances to get the damn thing and still have not received it... Needless to say I am pretty upset about this, so I am pretty much done with buying that pack altogether.

Question for a friend who's on the basic Free account.

The VIP starter kit, can that be applied to a Free account to upgrade it, or is it just a fresh new account? They've been on Free for a few weeks, got to about lvl 20 or so and are looking at going VIP, this would be a good entry for them to do so.

Found a small bug with the items,
I went to purchase the extra 10 slots for enhancments, have the points but it will not let me purchase. I purchased a extra 10 slots months ago, and we can get up to 2 extra rows.
but it seems to think you can ONLY purchase this if you have not purchased any before.

Are you trying to purchase the (1 of 2) or the (2 of 2) upgrade? If you already bought the first upgrade, I think you can't buy it again, you have to buy the second one. Don't worry, both are on sale.

Did you try buying upgrade 2 of 2? If you bought 1 of 2 last time, then 2 of 2 is the one you want. I bought the first upgrade months ago as well, and just got the second today, so it worked for me at least.

Nice to see the storage upgrades on sale. I bought 'em all.

Get started with the VIP experience by purchasing this VIP Starter Kit, which includes one month of VIP Game Time for new City of Heroes Freedom players! This kit includes a serial code for the creation of a new account, access to City of Heroes and City of Heroes Going Rogue, as well as the aforementioned month of VIP Game Time!
Last time they did this, at Freedom Launch, it required the creation of a brand new account. Judging by the way they phrased this, it would seem the same applies this time around.

So... they give us 900 Paragon Points if we create a Praetorian?

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

... Hit it ...

They removed exploits and set governors on reward rates which are two separate things. It is easier to PL through regular content than AE and has been since they allowed self adjusting spawns. The devs released he Kraken on personal control over leveling speed a long time ago. Now they are providing aids for the outliers that must be there even faster etc... I see no harm or course change in this action.

dear everyone whining about how they're just trying to "make money":

Do you do this every time you go out to eat?

"OH MY GOD, look they TOTALLY want me to buy that appetizer with my meal just to make money! Why is that steak TWENTY DOLLARS when I get get a hamburger for FIVE?!? How come this soda is two bucks when I can get water for free?!?"

It's a store.
Making money is its raison d'ĂȘtre.
This shouldn't be a confounding surprise to anyone.

Did a bunch of the forum population come of age in Soviet Russia or something?

ps:
I'm totally hitting that storage sale....

As a casual friendly game, putting purples on the market makes sense, as not everyone has the time to dedicate to getting the Inf for purples in game, or waiting for them to drop.

I think the complaints are more about the fact that the burger's what costs $20 in this case. There's less complaint over charging money, there's more complaint over hilariously high prices.

I don't know why anyone would pay hard cash for something it's simple enough to acquire in-game (and earning inf on the market is tailor made for 'casual', time limited players), but apparently they do already....so NC might as well get the $$ over some sleazy gold farming operation.

And again, it comes down to time vs convenience. Spending time is 'free', you just have to wait for either the RNG to smile on you (tweaked by simple stuff like running X8 or ITF runs, etc) or you earn enough capital to just buy them via auction.

To those that don't want to spend time, as it may be subjectively more valuable to them, they have the option to drop real cash, which may be less valuable than time.

One person's "hilariously high" price is another's pocket change.

My impression of the Paragon Market (on admittedly short accquaintance) is of a slick, efficient operation.
Okay, with a clunky interface...but other than that.

Their pricing makes sense- some stuff is worth it for me, some isn't, but I can see the logic behind it.

The word microtransaction and people's visual of that often does not match up with today's game store prices. That is mainly because the "micro" in many transactions left the model long ago and people just have not caught on totally yet...It's a evolution pain so to speak.

Can we get some costume slots on sale next week? Knock 'em down to 400 points per slot and I'd be forever grateful.
